Wow, I just read through this trip report - not good!
During the trip I was following a blog called Davidson Family Travels and the women had a few complaints - but they were young and sarcastic in nature - it was actually very refreshing to read. Now I am beginning to think that they were actually being pretty kind about things. I hope that the kinks work their way out!!

Beautiful - your B&W looks smaller - Isis - my B& W is tiny - fluctuates between 38 - 40 lbs depending on her mood!

Mystic (Blk&W) looks smaller because she doesn't have a fluffy undercoat like Nala & Spirit. Spirit is the our biggest at 72lbs. Mystic is a surprising 62lbs! Nala is only 47lbs. We have had 8 Siberian Huskies since 1978. Niki (F-Blk&W), Tanya (F-Brn&W), Sasha (F-Blk&W), Kyra (F-Brn&W), Simba (M-Blk&W), Nala (F-Brn&W), Spirit (M-Blk&W), Mystic (F-Blk&W). Nikki and Mystic are the only ones that never got fluffy undercoats. They all shed hair year round here in AZ.

Oh boy - looks like a lot has been going on. I'll have to wait until this evening before I can ketchup.

FYI - I did get at least one bathroom painted. And I mowed the lawns, and bought and assembled a new bbq grill, and I mopped all the floors, and did the carpets, and scrubbed the grout in the kitchen, and cleaned the patios in the backyard, and washed the cars, and cleaned the garage.

All of this was while my DH was at work, he has worked from 8 or so everyone morning until around 12a or 1a since Thursday. So I had plenty of time to do lots of things. Now I just need to sit back and catch up on the dis.

Is that a new tag for you? Or did I miss it earlier?
I'm tired thinking about what you got accomplished!!

Tom - question for you. My girls will be 3 on Oct 15 and Oct 29. Long Story - we 'rescued' one from a pupply mill store in Vegas with the intentions of giving her to a loving household but when I found a suitable house -she'd bonded with Isis - and since they are only 2 weeks apart - figured oh -well what's the most damage she could do? :rotfl:

Chloe - the white dog is about 57 lbs and very mild and meek until she loses it which has done only twice since we got her at 5 months old. Very gentle and only stands up for herself when she's been pushed to the limit. About 2 months ago - I was in the bedroom - Isis got 'bossy' (playtime is early am) and I heard the sound of furniture being moved around, then growling (serious growl not play growl) and contact fur flying fight. I flew into the room and they both stopped and looked at me like - Uh OH! We're in trouble. They both retreated to the back door to be let out and they were angels for about 2 hrs. I just laughed - they are no different than human kids! In fact when next I looked they were curled up in the same bed outside! One's face on the other's flank. Go figure!

Anyway, couple ?s - When do they settle down? Not as wild? Their coats are not as fluffy as your white and brown and white - more like your B&W, please forgive me I mixed up their names - know Spirit's LOL. But will their coats get fluffy or are they like that for life? Works great for me - the white one sheds a lot more than Isis but oh well, one is better than 2.

Sorry about that! These ARE Siberian Huskies!!!! They have lots of energy and are extremely inventive! Even our eldest will decide at times to join in when the other 2 are play-fighting. Unfortunately she also tends to forget about the play aspect and gets too excited. It is normal for these dogs to determine a pecking order. IE: who is the Alpha (Dominant Leader) Mostly they are just playing, but like children, they sometimes over do it. Just be careful to not get between them as they are usually too involved in the moment to notice you. My DW tried to break up a fight once and got bit. It was not intentional mind you, They were just too involved and she got her hand between them. A great trick is to have a set of keys to rattle and or throw at their paws. Their paws are sensitive and they usually will stop if they here the rattling keys. Simba was a rescue dog for us. Someone had moved away and just left him in the back yard. A neighbor had been feeding him and eventually called a Vet technician friend of ours who came and got him. We adopted him and he was a great dog! We think he must have been abused because he would often urinate on the floor when scared and liked to lay in the hallway by himself. (These are pack animals and tend to stay near each other or their humans.)

You know how it is........it depends on your expectations.....there's probably a particle of truth in everyone's posts ....I personally think it's helpful to know what people are thinking to be better prepared!:hippie:

I felt the same way about the Davidson blog, but I think you are right about them being kind- it sounds like a nightmare! I hope and pray things are straightend out for the future cruises... I do think the weather played a major roll in everything except the food-

I had a few minutes and I made a signature for myself. Thanks to everyone (whose?/who's?) ideas I "borrowed".:confused3

Woke up to 1 1/2 inches of snow - supposed to be 89 degrees on Saturday - gotta love that Montana weather!!

Curiously, this was one of my reasons for picking the 7/28 cruise. While I didn't expect them to have a bunch of new staff, one has to assume that there would be "kinks" on Disney's first cruise to the Med. I figured that by late July, they will have had time to work out most of the problems relating to the new itinerary, and because it's not the very last Med cruise, they wouldn't yet be sick and tired of it.

The part about the food and customer service is a concern though. Hopefully these were really start-up problems and not the start of a trend.

Greetings from the west coast,

We are going on the cruise on July 28th and would like to be join everybody for the fun. My DW and I both have met many of you (DISERS) on the Christmas and Panama cruises and I have been reading the boards for several years. I have always been impressed with how friendly everyone has been. My daughter is also very anxious to meet other DIS kids, decorate our door and participate in the fish mail.

We live sunny Southern California.

My name is Don (45)
My DW is Anna (43) I suspect she will also post!
My DD in Deanna (11)
My DS is Donnie (8)

Grandpa/Don (70+)
Grandma/Louella ( ;) )

We are currently in 2 cat. 12 GTY rooms. We had been in cat 10 GTY but switched when the rates went down. (You guys saved us a fortune)

We have 2nd seating for dining. This will be our 5th Disney cruise.

Summer 2002 - Western Caribbean
Christmas 2004 - 10 night holiday cruise
Summer 2005 - Panama east bound
Summer 2006 - Double Dip Cruise

Looking forward to reading the posts over the next couple of months and look forward to meeting everybody.

Don and Anna

Welcome Don, Anna, & family

Yep, I spotted it. I'm not even sure what this makes me - a polygopassportomist? Is that even legal? Will hundreds of desperate tourists praying for their single passport to arrive before their cruise besiege me to try to find out how I accomplished it? Will Jason Bourne, upon regaining his memory, snicker at me and call me a rank amateur, given that he's had hundreds?

I can only wonder with trepidation what this will bring. Excuse me for a moment, someone from the Department of Homeland Insecurity is knocking on my door. Be right ba.....

Congrats on the new tag, Dan!

Thanks for posting this Joanne.

I am sure they will have a lot of these issues ironed out before our cruise. As with anything new, you don't know what the kinks are until they arise. Knowing that many Disney top execs we on board, I'm sure the issues will be solved soon. They can also pick up fresh provisions at each port so I'm sure the food will be top knotch.

I agree, Dan. That is part of the reason we also picked 7/28. We figured that by then, everything would go smoothly. But we were thinking more about the excursions, not the running of the ship.

Harole Anne would you still like to meet at the Grand Marina for a drink on the Friday?

It is too nice of a day to feel sad!:wizard: Get away from the computer, go outside and enjoy the sunshine for awhile. Everything will look much better when you come back inside!:grouphug: Take good care of yourself!

Well, we can hope things will improve; however, our last Disney Cruise left a lot to be desired in the food department. If it had been our first Disney Cruise, I would have been very disappointed. Every night there was some sort of steak selection on the menu and that was the only thing that saved the day! It was not a good menu and that was March, 2006. Palo was excellent as always, but that is only one night!:goodvibes
