Hi Guys - Laura here - I love the design but have one thought and am going to throw it out there again. Please don't get mad at me but I feel I have to say this:
I LOVE to wear my DIS lanyard. I try and wear it everynight and on any excursions. This helps me in identifying other DISsers and vice a versa. As I mentioned before, I've had lots of fun experiences while wearing it. I am concerned however with this: I too like the black but am SERIOUSLY concerned that should the police patrol ask us not to wear it -no matter that we aren't selling it - I'm going to be awfully. Not to mention upset that I can't display something that I paid $$ for as I am buying it all - the badge and reel. While not a lot of $$, it stills adds up.
Again, this is somewhat similar to the CC lanyard and if someone complains - "How come they got that one - why didn't we? And yes - it will happen - even as adults - this happens - I've been there when someone complained at guest services as to why someone had 2 CC lanyards while they only got one. Childish but it happens. Anyway, if someone complains and we're asked to stop wearing them, what then?
OK - anyone else with thoughts on this? As I mentioned, I like this design also, however, if its going to include a chance that we can't wear it due to conflicts - you know that MICKEY will win. What then?![]()
Thanks for listening.
Hi, I'm new to this thread business, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly,
bear with me and help me out however you can!
We are a family of 5 - Me ( MOM), DH, DS 17, DD 14, DS 12. We're coming from the Cayman Islands, Cat 7 cabin and this is our second cruise although we've been to Disney more times than I can count and we're Disney Vacation Club members. My DD is special needs , I was wondering if anyone else out there is traveling with a special needs child on this cruise?
We're excited and thank you very much to all the people who have posted so much great information here!!! It's a BIG help.
Happy Mother's Day !!!!

Laura, all I can say is that we are a small portion of a huge boat. The chances that guest services or someone on staff would even take notice is probably extremely small. But like you said, someone might complain. Then I'm not sure how guest services would even track us all down. When I called DCL, they were very comfortable in saying that they saw no problem with the lanyards. They even mentioned that other cruisers will probably be jealous. But as all things in life, anything could happen once we board. They thought the most that would happen is that someone in guest services MIGHT ask us not the wear the lanyards. Maybe they said that because they didn't actually see the lanyard, or maybe, in a world of copyrights and trademarks, things could be complicated, so they are covering their backs. Again, I stressed that its for personal use, its just our group, and we are not selling them. We can go ahead and change the design and be extra safe by removing the mickey head icon and removing the words Disney Magic and going back to the original font and just say "ROMEancing the Mouse - 11 day Mediterranean Cruise July 28, 2007". That should be darn safe but not from complaints I guess if someone saw it. If someone asked, I would just say "I had it special made for this cruise".
Any other suggestions? Would people like to see the design change to remove all Disney connections? If we do, we probably should just switch back to two colors, blue and white. Let me know. I will see if I can get formerCPer to do up another design. I will give DCL a call again tommorrow and see if they have any suggestions. We need to wrap this decision up soon as I need to collect payment still for the lanyards before I can order. If we end up changing the lanyard, then I need reconfirmation from everyone that they still want to order since I need a minimum of 100. I don't want to collect money if we don't have that minimum.
