So here I am. Grateful to all of you for your thoughts. They really warm me.

Oh, and Sallie -- I DID think of you while on the airplane. As we were leaving from LAX (to go to El Paso & then San Antonio), I saw a family board the plane, and the son was wearing a DL propeller cap -- surely to help keep his mother cool. :)

Mary Jo - with so many pulling and praying with and for you and Nick - there is no way that God isn't listening - he just wants to see how far you can go before you break. In the meantime, he sent you a small sign - Sallie's DL PH! :lmao: Did you have a hard time trying not to laugh?

Still debating on whether to get DH one for our anniversary - he said he wanted one - but the girls both yelled - NO WAY!

Wow. I coulda had that pirate:

Congrats, JoAnn! And I've made 400 on this thread. That's a record for me.

:woohoo: Congrats yourself MJ! :dancer: party:

On another note - I went into Tar-jay (Target for others) and found a 50# weight limit scale with tape measure. It is about the size of a deck of cards and cost $9.54. It is in the luggage section - I found this after asking numerous clueless personnel. I should have just headed there myself. Anyway, if anyone wants one - they are there.

Also, saw some cute PINK shoe/organizer that would work handily for keeping things straight in the cabin - TIP: Everyone - don't forget to pack one of those shoe organizers - they really do help keep the cabin tidy.

Back to the shoe organizer. Remember - most airlines in Europe do not accept anything over 44 lbs - except for BA which allows 50# and Virgin if your lucky enough to fly them will allow 2 depending on where you sit. Oh Yes! The scal is in both lbs and kgs.

OK - when I left off this afternoon - I had just cancelled my DCL excursions in: Palermo, Naples & La Spezia. The DCL agent that helped me was named Justine. She was a godsend. She did warn me that many airlines inter-Europe adhere strictly to the carry-on requirements and even make people try their luggage in the sample they have at the gate.

Montecarlo? She won 75 Euros and she didn't have to show ID. She said that carrying around a driver's license was usually plenty.

Sorrento was gorgeous and that Herculaneum was absolutely awesome. The bus even stopped at a cameo store on the way back or there and the reason was for the bathrooms. She gave DCL credit for that saying they really did a good job picking out nice pitstops. The cameos, while expensive, were gorgeous and had kinda regretted not buying one.

OH YEAH! Posted this earlier - the ship is cold at night according to her. I recall getting cold in the restaurants and the theatre too.

Amalfi Coast is gorgeous but the windy roads and the crazy driving can be bothersome to some if they are prone to carsickness.

Nothing much we didn't already know but it was nice to hear her say that.

Of course she overpacked but she did end up wearing most of what she brought.

Had I been thinking more I'd of asked about the laundry situation, the weight restrictions, etc.

Oh yeah - for those with DCL transfers - she said there was no better relief than once you left customs in Barcelona than seeing the White Mickey Hands waving around - kinda like a familiar face that instantly sets you at ease! Thought those of you with DCL transfers would like that.

OH yeah - and this we all just LOVE to hear - YEAH RIGHT! No problem with luggage until the return trip. She'd been home for just over a week and they had finally found her luggage. Apparently it had been roaming JFK for over a week and they finally tracked the renegade suitcase down and sent it home! :lmao:

Jet lag there isn't so bad - she recommended taking a SMALL SMALL nap if you get there early enough and then try to get to bed early like 8 or 9 and then getting up the next day on time. Its the coming back part that is the killer. She was having a hard time adjusting still.

Also, take plenty of cards - she took over 500 pictures and she's not much of a picture taker. (NOTE: almost forgot those)

She also reiterated that take your valuables on the plane with you - cameras, laptops, etc.

All stuff we know but doesn't hurt to be reminded again!

Ok that's all for now until I remember more.

Hi Helen - just wanted to let you know that you got our cabins 2083 and 2085 under Sandra's. Don't want to lose out on any gifts! ;)

28th july 2007

Sold out

Looks like no upgrades @ the port;) .

:sad2: Not what I wanted to hear! :sad1:

Oh well, I'll console myself over and over each time we board the ship when I see the long lines for the elevators!

ok, don't all laugh when I ask this...
but is there a weight restriction when traveling through London?
Here I know the limit is 50 lbs, but if you pay the overage fee you can take up to 70lbs. Is this not the case in Europe?

Another question... has anyone shipped packages to the boat ahead of time?

I agree with you Andrew, I think that if people keep the "Disney spirit" alive, we can all have a few laughs and plan our trips......I'm glad that we are all on this thread together, it is TRULY ONE OF THE NICEST GROUPS I HAVE MET ON THESE BOARDS....my only fear is that on the Med cruise, we won't have time to hang out and have fun together due the the intense schedule......THX TO ALL NEW AND "OLD" FOR JOINING OUR GROUP AND SHARING IDEAS AND QUESTIONS!!!:grouphug: pirate: :cheer2:
:thumbsup2

Ah something like our Star testing I guess - part of the "no child left behind" program that is designed to make sure that no child graduates without the ability to do well on standardized tests :rolleyes1

That's the one :rotfl: If it moves, test it, is the philosophy here at present..our parents get fined if their child misses a SAT but no one seems to care too much if they miss the teaching before it!!!!!!
Dan Don't get me started:rolleyes1 :teacher:

Our countries have so many similiarities our programme is called Every Child Matters which of course we all knew before the gov took it as it's by line.

Depends on the airline BA is 23kg. So is Virgin in Economy.
