It's sort of funny actually, I've been off by one three times now.
But it's pure luck, and luck's never been my strong suit....
Captain Lucky???![]()
I knew DD got his luck for sure last year when upon going to High School orientation meeting for prospective students, they held a raffle. They raffled off hoodies, caps, sweatpants and we thought that was all until DD said - wait - I'm next.
The secretary said - ok everyone - this is our last raffle (out of nowhere) and the prize is a $50 waiver fee for the placement testing. Well, guess what? No sooner did they rattle off the number when DD stands up and says - see - that's me.
well, I must hit the big Mickey cloud in the sky - see you all tomorrow
Same!!!!!!!!!!!
JoAnn - if your tag changes - I'm gonna bust a gut rolling - sorta like this:![]()

Lol - the added benefits of the DIS...MaryJo,
Thank you for the excel spread sheet info. I finally figured out how to view it on my computer. This DIS Board has really added to my limited computer skills.
Sandra
Leslie,
Thanks for the information. I will look into it. It's cheaper per calls to the US but then anyone calling us would have to pay for the call to the world phone so I have to find out what those charges would be as well.
There is so much to do to get ready to go and I'm not even thinking about packing. The logistics of leaving 2 kids and making all of the arrangements necessary as well as communication, I'm getting overwhelmed.
I wonder sometimes about those people who can just pick up and go and not stress out about all the little details and contingencies etc... It must be nice. (Sort of like being a husband. )
Sandra
Hi Izzi. I have an email off to Claudio.Mary Jo I've just PM'd you about this
We're signed up for this one, too, and I'm looking forward to the cable car ride to the top... but, I haven't read any reviews on this either...38
Anyone see any reviews on the Erice and Segesta excursion?
I think I saw a review on all the other excursions that I've signed up for now except that one.
35
Wow, MaryJo must be lurking. I just checked the cabins powerpoint and its already updated with what I posted this morning.![]()
26
Where's Aurora1959 and her marathon multi posts?
25
where's Bellelinus and her jabs at Andrew and special cabin with a porthole?
23
Where's Disneylover5 and her name tags?
Is there anyone else here to help Jeanne out so I can go and make the salad ????
The ship has stabilizers, so it should not rock, and the Med. is normally very smooth. BTW we got our cabin assignment 7526 is someone is updating the powerpoint. BTW, I should not should all over myself, when I say shouldThe last cruise we were on we had a cabin on the same deck. We were on the port side of the ship then and a about as far forward as we are on this cruise. The Carib. can be pretty rough at times but we felt no rocking. My wife is prone to seasickness and she didn't even have to use her patch for the entire 7 day cruise.
I think that was the longest Fluff streak ever.
Now, that its over. I can get back to work.
Sorry for the interruption![]()
Just one of those things. Had to do it.
Yup - you were a major influence on me thinking about doing actual private tours. Thank you, Andrew.Welcome again and keep posting I am doing ( with Salliep) a simular private tour of rome and we have four others booked in the main ports, there is a great thread I posted the link a few pages back on booking private tours, I will find it and post it shortly
Hi everyone
I didn't get lost in the new forest, but we then had a weekend away , then a very tough day at school and now today when I was finally gonna catch up with you all, I got the phone call from Ofsted I'll leave the British teachers to fill you in on the scary prospect of Ofsted.....I'll just say goodbye again until next wednesday. Be good and tell me all the news when I return!
Love Lynn
Great info!! Thank you so much!! Our hotel is 2 metro stops away from the Placa Espana stop, so we're pretty close to the fountain. I mapped it out last night.Hi Guys I asked this question on Cruisecritic about the metro system and got a fab reply
Hi,
We are staying near to Placa Catalunya. These are some of the sites we want to see - can anyone help and tell me what coloured metro line to use and where to get off. Thanks
Sagrada familia
Parc Guell
The Nou camp football stadium
The magic fountain
Cathedral in the barri gotic
Thankyou for your help
Hello from Barcelona,
this is the oficial site for Barcelona transportation in English, you will find information about fees and itinerary too.
http://www.tmb.net/en_US/home.jsp
For your asked destinations:
Sagrada Familia: line 2 (purple) from Passeig de Gracia station to Sagrada familia.
Camp Nou and Magic Fountain: line 3 (green) Les Corts for the stadium and Plaça Espanya for the fountains.
Cathedral and Barri gotic walking 5 min from pça Catalunya, mostly pedestrian roads.
Park Güell: a 30 min bus ride line 24 from Passeig de Gràcia/Casp st. You can use the same transport card than metro.

I'm thinking of cancelling our excursion, and doing this town on our own. I really would have liked to go to the Pope's palace, but you have to be 21+ and so my kids would not be able to attend. So that's not an option for us. I'll work out something, though.Change in my excursion-
Hi I have been think about what to do in MArseille - the plan was to get the little train (ourselves) then go round and do a bit of shopping. However after further investigation because we are there on a Sunday, on all accounts the place is dead. I have therefore been trying to look for an excursion.
I dont want a long one - 4-5 hrs and Im kind of limited as I cant sit on a coach for very long periods - well to cut a long story short the only one that seems to fit is
Calanques of Cassis (Are these cliffs?)
So Dave and I are now booked on the PM excursion![]()
Thanks for doing these, Lisa. On mine could you please put my screenname in parentheses, if possible? Also, this is the info that donoic gave us some time ago:Mary Jo:

What do the letters mean in your sig? GA something or another
Thanks for the tips! I just saw a Sports Authority in El Segundo - I'll take my ds there. I think he'll like it.Anna - try looking online for a store called Big 5 Sporting goods or a Sports Authority (used to be called SportsMart). They are here in CA and some other states - if worse comes to worse, I just bought some for my DH, I can take a picture and let you see them and I can buy them and mail them to you. Just let me know - we leave on the 25th but mailing cutoff will probably have to be sooner as I take days to pack! Even though I have only 1 suitcase!![]()
I too hate the nylon ones and while they had some cotton ones, they were pretty heavy. Then I found some perfect ones but they had a string at the bottom - type of parachute pants that were big in the 80's. I finally found some lightweight cotton blend that will work.
Just let me know.
They did have some
Lisa, We are already booked with a private tour in Rome but if you are looking for people to join you on the private excursion in Naples please let us know we might be interested in that.
Sandra
I had a strange thought whilst I was in the shower this morning.
As a lot of people are heading for Barcelona before the cruise and for all you American folks it will be at least a couple of day prior because you've got long haul flights to make. Those of us here in the U.K who are not leaving home till the morning of the cruise (like me) will probably be talking to ourselves for the 36-48 hours. I wonder how many pirates I can acumulate in that time![]()

I had that issue with a AAA agent that I booked through years ago. Good luck on getting all your travels arranged correctly for you.All right all - if I could fire my TA I would. Why oh why did I use them. But experience makes the best teachers! So they say, in this case - its definitely the truth.
Awwww, here's a bigThx for noticing.........I'm having "one of those days" with my fam.........I could use a little .......................
You have lots of good tips. Thanks for this one.OK as we're getting closer. If anyone loses papers - I've found that those accordian style type of folders are great for carrying valuable papers such as DVC reservation notices, hotel's paper notices, etc. And they also work great for putting daily DCL navigators or other souvenirs that you get from DCL.
Just a thought!
Wow - great tip - where would I get this? Office Depot? I like to get aerial posters, too, so a mailing tube would be handy. And don't forget a mailing tube. Has anyone heard if DCL is giving away any lithos?
Lol, I know that feeling. Happy Birthday to your DD!!I'm back now - I was actually in the hot tub for 45 min or so - took DD and her BF plus the 4 of us out to dinner - it's her 16th birthdayI'm way too young for that
Best of luck to Miss Jessica!Ok, finally "caught up"............my DD17 and I just back from Pittsburgh, PA....10 hours+ round trip.......beautiful school.........but........of course, issues.....wish Jessica luck!!!![]()
Love these hints. I have an aerial of the town my grandfather was born (Asturias, Spain -- Porrua), and would like to bring more, if possible. Also, if we see a print that I like I'll want to bring it home, too. I have one hanging in our front room of Las Meninas (a painting by the Spanish artist Velasquez).Mailing tube unless its a long one can be brought usually onboard with you.
Accordian style - something light - like from Staples would be good. Nothing too heavy as restrictions may hinder us. Then again - can look to find out if Spain has something like an Office Depot, or stationery supply store.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!Not sure...............![]()
Laura, where are you downloading them from?OK - I guess I'd better go back to downloading some audiobooks on my ipod. I put 5 on but have listened to 2 already! Not good. These were supposed to be for the cruise. I just never learn!
I
Debit/ATM cards - some are on the "plus" system and some are on the "star" system - it's noted on the back of the card and then at the ATM
Oh, are the stores all closed? We were going to just shop and walk about - not a good idea?
