He Justinewhen you say the 2006 10 day holiday cruise do you mean the one that left Port Canaveral Dec 16th 2006 ? If so WE WERE ON THAT CRUISE !!!

Yes! It seems like too long ago now..... It was great wasn't it? so nice to have more days. Went to Aston Villa's ground few weeks back and woman sitting in front of us turned round and said- excuse me, were you on disney cruise at Christmas? !!!! small world!

I came back from a DCL Western cruise and saw two Chef's from the Magic a few days later!

Ok so I'm back in now....how fustrating was that.

Anyway I've done as I was told and added my name to my sig so now you all know who you're talking to.

So sorry Andrew to see that you're not feeling well. I gues that you're not taking advatage of the glorious weather today if you're not feeling 100%.

BTW I forgot to post before our stateroom for this cruise is no. 8564

Hi Izzie - do you watch Grey's Anatomy? - always wanted to use that name - I like it. Hope you don't mind! :) Sorry - I think I may have addressed you one time as your husband. No harm meant! Also, just in case you didn't read it - the boards go down every night at a specific time. For me, since I'm on the West Coast it is usually 12:22. You'll have to check with Andrew or Helen or someone from your side of the pond as to when the down time is. Sorry!

Laura, my sister who travels a lot swears by Airborne . . . she takes it before the flight, on the flight, and once or twice a day as a precaution. I prefer Emergen-C, which comes in little packets you mix in water. I usually drink one before bed while on vacation, more if I feel I am coming down with something.

Andrew, my oldest daughter gets motion sickness and uses the sea bands with success. She also uses chewable ginger (the ones here are called Chimes) which has immediate stomach soothing effects.

Cool - have heard about Airborne but was afraid to try and the sea bands work but not as fast unless you put them on first thing in the am.

Andrew- DH gets carsick, bussick, trainsick, seasick, small boat sick and airplane sick which is a major drain on me when we traveled all together as he'd have to fall asleep in order not to get sick and one of the major reasons he's not doing the repo back in addition to his working. Anyway, for some reason - on the big boat he doesn't either. On our Alaska trip he did either but we sailed in the inside passage which was a lot smoother and therefore a big reason I think he didn't get sick. We usually try and stick to deck 2 and inside for this reason also. As you said - must be the stablizers.

Talking daughters sorry I missed it earlier.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ELIZABETH DD OF Julie! Have some :cake:

Hi to everyone going on the Disney Magic 28th July, we have just booked yesterday and cant wait!!
Have just finished reading all your postings and its interesting to see how many holidays poeple go on!! espcially Andrew(do you ever have time for work)!! Fair play to you !!
We have never cruised with DCL before although we have stayed at Disney world Wilderness Lodges many times and are looking forward to the Disney cruise experience.
Question for Andrew
We have always had a fantastic time at Disney and find it difficult to see how this can be re created on a cruise ship, how does the quality of the entertainment and service compare to that of the parks and resorts?
If any one has any good tips( we have 2 chilren aged 11 and 8) or can recomend a good hotel in Barcelona as we fly out 2 days early it would be great to hear from you.

Paul.

:welcome: Aboard Paul -

JoAnn its another Brit! LOL - Paul - you are one brave man to have read all those posts - how long it'd take ya? Thanks for introducing yourself, glad you could join and don't worry - we are all asking the same questions! Congrats and your in for the best holiday of your life! DCL is great and although it seems as if they have all new staff, I'm sure they will be trained right by the time we get there. Right folks? DH and I have about 11 or 12 cruises under us and the kids have anywhere from 6 - 8 under them.

DCL is the only cruise where I will allow my kids to go on. DD14 (youngest) started out in the baby club as we went in the first month of its inaugural. We were suppposed to be on the inaugural but they had problems and kept delaying. When they finally debuted, it was on my b-day and I didn't want to miss out. :headache: Darnbut me didn't realize they celebrate on their too so now I try and spend my birthdays there. Care to weather a guess where I'll be next year? :rolleyes1

Take a look on page 1 and you'll figure it out!

Once again - :welcome: aboard!

I didn't know that!

Thx for the tip!

Yes the Magic is fine DD only gets car sick, and small boat sick, that was one of the reasons I avoided CAPRI, as I know that boat would set her off, it was the only one that set me off,

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)
113321424_front-thumb.jpg
Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card. The badge reel is not heavy duty. It is a light string and is made to hold the weight of your badge holder.
