Mary Jo,

I am literally cracking up - loud and shaking. My dd thinks I am now nuts. You guys have too much time on your hands :rotfl: where do you find these things. This has to be the best. :thumbsup2 I definitely released some stress today.

OMG!!!!! OMG !!!!!IM HYSTERICAL IN MY CLASSROOM_ THE KIDS THINK I'VE LOST IT FOR SURE !!!!!!!! MARY JO- I CANT WAIT TO MEET YOU!!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao:

Tee hee ... That is just what you guys do to me when I'm trying to sneak on the DIS at work. (No work for me today, so it's good. ;) ) Seriously, I think we have a great group, and I enjoy the friendliness, humor, and empathy that everyone has been sharing in our thread. Oh, and Anna, I got up to page 48 of Google images.

I plan on brining my Disney Crocs
I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy a pair...

We are doing a private in Rome. My sister dug up some sites to preorder tickets. I'll try to post tonight. Anyway, I contacted our tour operator and he said he knows how to get the tickets to avoid the lines. So we decided not to preorder.
Oooh, I'm interested. Can you please post or pm me with the tour operator info?

I saw that. That is really disappointing. When did you send in your request for the passports? My sister sent hers in in March for her kids and just got it last weekend. This is so scary for people planning on trips and having to cancelled or totally stress out wondering if they will come in time and the extra cost if they do have to cancel and rebook. I would do whatever you have to do get them expediated.
We sent the passports in the first week of April. I really won't panic until June 30, however, I'm now wondering if I should just avoid the last-minute panic rush that's bound to happen in July & just pay up now, if I can, to get them expedited. I'm agreeing with you & think I should go with the latter.

Ok, I got a hold of the vendor and added on 10 more lanyards:eek:
Hope that is enough.
I'm sure that we'll pick up whatever is left over once we get to Barcelona so you won't bear all that cost alone.

Thanks, Jeanne, so much for doing this for us.

Here is a summary of things we've discussed (most assuredly incomplete, but here goes)

Lime green: Official color of the DIS. People use ribbons, Mickey paint chips (Home Depot), t-shirts, etc., in lime green to recognize each other (this is done at parks and cruises

Recommendations:
Lime green ribbons: Put lime green ribbons or have something lime green during Cruise and at meets prior to cruise (AnnaS - Anna)
Glow necklaces: Preferred color lime green, however, any color would work - to wear when we meet Friday night and/or when we check in on Saturday. (salliep - Sallie)
Local gift bag worth $15-$20 with something from your area - to be exchanged at DIS meet
Fish extenders outside staterooms
Small, nominal gifts for fish extenders

DIS Meet: Sunday, Promenade Lounge (Deck 3) at 09:30
Group Picture: Location/Date/Time TBD

Photos of fellow DISers cruising: Page 529, Post 7933 (disneylover5 - Lisa)
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=19165821&postcount=7933
Photos are also on Page 1, Post 12

Lanyards: To be handed out prior to the cruise & during the DIS meet (Kyla - Jeanne)
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=19168700&postcount=7950

Nametags for the lanyards (disneylover5 - Lisa)
Lisa updates this list as she gets new information

Meet before the cruise
Meet at the Magic Fountain for the 22:30 show.
Drink (or two) at the Grand Marina hotel near the ship before the Magic Fountain mee

List of Pirates (Andrew the Pirate Keeper)
There are several posts with the list, but you can find a good list at post #8019
(btw: WMRegina gave me that weebles wobble tag - she would laugh at knowing that is my pirate name)
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1064311&page=535

Important components of the Packing List (Sandaneli - Sandra)
List of things to do:
*Make fish extender, buy fabric, figure out pattern actually sew
*Make door decoration, buy magnet, download pictures or "scrapbook" image somehow put image on magnet, test magnet with image attached
*Buy green glow necklaces
*Buy lime green ribbons to tie on clothes
*Buy extra TP to start rolling. Let's see 2 people times 6 shore visits = at least 12 rolls, then there is the supply for those not bringing or rolling
*Purchase/make or otherwise acquire hundreds of things for fish extender disboard gifts.
*Purchase extra luggage for said fish extender gifts
*Get part time job to pay for hundreds of fish extender gifts and overweight luggage charges.
*Purchase 2-4 white tshirts and iron on transfer sheets for printer to make 2 tshirts to wear on cruise to be identified by other dissers. (extra shirts are for mistakes)
*Make tshirts and then make them again when the first ones don't come out because I will have forgotten to reverse the printing. (I know me).
*Locate and purchase items of local interest for grab/swap at DisMeet.
*Print out family photos, coordinate with names and make booklet with names matched to faces so I don't totally blow it and call people by the wrong names.

Other Notes:
JoAnn will be providing TP rolls to those who sign up. I imagine her stateroom will look something like this when she unpacks:

And for the major pirates there's always

(Thanks, Justine for getting this pic)

And especially for the DISers

And we'll be well prepared for any church, right?
mummy.jpg

(This actually reminds me of the time that I got the bright idea to dress my ds as a mummy for Halloween when he was in 3rd grade (I think). I wrapped him up in toilet paper, and when I ran out, I used paper towels. I'll never forget the image of him sitting in the car on the way to school with his arms sticking out (think of the little brother in his snow suit in the movie "A Christmas Story"), and then shaking his head and saying, "I'm not very happy," with tears in his eyes. OMGosh, I felt like such a terrible mommy!! I called work & told them we had a domestic issue I had to take care of, and then went to the store & bought a ton of gauze. I dressed him up, and of course, as the day wore on, the gauze was falling off -- he got the award at school for the best homemade costume. He ended up a happy little boy that day... but the image of him sitting in my car w/paper ripping everytime he moved... it's really funny ....... now)

I see that they've heard we'll be in Italy and are preparing the artwork just for us.

Like the roll of honor!!!

GIFT BAGS, is it one per family, or for every memeber say I would do 4??

Are you ordering tickets ahead of time? If yes which site are you using? We are concerned about waiting in line for long periods of time when we could be visiting other sites.
There may be information on some of the blogs regarding this but I haven't had time to read many of them. It's hard enough keeping up with this board.

You'd think by now Rome would have implemented a FastPass system. Every other theme park has one....

Finally, I understand that piece. :lmao:

When we downgraded to category 12, I figured my sister (4) will get upgraded but since I'm only a party of 2, we probably will be sitting in cat 12 rooms. Its interesting this category 12. Do people always book it expecting an upgrade? I'm in group 2 of always asking for a specific cabin because I like deck 5, so this is the first time, I'm in group 3, just get on the ship. I guess I really don't mind, since this cruise is so different than past ones. Being in port almost everyday, we'll be so busy, not sure if I'll ever be in my room except to sleep.

My last trip being a Carnival inside cabin, I figure even the category 12 is a huge step up.

Thank you Tag Fairy for my new tag... I love it!!!!! ......

Sallie - I love it too! And I can picture it too! :ssst: Just glad you didn't get tagged with a flasher comment! :lmao:

Laura, I just called DCL & asked them, and they said that there would not be a problem. [/COLOR]
Thanks MJ! Appreciate it - forgot some last minute details I have to do before taking off. Its my godson's/nephew b-day along with my sister's and for her b-day - I'm giving her an annual pass which I have to pay for. Just what I wanted to do - go to DL on a Friday! What a grump I am! (Nope - no grumpy icon yet)

CROCS;
I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy a pair...

I love mine. My mom decided I needed the Disney jibbitz but I'm afraid they will fall out. I love the Ariel one.

Oooh, I'm interested. Can you please post or pm me with the tour operator info?
Its the same one that Andrew is using: limoinrome.com with Claudio. I think Andrew is getting Fabrizo. I seem to have the owner Claudio, but then MVPhoto said he has Claudio, so I'm not sure who I'm getting really. He has a basic tour lined out on his website but I tweaked it a bit, actually going to less sites, because I didn't want to feel rushed plus we will have kids with us. Not sure how long they will last.

Another DISer on the transatlantic almost didn't make it. He got his a week before the cruise. he was trying everything to get the passports. Seems like it sits on someone's desk quite often.

Thanks, Jeanne, so much for doing this for us.
I'm not worried. Darn it, I just called and should have asked when I'll get them. The website says 2-3 weeks.

i think it will be brent.

Look - It's CHICKEN BOY!!!!!!!! :lmao: Remind me to explain onboard. Better yet - ask Brent! :lmao: :lmao: (It'll make a great explanation and if you want to see a man  go for it!

Sandra

Hi Sandra - just organizing one for La Spezia which I got off Celeste's (A Travelling Nurses) blog. I've sailed with her before and got know that she researches everything to the hilt. So, I took her suggestions and when I contacted the tour company asked them if they could buy them or forward me the links. Which they did. We are very interested in climing the tower and wanted to make sure that we did it. So they send me the paperwork and a link to times. We are now trying to pinpoint a time as the tickets have to be bought for a specific time.

If you'd like to hear her podcasts - she gives lot of info - let me know - I'll try and send you a link. She gives seveal recommendations for tour companies and even touches on what she really should have packed lightly.

Oh My - when I was last able to check out the board it was page 459 or around there. I have over 100 pages to read and catch up on.

I've been away because we have had a lot of really bad news around town these last few weeks. I've been trying to help out with flowers, cards, etc. We had a gentleman lose his life the other day in a horrible car accident. From the accident scene, which I was at just after it happened, I think he had a heart attack or something. His car went off a cliff but there was no evidence that he tried to stop.

On top of that, one of our football coaches learned he had prostate and colon cancer in April. They started exploring options and scheduled him for surgery last week, on his birthday too. The night before he got a call that they can't do surgery because it has spread to his lymphnodes. They are now talking about 'alternatives to prolong the inevitable'. This man isn't family, but it hit hard. There are so many kids in this town that he has helped, and he really wants to continue coaching this year.

So - the last few weeks have been a bit of a bummer. time to cheer myself up and see what you guys have been chatting about.
