Here is a summary of things we've discussed (most assuredly incomplete, but here goes)

Lime green: Official color of the DIS. People use ribbons, Mickey paint chips (Home Depot), t-shirts, etc., in lime green to recognize each other (this is done at parks and cruises

Recommendations:
Lime green ribbons: Put lime green ribbons or have something lime green during Cruise and at meets prior to cruise (AnnaS - Anna)
Glow necklaces: Preferred color lime green, however, any color would work - to wear when we meet Friday night and/or when we check in on Saturday. (salliep - Sallie)
Local gift bag worth $15-$20 with something from your area - to be exchanged at DIS meet
Fish extenders outside staterooms
Small, nominal gifts for fish extenders

Important components of the Packing List (Sandaneli - Sandra)
List of things to do:
*Make fish extender, buy fabric, figure out pattern actually sew
*Make door decoration, buy magnet, download pictures or "scrapbook" image somehow put image on magnet, test magnet with image attached
*Buy green glow necklaces
*Buy lime green ribbons to tie on clothes
*Buy extra TP to start rolling. Let's see 2 people times 6 shore visits = at least 12 rolls, then there is the supply for those not bringing or rolling
*Purchase/make or otherwise acquire hundreds of things for fish extender disboard gifts.
*Purchase extra luggage for said fish extender gifts
*Get part time job to pay for hundreds of fish extender gifts and overweight luggage charges.
*Purchase 2-4 white tshirts and iron on transfer sheets for printer to make 2 tshirts to wear on cruise to be identified by other dissers. (extra shirts are for mistakes)
*Make tshirts and then make them again when the first ones don't come out because I will have forgotten to reverse the printing. (I know me).
*Locate and purchase items of local interest for grab/swap at DisMeet.
*Print out family photos, coordinate with names and make booklet with names matched to faces so I don't totally blow it and call people by the wrong names.

On our first cruise (only one ) we booked two rooms - one inside and one outside - with a deck? More than a window, less than a deck, is that a deck? Anyway, when we checked in, they said that a mistake had been made or something was wrong with one of the rooms and to keep our rooms close together both were now outside rooms.
So, it was an upgrade, but they explained it as more of a way to fix a mistake.

I wish I could have that mistake.

Are you ordering tickets ahead of time? If yes which site are you using? We are concerned about waiting in line for long periods of time when we could be visiting other sites.
There may be information on some of the blogs regarding this but I haven't had time to read many of them. It's hard enough keeping up with this board.

We are doing a private in Rome. My sister dug up some sites to preorder tickets. I'll try to post tonight. Anyway, I contacted our tour operator and he said he knows how to get the tickets to avoid the lines. So we decided not to preorder.

Passport Issue

I'm a little concerned about our passports. Fellow DISer, Marla, ordered passports for herself & daughter back in FEBRUARY, and while hers came in about a week ago, her daughter's is still sitting on someone's desk in New Orleans, so they will not be able to board the Magic tomorrow. I feel so badly for them.

She wasn't allowed to try & expedite them until they were out two weeks from departure, and even her congressman didn't have enough pull to get the passport. This is just awful.

I'm wondering if I would be able to pay to have the kids' passports expedited at this date.

I saw that. That is really disappointing. When did you send in your request for the passports? My sister sent hers in in March for her kids and just got it last weekend. This is so scary for people planning on trips and having to cancelled or totally stress out wondering if they will come in time and the extra cost if they do have to cancel and rebook. I would do whatever you have to do get them expediated.

Lanyard Status 6/15:
Order is Made!
I ordered 10 more lanyards and reels. So now I have 13 lanyard available, although I haven't heard back from ukmickeyc yet. Please contact me if you are interested in getting a lanyard.
6/14 Lanyards are being made. With the extra bucks that people included in their payment and I forked out a bit, I bought 9 extra lanyards with reels. I did order some extra badge reels just in case some show up dead on arrival or someone changes their mind and want one. ETA: 5 lanyards are left .
Disneylover is making name cards for the lanyards, so please contact her to let her know what name to print.

Design E is the lanyard chosen by our DIS group (see below)
Cost will be $2.63 per lanyard which includes a badge holder
Add $1 for each reel. Let me know if you want black or red reels. If you don't say, it will be black.

I do not but I have been dying to buy/wear them. They never feel comfortable when I try them on.

Hi Anna - they do feel sorta uncomfortable at first. The first time I wore them I sweated in them. Then on the second day they rubbed the top of my foot raw, I switched to socks that day, then the third day, VOILA! no problem now. I think its our head playing mind games with our feet. They really are very comfortable to wear once you get used to them. They worked great for me because I was having heel problems for about 2 years. Then once I wore this for a while, the problem seemed to disappear.

Laura I apologize for not remembering the family/scary situation. I am sure it was and is still hard on you.

Hey Anna, that's ok - I was very cryptic when I wrote that note, I was just too numb from it just having happened. I'm ok now and am at peace with my actions. Closure will come when God wants it too. And I'm sure that he feels that Andrew isn't ready. I just wanted to avoid the inevitable - "well you went to Europe w/o me." But at least, my conscience is clear for me to ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL TRIP!
