Of course -- on the other thread Andrew and I post on (next year's August PC repo cruise) I mentioned something about Chris (Grandmax3) and I trying to figure out how to "do tea" -- I meant, reserve Palo tea for a group of us. Andrew, plus a few others on that thread, immediately began telling me how to "do tea" in great detail (heat the water, get a tea bag, etc. etc.). It went on for quite some time. Hence when I got the Will Turner major pirate Andrew put me down as Captain Tea Bags, aka Will Turner. I rather liked it and yet it has mysteriously disappeared . . .

For every Disser on this thread who gets a 500 or 1,000 post they can choose themselves a pirate name, or early on a name was suggested from POC.

Sometimes from posts made like 'Bovered' other dissers prompted the name.

For a small joke now and again I add another name, see if anyone notices it, and then take it back off again.

In this instance I felt the joke had gone on a little too long and I read a post saying you didn't like it so took it off.

As I just explained, I did not say I didn't like it -- I just didn't appreciate being targeted as too hard on you by Crash when I felt he didn't observe similar incidents in the other direction . . .

And as for the joke going on too long, don't think I'm not planning some tea bag revenge on JR for August 2008! "A dish best enjoyed cold . . ."

I was defending myself against Crash accusing me of being too hard on you -- I said you could dish it out as well as take it. I enjoy Captain Tea Bags just as much as you (secretly -- admit it) enjoy when I rag you about something. Come on, don't spoil the fun!!!!!!!!!!

Of course I want it on.

"Captain Tea Bags, aka Will Turner"

It is back on,

I haven't ignored posts, there are so many here I can't keep up, I cannot quote every post made, but did feel recently it went a bit too far, ( on the repo thread) and other dissers would not like to read many posts back/forth, so choose, not to respond, as it could develop further or other dissers would get the wrong impression. For another Disser (Crash) to comment to you it had gone too far 'Anti-Andrew', I felt it was wrong on others.

My time here last night was cut considerably by other commitments hence I didn't try for a pirate last night, My son is at Cub camp Saturday and last night I had to attend a pre camp meeting most of the night, and was late home from work.

Work varies as well if I work local or in London, this week I haven't been able to post any mornings due to work commitments and again tomorrow I am not around.

I have already decided to cut down on Diss posts, but want to try to keep up to date here as we are close to the cruise, then I am taking a break as balancing everything is difficult.

I'm not accusing you, Andrew! Pax!

My only real reference was that I had asked on this thread previously where my "Captain Tea Bags" nickname had gone . . .

Take it easy and in 30 days you'll be on the Magic!

Just spoke to Maryann- we have a mini-mini meet tomorrow!!!!!! I will take pics of us and post !!!! We are sooooo excited!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Is anyone taking their good jewelry ?? I always take my wedding and engagement rings, and a couple of little pieces for the evening, but Im worried with everything Im hearing about Barcelona and ports of call- I would hope if they are on my fingers- they will be safe?????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I was just thinking the same thing. I always wear my engagement & wedding ring and a right hand ring. Do you really think that's a problem? They'd have to pry it off my fingers and with the added heat/occassional flash, they're not coming off!

Andrew, thanks for the heads-up this way we won't worry too much if we don't hear from you as usual. It does seem that everyone wants "a piece" of you sometimes, doesn't it, and that there is no pleasing everyone. So just do what you need to do and keep your eye on the prize.......

We cruise in 30 days!!!!!!!!

I would say, be aware, not be concerned, loose jewels etc leave at home or hotel/ship, London is safe, but you do not wear jewels late at night on our tube, Barcelona, and the area of La Rambler, does have pickpockets and the area is know for it, as well as their Metro trains.

Blend in, do not look like a tourist, but also do not panic, be aware, be safe.

Rome has it as well, not as bad as Barca, but still be aware, whilst you film the trevi fountains someone is at your pocket..

Do not fall for scams, someone says you have dropped something, or there is something on your coat, Taxis are safe in Barca, and cheap so take them, instead of the Metro if concerned.

I would say its like parts of New York at night or any USA city.

Maryann, I wouldn't worry about a wedding band -- as for your engagement ring and the right hand ring, I suppose it would depend on how fabulous they are! You'll have to be the judge. If they are really hard to come off, you might not find it easy to keep taking them on and off as you went from the ship into port and back again.

Thank you for that, my family want me back, DW says no more tap tap tap each evening, and the recent headaches I have had seem to have a connection to time on the Internet, Monday/Tuesday was the first one since my holiday three weeks ago, it rained her last weekend so i was on the diss a lot.

I try to help as much as possible, but will 'last' the last three weeks here, then check a round up after our great Cruise then take a break to regain my family and stop the headaches.

Work is very busy currently if I am local I can post more, but for example, I will not be around Thursday morning, Friday early pm re sons Cub camp and taxi duties.

NOW I AM STILL AWAITING THE RETURN OF AN IMPORTANT PM!!!

PLEASE ALL CROSS YOUR FINGERS SOMETHING IS HAPPENING, NOT SURE IF GOOD/BAD?

My wedding band is an eternity band, though. I don't think twice about it at home and wear them into NYC. They certainly won't fall off, so I think I'm worrying about this a bit too much. Thanks for the advice.

Andrew as you seem to know about the environment in Barca, we plan on wearing our Crocs instead of trainers when sighseeing as we find them very comfortable. Do you think they look to touristy and we'll attract unwanted attention. We do wear them when we're here in London and don't have an issues. I don't want to seem paranoid but you seem to know about this...thanks

Well, I consider NYC to be extremely safe (and the statistics bear it out) -- I never even think of not wearing jewelry, including on the subway at night, walking through Central park last night at 11:30 after seeing Romeo and Juliet at the Delacorte, etc., etc. I carry a purse and have never had a problem in any part of the city at any hour. However, rightly or wrongly I am anticipating the possibility of more trouble in Europe and will have a neck wallet, won't wear jewelry off the ship, etc. When I was in Prague last year I took those precautions and had no problems although there are real problems there with theft, pickpocketing, etc., there (there are even warnings in the hotel room).

Can't find one, but here's a "fingers crossed" smilie for your Palo's Brunch.

Andrew, is your son a Boy scout? Both DH & DS are Eagle Scouts.

That makes a lot of sense, Julie. Why tempt fate? I think I may "rethink" this and go with your suggestion of low key/no jewelry. For all that is said about NYC, we sure do take a lot for granted living here.

Maryann

I think that will be fine, yes I have been there before, I have stayed in Cataluna before just outside Barc and went there a number of times, I have been to a bull fight, sagrada famila, the Olympic mountain and the fountains before, (I must say I didn't remeber them until Helen mentioned them again and looking at maps said i have been there).

Blend in just save the Disney t-shirts to the cruise, no really noticable English/USA clothes that say I am a tourist, Local people wear what they want including crocs.

Just do not advertise anything and care on the Gothic area, small lanes, when no one else is around.

Its a big city, and respect like London and parts of our city, slightly more elevated than our tube etc.

Dave Marx of passporter fame reports in his book he had his wallet stolen.

Now in the late 70's, early 80's etc., I think NYC deserved its reputation as a dangerous place (well, at least some areas) but now people have that locked in their imagination and it's actually quite a safe place. So all I was suggesting was not to use going into Manhattan as a reference for walking through Las Ramblas or on the Circumvesuviana train in Napoli, etc. Don't be paranoid and ruin your vacation, but be cautious in deciding what jewelry to wear, where to keep your money, putting your bag down while eating or taking pictures, etc.

EVERYTHING CROSSED AWAITING A PM FROM DREAMS THROUGH A WEBMASTER!

Stephen (Steven) is a boy scout, he is young so they call it cubs now and he is off to camp all this weekend.

And its going to rain!!!!!(again) it called. THE 'WIMBLEDON'EFFECT, too many tennis balls in south London warm up the ozone layer, and clouds form with lots of rain, as soon as Wimbledon is finished we Will Be back to a heatwave until September.
