We are bringing our grandson, Aaron with us. Just booked him a couple of weeks ago. He is 11. Can you add him to our room, please? Thanks

MrsMork - I take it you snagged a spot on the Hawaii trip...;)

:woohoo::banana: We did!! I am SO excited about that one....15 nights. :dance3: It was only about $500 more than this 7 night.

Will add Aaron!

I am so jealous about the Hawaii cruise - but we just couldn't do the timing. Kids don't get that long for spring break and I can't take leave until June next year. Will have to live vicariously! Hopefully since it sold out the first day, Disney will see there's a market for it and offer more. Although, I'd love it if they would do it one way - then we could stay at Aulani too!!!:thumbsup2

That would be ideal, wouldn't it!!

Hi everyone! I'm on this cruise but have really been slacking on joining in on the board! My name is Kelley, and I am a gold Castaway Club member, which means I was able to book excursions and Palo last night.

I wanted to report in to let you guys know that many excursions and Palo reservations were available. I did notice that the 3 port packages were already taken as was a Whale Watching and Salmon Bake excursion in one of the ports.

I was able to get Palo dinner and brunch for the 5 adults in our party. Also our group booked 2 excursions in Skagway, which were early morning dogsledding then the White Pass train and trail camp later in the day. In Juneau we are doing the Enchanted Taku Lodge, and in Ketchikan we are doing the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's tour. I'm really excited to have it all booked and done!

If anyone has any questions just let me know. The times for our excursions exactly matched what was posted on the boards by someone from a previous cruise. I'm not sure if that is true for all excursions, but it was for the ones I booked. Hope this info is helpful! :goodvibes

I can't believe there are only 30 pages of threads. Must be a lot of shy people on this cruise.

We can't book until later this month; however, I'm interested in seeing the times for the excursions. Can you please tell me where you found the times posted by someone from a previous cruise?

We're also still trying to decide what hotel to book. If I can get that done, I think I'll feel better.

Welcome newcomers!!!!

Thanks for the tips on excursions Stitches - much appreciated. We are silver so will wait a little longer to get to choose.

It has been a very quiet board, despite a fairly full cruise - not sure why actually...But we at least have a FE exchange going, so let me know if you'd like to be included in that.

Hope we can get everyone chiming in here soon to get more posts going! :thumbsup2

I can tell you the times we picked. I can't remember all the choices. Other than that I can't help you. Sorry.
Skagway - All Aboard Steam Train 11:45-4:15
Juneau - Mendenhall Glacier by Helicopter and Guided Walk 12:00-2:30
Ketchikan - Lighthouse, Totems and Eagles 11:45-3:15

Thanks for the link. We wanted to do two excursions in Ketchikan - Disney Exclusive: Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour and Dinner with the Crew and The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show; however, they overlap each other. Guess we'll have to make a choice between the two.

We would love to do the dog sledding, but it's SO expensive.

This board is VERY quiet. I hope it's not a sign of how the cruise will be. We went to Alaska on Princess in 2009 and it was a very quiet ship.

I'm starting to get worried that the whale watching excursion we want in Juneau will be booked already. I can't reserve until the end of this month......I may look into alternative tours. I really want to do the whale watching and I understand Juneau is the best......anyone have any idea?

I also really want to do the Palo brunch and a couple spa treatments, but we may have to wait to get onboard to do that if there isn't any availability. I don't know what first time cruisers do! They must not have anything left to book!

The times on some are different.....so you may still be in luck....but I know that we arrive in Ketchikan at 1:45 and leave at 7:30....

Our cruise on the 19th does not have the Sea Bering cruise with the dinner...that is only every other week...so you should have it on yours. If by chance it gets all filled up before you book it...you can still go on the other one without the dinner. In addition if both get filled up you can book the excursion by yourself.

for us(on the 19th) DCL excursion for this is at 3:45-7:45(without dinner).....this allows 15 minutes for walking to the Sea Bering tour from the ship to the excursion which is a ships length away. They will be on the 4-7:30 excursion and so will many of our cruise mates in my thread....not only is it cheaper but also dont have to wait in that stupid room for everyone to walk together.

The Sea Bering boat owner holds back about 30 seats from the cruises for passengers that want to book on their own, or are just in Alaska touring around or others from other ships that also want to book on their own. They put you on the same time with them. My family of 4 will save $80 booking by ourselves. It will not just be DCL folks on that boat...And if I am correct the only thing exclusive about the DCL dinner one is the dinner itself.

You may have notices that the excursion ends at 7:45 and DCL sails at 7:30....well they wont be because the boat gets back at 7:30 and the extra 15 minutes is for walking back. DCL can make that time up in a heart beat.

I will get you the link if anyone is interested. This way you can concentrate on everything else that you want to book...Oh and also...you have up to 7 days prior excursion to cancel...with only a $25 fee per party...not per person...per party. :thumbsup2

here is the link to the company to call toll free...if you leave a message they are prompt at calling you back...and her name is "Meg" she is very nice....and also this is only the one that is not with the dinner(Disney exclusive)...just the regular one....hope this was helpful.

I'm a worrier myself...trust me I can obsess over things! LOL. I was worried that even at gold level I wouldn't get what I wanted, but I did. It's stressful sometimes!!! This is actually the first time I've had gold status.

The good thing about Alaska is, there are so many amazing adventures offered. I really had a hard time picking, because one thing seemed better than the next! I think you will be fine, and I'm sure whatever excursion you pick will be great. Just make some back-up plans for other things you could book. My philosophy is, go ahead and book an excursion, because you can always cancel it (within DCL's guidelines, of course). As far as Palo, I've found that they almost always can squeeze you in sometime if you put a request in once your onboard.
