July 2015 Car Rental Code Watch...hoping there is not already one!

Not sure what I am doing wrong but when I plugged in my dates for July pick up at Dolphin 7/26 and return MCO 8/1 with free upgrade costco ID was over $600.00 fullsize WOW!! If I pick up and Drop off at MCO it was $378. If I pick up at Dolphin and return at Dolphin it was $328. We will be at the Wilderness lodge from 7/19 to 7/26 then we head to Vero Beach. thru 8/1. Normally I drive down from Va. But was thinking of flying and renting a car this time. Would love to pick up on property and drop off at MCO but $600 is way to high....

Renting both ways at MCO may be your best option in the long run. Keep checking rates. They change all of the time. I always book one as soon as I know I get my flight. Then I check every day and change it when the price drops.

Still checking every day. Still can't beat the rate I got from carrentalsavers.com ($224 for 8 days). I am checking Costco Travel, Dollar, AAA and Entertainment card link.. I also check Thrifty, Alamo and AARP but not every day.

July car rental rates are ridiculous right now. I booked a mid SUV a few weeks ago for $277 with taxes. I keep checking to get lower and it's $348 and higher.

I noticed that too. I am glad I have one reserved already.

Yeah, I am sitting at $213 for a full size car, was really hoping to get it under $200 but every time I check prices are going in the wrong direction!

Sorry to get your hopes up. Prices still up. I will post immediately if prices drop. The best rates tonight were on carrentalsavers.com. It was about $260 for an 8 day rental. Costco travel was almost $290. Costco does include second driver though.

haha, me too! I finally decided to book at the Four Points near Universal after our stay there. To rent out out of MCO was costing about $200 more!!! Crazy. So got a 9 day full size for $290. Still higher than I would like, so I will keep checking and post if I see any better rates. At this point I am hoping for a good last minute deal.

I am finding crazy prices! I need to pick up a car after our Disney cruise in Port Canaveral on July 29th and then drop it off at Ft. Lauderdale on August 2nd. All I am getting is prices in the $400. Yikes!

Booked mid size with visa and Costco discount from July 24 thru July 28 for $201.87. We have a car booked Memorial Day weekend for about half that price so I am hoping it goes down

Just entered my dates into carrentalsavers, July 3-July 10 and if I was wanting to book through a company that requires a shuttle then Fox came up ranging from $56.16 for economy-full size, $66.70 for premium, $110.05 for SUV. This is my first time ever renting a car so I think I want the ability to just walk out of the terminal to the garage but wow! What a steal for anyone comfortable with Fox, especially the way the prices have been lately!

I think this was programming mistake. Fox had the rates pulled a few hours ago. I did book a SUV for 8 days at $125 (including tax) before they took it down. I am not going to cancel my Alamo reservation just yet. I need to find out more about Fox. The internet reviews are not too good but then again, most rental companies don't have good reviews.

Just scored a nice unexpected $800 from an impromptu yard sale. Selling off all of the kid's baby stuff after a vasectomy assured we won't need it again! LOL

Rolling that onto a Disney trip we didn't plan for. I like the flight prices for July 29-Aug 7 on southwest, but these car rental prices are INSANE. I'll be watching this thread. PLEASE somebody find us a good code! : )

Still nothing. Our SW airfare dropped and we each received a credit of $46.00. I was so hoping we would see some car rental drops!!

I had a compact for July 29 to Aug 5 reserved with Alamo through Costco Travel for $331. I have been stalking this thread....and other places in hopes to get lower. So the Mousesavers site lists this:

• WestJet “guests” can save on rentals with BCD code A376100 at Budget. You don’t have to prove that you have flown with this Canadian airline to use the ID #. Thanks to Tammy C for info.

I just tried this WestJet code and got $303 with Budget for a compact. Is it worth saving $30 to use this code??? Anyone know anything about the WestJet code??
