July 2013 car rentals

Certainly prices are coming down. I had priced a crown victoria for 10 days a while back, and it was well over $500. I just checked car rentals.com and it is now:
1 Week @ $162.56/week
3 Extra Days @ $22.94/day$231.38
Estimated taxes & fees FACILITY CHARGE$12.50CONCESSION FEE REC$24.21ENERGY RECOVERY FEE$4.50FLORIDA SURCHARGE$20.20STATE TAX$19.43VEHICLE LICENSE FEE$6.20Estimated taxes & fees:$87.04
Estimated total for car rental*:$318.42
Prices are in USD

YEP...I just used carrentals.com and got a fullsize thru Thrifty for 10days for $299.74 so we are definitely seeing prices drop. I wonder why the actual rental companies are more expensive then carrentals, hotwire and others?? :scratchin

I just changed my Dollar reservations from the BJ's code to carrentals.com and saved about $70 for a premium 8-day rental. Thanks for the tip!

For my minivan the second week, BJ's beat the carrentals.com price by more than $100.

Using the Alamo Insider rate plus coupon code AD2338FDF I got a rate of $50 less than I had been able to find elsewhere for 1 week 6 days mini van rental out of Long Beach CA. At $654.30 for 13 nights (that's $328.97 per week) for a mini van with unlimited mileage, I figure I'll get it lower than this by the time we go but it's better than nothing for now. Other than signing up with Alamo, you don't need any kind of memberships or affiliations for this.

Wow my 10 day rental just jumped up to over $700 using the Rate code AD2338FDF and the Alamo Insider Discount.....I guess I better keep trying!! This is hysterical !!! :rotfl2:

same here. 10 day rental using alamo insider contract id and $30 coupon code AD2338fdf - $675 for an economy car.

Booked a MiniVan out of Sanford with the Vroom Vroom code for June 16 pick up. Ran every code out there and this came up the best. Seems odd that is has insurance included, normally a sign of a company code? Anyone use this code? Anyone been turned away with this code?

Whats going on with these rates. :confused3 I would think we should have something by now. Usually I have something decent booked by May for July vacation. Has anyone looked at the May and June thread to see what kind of rates they are getting at this point. Most of them are less than a month away from vacation. Some of their rates should give us an idea.

ok just got a rate of $204.39 for one week midsize SUV on Alamo using Contract ID (vroom, vroom rate) 299851 and coupon code AD2338FDF!

Do I need to bring the copuon with me?? Thanks

What is that coupon? Is it open to the public? If so, it gives me a rate about $100 lower than what I had with Dollar.

Found it with Google. It is a public code. The only requirement is that you pay for the rental with a Visa card. Since we're using our Disney Visa, we're all set. Thanks for finding me some savings, LuvAriel!

I have tried a couple of times to get a new quote with that coupon code and it keeps telling me that it is at capacity. Weird. . .but I'm glad it works for you. I think that is the coupon I used for my current July reservation.

Prices are still too outrageous for us!

ITA! Last year we nabbed a four day mid-size rental from National for $98---this year so far it's 100% PLUS more expensive. Not liking the rates out there whatsoever! PLEASE bring on some good CODES!!!!:hourglass
