Hi Robin

The weather has been mixed. On the crossing, it was cool and a little rough most of the days. But now that we are in the Med, it's warmer and very calm.

The Castaway Club gift was a leather travel document wallet.

Tomorrow is our last sea day before Barcelona. One cruise is almost over - one still to go!

Wow so soon....at least you have another one to look forward to
That is what I hate about DCL 7 day cruises no sooner are you on and than before you have a good chance to get your sea legs your getting off.

That is why we wanted to do 14 days (back to back) for the MR cruise. Will just have to settle with 7 days at DL and the surrounding parks before the cruise....still 14 days

So is the next one for 11 days sailing around the Med? Does that start Saterday?

Yes it does. Spent the day today in Barcelona and the new crowd gets on tomorrow (Saturday) for the 11 day. There are about 300 of us doing the back to back.

How cool....300 of you is a lot!!!! If your going all that way that is the only way to go. That is what we would have done. Wish they would come out with these great cruises when school is out. Theses days kids go back to school earlier than when we did. No more 3 month summer vacations. Lucky to get 6 weeks.

So even all the way over there you just can't keep yourself away from the DIS Has this cruise been all you thought it would be so far?

Hi Ken,
How is your second cruise going? Was very crowded here in San Diego for Memorial day. WE opened our pool today for the summer and heated it and the kids went in and we had a barbaque(sp)

Would rather have been on the Magic in the Med however

Offically booked this one whilst on the Magic Crossing, now to swichit to DVC points.

In a Cat 7.

OK Lynn switched us over to DVC points, saved a whopping 7 points each on our reservation for pre-booking the cruise. Maybe the “Best Kept Secret” is yes you can use your points for a cruise and the real secret is don’t plan on any other perks the cash paying folks get. Letter to DVC to follow. Sorry for the sour grapes but I know I am not the only one to feel this way. Oh yes I forgot, book early with cash and switch to points you loose your stateroom credit.

Anyway it will be a great cruise.

OK a serious question: Any recommendation for a hotel near the port for the night before this cruise?? Also which airport would be the best LAX can be a pain, Orange County???

Hi Scott,
We were booked for a back to back but the points were to many. We could have used them all but than would not be able to use thenm for DL this summer. We have used some during spring break and will use bunch more for the summer and than for 7 days next suumer concierge before the cruise.

If we used all our pts we could not take those 3 trips. Plus would have had to use all of 2008 pts and that would stink. How was your cruise? Did you have a great time.

Worry not the others will return after they get done cruising hte Med.

I am still very happy with DVC, best thing I have ever done vacation wise.

Same here. It's nice to just say "Lets go to DL for a week and stay at the Grandcalifornian" we can get reservations in just a few days in advance it's great. It's like staying at a $400 a night hotel for free even though we know that were really not.

We have 400 pts and want to add more but want to finish paying them off first. Friends of ours save up $$$ as if to pay for a cruise than use there pts and with the $$$ they saved for the cruise they buy more pts...sounds like a smart way to do it. We would like a total of about 700. Do you mind me asking how many pts you have?

A few will tell ya in person. I just don't like posting that info. Hope ya understand. We are comfortable in our number of points.

Hi everyone

We are almost home. We are in a van with about 20 minutes to go. 26 days on the Magic was great, but we are both ready to get home.

While we enjoyed the 11 day med cruise. I think it had to many ports. It just didn't give you enough time on the ship. I've also decided that I don't like afternoon excursions. Just to rushed in the afternoon.
