July 2012. Yes it was hot. Yes it was crowded. Yes it was FUN! ***COMPLETED***

Awesome update Suzi!

Num... I tried so many of those same foods too... I remember loving the cold curry salad... and one of the desserts (not the zebra domes though). I want to say that there was something warm that I loved too - maybe a rice dish? I'd have to go back and read my TR to remember. LOL

Boma is on my list of possibilities for our next trip...and let me tell you, your pictures are moving right on up in the rankings! ::yes::

OH - and I need to go find that butternut squash soup recipe... We have oodles of butternut squash coming from our garden, and we are trying to figure out what to do with it... That soup sounds just perfect!

Yes, I know - 3 replies right in a row... I missed these the first 2 tries.

I can't say enough about those bags! They are just wonderful. Disney has some nice bags too, but it is great to have an original.

Great update, Suzi. We've never done Boma for dinner (I'd be one of those just getting the meats because I don't like things with all those different flavors). I was NOT a fan of the Zebra Domes either, so I'm glad to have some company in that category.

Well it's nice to know I'm not alone on the ZDomes. I felt really bad that I didn't like them since they get so much praise on here, I tried...I really tried. It isn't like I hate them, but I'm just not a fan of liquor soaked things :confused3

You guys should try Boma for dinner....I have no doubts you could find lots that you like. I was worried a little, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Oh, sorry, I wish I had some decor pictures because that place was just amazingly beautiful!

:rolleyes1popcorn:::rolleyes: Geez...welcome to the D~ report! :rotfl2:

Kidding! Kidding! And yes, you should find the recipe for that soup....it was awesome! I know it's somewhere online because I saw it before I left. Maybe on the DisneyFoodBlog or something?? Yum...I want some ::yes::

Great update! We haven't tried Boma for dinner yet only breakfast which we absolutely loved!! I have been hesitant for dinner because my boys are not adventurous eaters. But, I'm glad to hear there seems to be something for everyone. I just may have to put it on our list for next trip!!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear what you thought of the Dessert Party.:)

Boma for breakfast is on my list next trip ::yes::

Dessert Party was awesome and well worth the hassle booking and price. That's coming up next...hopefully tomorrow :thumbsup2

Great pictures of your Boma dishes - I miss Boma.

I have to say, y'all showed great self control with your servings for each plate. By my second plate, I was just piling everything on top of everything else. :rotfl2:

Solana - I hear you on wanting to stay at all of the resorts. After you visit for Brk, Lch or Dinner you just want to check in and stay the night. The food looks great, I will have to try squeezing Boma in on our next visit.

Let's try this... The next time we go to Disney, lets just take a backpack with a few things. Book one night at all of the resorts, when we leave the resort for the park in the morning, check out. take a break in the afternoon and check into the next resort. And so on and so on. Who know's it sounds like a lot of wasted time and work but it could be possible. :rotfl2:

No need for the backpack....bell services are wonderful and I'm sure they could transfer our bags every day :thumbsup2 Sounds like a plan!

Can anyone say RESORT CRAWL?

Fun fun fun!

I am ready, if my DD was a little older - I would give it a try, maybe changing every other night. I'm with you, think it would be fun...

After Boma, we hopped back tot he resort to rest and let that wonderful meal settle a little. Then grabbed a bus to MK around 7ish. Or Dessert Party was at 9 with Wishes at 10 and we were told we should be there around 8:30. Why we needed to be there a half hour before they opened was beyond me because we had assigned seats :confused3

We played around in TomorrowLand for a bit before party time. Watched the Monsters Inc show (neither one of us were picked on) and rode the PeopleMover. I think everything else was too busy, but by then it was around 8:45, so we headed over to the TomorrowLand Terrace. We were the second people in "line" when they opened up the gates and were shown to the best table in the house.

Right in the front row on the left side (closest to the castle)...it was a great spot! See our view...

We wasted no time at all getting our first load of yummies

I couldn't believe the spread they had! I wish I had taken pictures of the buffet itself, but by the time I thought of it there were too many people swarming around it. But they had every kind of dessert you could think of and lots of drink options.

Here's a couple photopass pics from that night.

I met Kristen "the Frump" (DisneyFreak616) at the party too. This was before I knew I should take pictures of DISmeets, so I have no proof...but I did...I swear!

I highly recommend the Dessert Party. It is not included in the dining plan...so plan accordingly, but it is very much worth the extra money. The booking is a little different than with normal ADRs because they don't open it up until much closer. I think I booked July 21 at the beginning of June or something.

Just so you know...even though we had the best seat in the house and could've watched the show from our seats...everyone gets up and stands by the railing once the MM&Y starts. It was no big deal and there is plenty of room for the small amount of people there, but I just wanted you to know. Make sure when you see people getting up, you go grab a spot too.

Just a couple more shots from our table....

After the show was over, we headed out the TomorrowLand side of the Terrace. I was a little afraid of how bad it would be getting out, but everyone was going around through Main Street and out and we were staying for EMHs, so it was easy peasy. We first ran over to Carousel of Progress to let the crowds die down a little. I had never seen this ride, and it was so great!

Then we tried Astro Orbitor :scared1: I thought it would be the same thing as Dumbo/Carpets/Triceratops but boy was I wrong! It was soooooo fast at the end I almost threw up! But it was fun and while standing in line we met a great family that we just kept meeting all night.

From the Orbitor, we headed over to Adventure Land to ride the Jungle Cruise. I had heard it was a totally different ride at night, and we hadn't gotten to it that day. It was really funny and even though I was attacked by a tree frog (very traumatic) and everyone laughed at me, we made it through.

We jumped on Pirates then Splash

And didn't really feel like waiting in line for Thunder Mountain, so we headed back to Tomorrowland to see how Space was doing. It was walk on and we rode it back to back. We played around in the MK until the 2 am closing time. It was so neat to be some of the last ones there.

One thing I can say was the buses were all out waiting for us and we just walked right on (only time the whole week that happened). We were both so tired, but it was standing room only and there were people who needed those seats more than us, so we both stood for the short ride back "home".

It was a wonderful night and such a magical way to watch Wishes. Up next....AK at opening.

What a fantastic update! :thumbsup2 I know who you are referring to when you say Kristen "the Frump"! I read her and Jesse's TR's...those girls know how to have fun! :lmao: So cool that you got to meet her at the Dessert Party. Was that a planned Dismeet or did you just recognize her?

GREAT PP pics and you and Dani! It looks like it was such a magical night. pixiedust: I just may have to consider the dessert party next time. We did the Pirate and Pals cruise last time, and I do believe we may now be spoiled on watching the fireworks without fighting those pesky crowds. :snooty: :rotfl2:

Very cute Splash pic too. I must remember to take pirated ride pics next time. :lmao: We just love the parks after hours. :cloud9:

Thanks! I knew Kristen was at WDW because of reading her TRs. And I had seen her running through the Contemporary earlier that week. But I didn't know she was going to be at the Dessert Party and I just recognized her. She knew who I was and we chatted a little, but they were just starting the show, so we clamped up and watched :)

Oh, I bet the cruise was great too. I loved being right there still by the castle, but out of the crowds. I will shoot for this party every time we go now. So much easier!

It is sometimes hard to get the ride photos (especially with all the tour groups) but the CMs don't care. I had one even help me get a better angle :thumbsup2

Actually - I think you'd be surprised. :crazy2:

I am ready, if my DD was a little older - I would give it a try, maybe changing every other night. I'm with you, think it would be fun...

Just enjoy your dd right now... seriously... My girls are 13 & 14, and on our last trip, I had a strike of reality hit me, and I realized I will only have them to myself for a few more years - then they will be off on their own... I have many regrets of missed memories. :( So, now I am trying to smother them with as much motherly love as I can give them... :crowded: Guess how much they love that? :rotfl2:

Suzie - How awesome that you got to meet a Frump! I love sneaking in to read Jesse's TRs... I hardly ever comment, and some times I fall severly behind (like now) - but they are so much fun to read! Maybe some day I will meet someone famous too! :thumbsup2

Ack... Better crawl back to my sewing room - there's work to be done if there's a trip to take... :worship:

D~

Solana - WOOOOOW !!!! The desserts look so wonderful, Dang lady you could have asked Midori and I to join you and your cousin for dessert.

I would have paid for it all.... HA!!!!!! you are saying "Now you tell me"

DD and I have really enjoyed your TR... I am going to have to come up with a new format for next year.. Bring on AK,can't wait..
