I can tell I'm doomed as far as sleep & jet/lag is concerned. I figure I'll sleep when I'm tired and stay awake when there's stuff to stay awake for. It's vacation - shouldn't be too tightly bound to a schedule anyway.

A non-stop sounds so nice....

We're split - half on United and half on American: the dictating factor being availability of frequent flyer miles (of which we have virtually none left now).

Our connection times should be fine if the flights are reasonably on schedule. Fortunately, American just this month moved our incoming flight to the new terminal 9 at JFK, so instead of having to go between terminals and through security again, we have a short walk between gates. So odds are good there.

The Heathrow terminal 3 to terminal 2 hike is questionable, but the connection is on the same itinerary so it's the airlines responsibility to get us to barcelona, and there are plenty of later flights they could put us on.

So it still looks good for us to get to Barcelona on Friday afternoon.

Whether our luggage will make it remains the big question...

When we did bus touristic we stopped at the football ground and after just starting off again the driver pulled over again. All the players were out having a training session and he wanted to see his favorite players, he didn't start off again until we had four bus touritics back to back lined up!

I think my kids and DH would just die and go with a smile on their faces if we happened to be there and see a training session

We had to take a nap. We did not sleep the night before leaving and then sporadically on the plane. We took a nap, so of course, Nick and I didn't sleep much. Kelly on the other hand, had no problem.

The worst jet lag I ever had was when we went to Hawaii, it took about 14 hours..........my flght is 8 hours nonstop with a six hour time change. Our big issue is all the sleep we lose the first night and how quickly we recover!
