I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona or the DIS meetup to pass out.
OK, I think we should probably get the order in no later than June 15th, preferably closer to June 1. I'm waiting on samples of the badge holders and see what the lanyard maker needs to start on the lanyards.
If anyone else wants to order a lanyard, please let me know before June 1
Please note: I called the lanyard maker and DCL regarding the design of these lanyards and if there were any copyright or trademarked problems. Both told me they were OK with it since we are using them for personal use and not selling them (thats why I need your payment first before I put the order in). Although DCL said that the design is OK, they said there is a small chance that guest services may request that we not wear the lanyard (I guess if the Disney police are onboard).

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)

Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card.

I LOVE to wear my DIS lanyard. I try and wear it everynight and on any excursions. This helps me in identifying other DISsers and vice a versa. As I mentioned before, I've had lots of fun experiences while wearing it. I am concerned however with this: I too like the black but am SERIOUSLY concerned that should the police patrol ask us not to wear it -no matter that we aren't selling it - I'm going to be awfully . Not to mention upset that I can't display something that I paid $$ for as I am buying it all - the badge and reel. While not a lot of $$, it stills adds up.

Again, this is somewhat similar to the CC lanyard and if someone complains - "How come they got that one - why didn't we? And yes - it will happen - even as adults - this happens - I've been there when someone complained at guest services as to why someone had 2 CC lanyards while they only got one. Childish but it happens. Anyway, if someone complains and we're asked to stop wearing them, what then?

OK - anyone else with thoughts on this? As I mentioned, I like this design also, however, if its going to include a chance that we can't wear it due to conflicts - you know that MICKEY will win. What then?

Hi, I'm new to this thread business, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly,
bear with me and help me out however you can!
We are a family of 5 - Me ( MOM), DH, DS 17, DD 14, DS 12. We're coming from the Cayman Islands, Cat 7 cabin and this is our second cruise although we've been to Disney more times than I can count and we're Disney Vacation Club members. My DD is special needs , I was wondering if anyone else out there is traveling with a special needs child on this cruise?

But like you said, someone might complain. Then I'm not sure how guest services would even track us all down. Hi there - I'm sorry to make such a fuss - I really didn't mean too. I just want to make sure that we don't have any problems. As I stated - the black is good. I don't want to change the font as that is special too. And what is Disney w/o the mouse? AGAIN, not trying to cause trouble, what about if you ask if they want to see it? Does that sound dumb? I am one of those persons that double and triple checks everything just to be on the safe side - especially with all things Disney. And as you said - we are a small group - I forget sometimes and assume we're all big. My bad!

I will be checking out of POR on Monday and tossing around if I want to go to a park or hit the outlet stores. My friend told me that they have a Coach Outlet store here but for some reason - Coach does not realy excite me all that much. I feel like I'd rather give my $ to since he gets most of it already! Especially here in WDW!

OK - wish me luck on the flight home. Got a 7 pm flight and arrive at LAX at 10 pm so I'm going to be one tired momma! But it was worth it!

I have been logging on to the Reservation site all morning (and it is early here!!) and I keep getting the error message that the system was down. I am sure glad that did not happen the morning I booked the excursions!!

I was trying for another Palo...but it seems no luck...everything was booked by the time I finally got in 6am EDT....3 hours after it opened.

As for the lanyards, I love the design and I do not think we for change. If someone wants to be a whiner.....that will not stop me. Thanks again for all the hard work designing and "advertising it"

I was away from the boards for most of weekend due to DD soccer tourney. Lots of interesting talk about the lanyards. I'll be happy to revert back to a modified version of our first design for a final selection.

I don't think it has to be modified as radically as some of you might think. I am not an attorney, but as a designer here's what I know about intellectual property that applies to our situation... 1) The Disney font is out; 2) We can use the three-circle image as it doesn't appear to have any TM or registration mark associated with it; 3) We CAN use the words "Disney Magic".

With that in mind please look for revised version later this morning.

love the lanyard- my vote is to keep it as is I 'm not so concerned about the boat, if someone says we cant wear them,Im sure we will all know each other by then, I plan on using mine at home and, being it has such a classic design, people at home will recognize it.
but- im a newbee- so whatever is decided upon will be fine with us!

I agree with Sallie. I would keep it as is. If anyone from Disney approached us, we could just say that we had it especially made for this cruise and we are not selling them. I would be very surprised if they did, as past cruisers have made lanyards so they are probably used to this. If they badgered their guests, it would certainly get around on our boards and lanyards wouldn't be popular for groups, as they are now.

PS - Even if a castmember told us to remove it, the odds of seeing that castmember again and them remembering is probably zero. I don't think they will harass us about this. They want happy guests and if they did ask us not to wear them, I would imagine we all would complain. It would be a lose/lose for them. If they let us wear them and not say anything to us, we would be happy and they would get free advertising!!!

Okay, now I offically have no flights....10 of us ....no flights!!

Any suggestions??? We will fly our out of NY, Phila, Washington, Baltimore.

I am just trying to get over the shock right now. Our flights were great deals. $590 round trip from NYC to BCN....now the cheapest I see is about $1000.

But for 10 of us that is $4000......

To make things worse, the family we are traveling with, the mom went into the hospital this morning for surgury....and will be there for about 3-4 days. I do not want to bother her with this right now.....surgury today.....

Any suggestions will be welcome.....
