July 23, 2005 West Coast Cruise

Wendym - We never received our Castaway cards either. I called and they gave me our numbers over the phone. They were very nice about helping me. I hope that helps you!

Many thanks for the advice re the number. However must admit I am too lazy (and the international calls are costly LOL!). We always get the castaway gift so that is what matters.

YEAH!! I was able to book everything online this morning :Pinkbounc and got what we wanted!!!! The only thing I couldn't book was the rasual treatment in the spa (It is not offered online). Oh well, I am so excited about being able to get on the ship and not have to rush to do anything. The way I am looking at it is if I get to the spa and they still have openings, then we'll book it, if not, oh well. By the way, we booked the Paradise Beach Adventure in Puerta Vallarta and the Family Ranch in Matazlan. :bounce:

I was looking at the Marietas Snorkel & Kayak Tour! It sounds like you would recommend it? The dolphins sound great too. A little pricey but may be worth it. We have never been to any of the stops on the cruise. I am originally from Whittier, CA. We are combining our trip to see family, most likely before the cruise. Can't wait!

I didn't orignally see this thread. We are going on this week also. I see that you posted that you are orignally from Whittier, CA. That is where we currently live.

We are only doing one of the excursions in Mazatlan. It would be great to meet others on the cruise. I am travelling with my DH, DD8 and my sister who will be joining us from Az. for the occasion. her first Disney Cruise.

Just a question as I am relatively new to this board. Does anyone from the board ever link their seating assignments together so they have someone fun and interesting to talk to at dinner time? I have been on several cruises. On a lot of them, practically no one spoke to each other at dinner. It made it really stressful.

Just curious.

:cheer2: Come on July 23rd!

This is my first cruise so I'm not sure if I would prefer a table alone for the four of us or brave it and hopefully meet some new people. By the way, we're practically neighbors. We live in Bellflower and my dh works in Santa Fe Springs which is close to you.

I believe we are 60 days away now!!! I've already started on my packing list. This is getting exciting!

Diana

We are indeed neighbors! I live on the border of Whittier and Sante Fe Springs. I grew up in Norwalk/La Mirada.

I know what you mean about starting the shopping list. As I see things at the store, I am grabbing them. I bought some 1 load pkgs of Tide to do any laundry we need to on the ship. It was suggested tobring it with you as it was cheaper then on board.

I know what you mean about the dining situation. Only a few time have I had the ship gives us our own table. I am almost always assigned with a large group which wouldn't be bad but it seems like everyone just talks to their family.

Counting days!

Hi all
As it is just the two of us Mum and I are always with other people - most times it works out fantastically and we really look forward to our evening meals.
Five weeks tomorrow I fly to WDW - we are finishing our vacation with the cruise!

A Little Pixie Dust....Hi! I am in La Mirada right now! I'm not on your cruise though. I peek in here on this thread now and then! I grew up here also....I went to Neff. How about you?

I went to La Mirada High ..class of 84. Sorry you wont be on our cruise..would have been kinda fun!

Desiree

Hi to A Litle Pixie Dust and pppiglet. I grew up in La Mirada and now live near the Whittier/La Mirada border. We're on this cruise (23rd) too. Did either of you go to Ports of Call for the Magic send off? It was sure nice to see the Magic without having to fly to Florida.

No, we did not go down to the send off. I am already jealous! You must be right down the street from me at the La Mirada/Whittier border. We are at Mills/Telegraph.

We would love to meet some of you on the cruise or if anyone is interested in seating together for dinner - please let me know. It would be great to sit with some Disney fans!

Hey everyone! I'm still trying to figure out what excursions to do. Have any of you booked any so far?

So funny that we are all near each other. My dh works off of Telegraph. Are any of you going with younger children? My dd is 6 and my ds will be almost 5 at the time of the cruise. We're considering the swim with dolphins in Puerto Vallarta for them. I'm waiting to hear reviews of the cruisers from the first few cruises before I book but I'm afraid of there not being any space if I wait.

~52 Days to go~

My DD is 8. She will be in the new age group of 8-9. We thought about the swim with dolphins. The only excursion we are booked on is in Mazatlan..for the Folkloric (?) dancers and cliff divers. My daughter loves to watch the dancing.

My ds is 5 and will be in the same group as your children. We are doing the paradise beach adventure in PV and the mexican family ranch in Mazatlan. We only decided to the ranch excursion after attend something similar in Hawaii and having a great time. Let me know what you decide to do.

A little pixie dust... I didn't make to the send off either. But I did get married in that church "faith Lutheran" on mills and telegraph. What a small world!

Then you were practically at my house! A lot of my girl scout troop goes to school there!

Did anyone else book a gty room for this cruise and if so, have you gotten your cabin assignments? We booked a category 12 gty and are hoping to get our cabin assignments as we have 3 cabins traveling together.

We will be on the July 23rd cruise. First time on a Disney Cruise for us. Me, my DH, daughter(10) and son (8). A little hard to choose what excursion to go on. I think we are going to do the Pirate Sail & Snorkel in PV, Folkloric Show & Beach Break in Mazatlan and I tried to book the Cabo Beach break yesterday but it wouldn't let me, for now I booked the Cabo resort pool getaway. Sounds like fun, can't wait.

We went to Ports O' Call for lunch today. We drove by the Magic and my kids were sooo excited. I can't wait to get on! :Pinkbounc When we drove over the Vincent Thomas Bridge we got a good view of the ship. My son who is 4 screamed WOOOAH Look at that slide :sunny:

We still haven't decided on our excursions. That's my goal for tomorrow. I want to get all the plans done for the week by this weekend!
