We live right outside of Catania- we're American's but my husband is in the US Navy and we're currently stationed here!

I have definitely heard of Catania. I don't think it's too far. I was 9 yrs. old when I came to the U.S.

How long are you there for and how long have you been there? I hope you like it.

We moved here just this past August (06) and will be here until Aug 09. So far I really like it. We sort of live out in the country side between Mt. Etna and Catania.. and the mountains, olive trees, and orange groves are a gorgeous change to the flat Indiana land i'm used to! ;) It was definitely a culture shock though to be honest.. especially with having children. It was hard to get used to not having drive thru's for banks, post office, food, etc. and dragging that big stroller out just to run a simple errand- things like that. It's been almost a year though and I think I have finally grown to love and really appreciate the culture here. The travel opportunities are amazing!

I think it's about 3 hours up to Palermo. I've been to the middle of Sicily (Enna) and to the mosaics, and agrigento temples.. and south and north of here.. just not up there yet. SooN!! can't wait!

Introducing........ Isabella( Izzie) and Mia Phelan!!!:cool1: :cool1:   :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sallie,

Congratulations again. They are so precious. How old are they? I was expecting them to be smaller.

OMG! :faint: Come back from lunch and there are over 18 pages to catch up on! Wow - Guess I'll leave the boards more often. I hope I don't intimadate you all. :rotfl:

Anyway, just checking in an I will be back after Ketchup!

E = Euro's

Most are road's and towns.

For A12 = Freeway
For M25 = Parking lot / and/or London orbital Expressway.
Essex= The people with the best sense of humor in the UK.

Hey, remember we invented ENGLISH you customized it!

Andrew - Don't you mean we slaughtered it? ;)

Wait till you see what I can do with it when I get toasty! (Which BTW, doesn't happen too often but I have been known to imbibe upon occasion!) :) And I can be bribed.

However, I have discovered that when I do my pictures usually suffer so as I  to take pictures - I usually refrain.

Hey careful ESSEX boy remember some of us around here could well mention white stillettos and handbags :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Please do! :rotfl2:

I only wear thoose on Saturday nights! No Essex jokes here please the MOD's will censor them!

Only if they understand them though! ;)

It means stick-in-the-mud people who spoil things for others for no obvious reason other than to stick their nosy beaks in

So then what does fussbucket mean? And should I be upset if I was called one? :rotfl:

I think there are a lot of lurkers out there. I see several people on line an no one's posting....hmmmmm I wonder what they're all waiting for?
Helen, I know you're out there.
Penny

:ssst: She's lurking.... um watching Boston Legal - are the 45 minutes up yet?:rotfl:

I have a smile playing round my lips all the time I'm reading this thread. My family thinks I'm off my trolley!!!

*$*$* liberty! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Is trolley anything like  ;)

I'm just giving everyone else a chance - seems like even when I try not get them - I do!!!

I think I have 12 now - including a major - so Im being kind;)

SHOW OFF

No one likes a braggert! But a pirate: is another story! :cutie:

My DH just said to my youngest son who was in my internet chair "better move off that chair and let her at the internet before she has a fit...I think I'm living with a bunch of freaks" :rotfl:

Do you think he has a problem with me posting on DIS ?????

UUMMMMM......YES!!!

That's ok - they just don't get it! :rotfl:

What does the elbow do with the hand ??????

CONGRATS! MAJOR pirate: this beginner's luck sarks!

Sounds like you need another computer....

(Actually, the real reason for this comment is that I'm actually laughing at my own situation - computers in my house outnumber people by a substantial margin) :surfweb:

You by any chance don't happen to have a cousin living in Norwalk do you Dan? :rotfl2:

OK A12, think the I4 through Florida, the A12 goes from the important towns such as Romford, from the city of London, into Essex, and far less important places, such as Chelmsford and Colchester!

We speak the Queens English here, and a bit of EastEnd Catherine Tate Cockney like speak! sorted!

Well, why didn't you say so! That clears it up! Wait - did I just have an OZ moment? :)

To be fair, in addition to the Brit Chats.........we have quite a few Dogspeaks as well...............has anyone noticd.........I have no dog?pluto:

Between Disneyspirit and I - we can lend you one of ours - but you'd have to return them - they are proabably pretty spoiled - at least mine are!

Introducing........ Isabella( Izzie) and Mia Phelan!!!:cool1:
