July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

I just saw a preview of Tangled (looking up info for the movie) and it reminded me how much I LOVE that movie!!!

Are they selling it at WDW by any chance?

Getting close to being ready, guess I'll do the online check in today. Not sure it saves much time at the desk after arriving. Hoping the room will be ready early so we can nap a little before heading to the park Thursday.

Glad to see everyone is having a good time. Sure hope the thunderstorms let up a bit, I know it rains almost everyday there in July but it looks like they are predicting storms not just rain.

We did the online check-in ever since it was offered. And it goes great for us. You get there and they give you your room key right away after signing papers. Saves some time since most of the time our room is ready right away.

Google+ = Google's latest stab at social networking competition for Facebook. Right now it's still beta, but they're allowing invitations, so if you know someone who is on it, they can invite you and you can check it out.

Thanks. Not sure if I need to sign up for another thing. I can hardly keep up with FB:lmao:

Since I'm a new DVC member and this is my first stay on points, I have a question! HELP!!

How do you guys bring all the shampoo, bodywash, soap, conditioner, (laundry soap), etc that you won't be receiving from the hotel and you don't have a car to get? How do you bring it all? It's making my suitcases heavy. No it's NOT the 5 pairs of flipflops I have and the 4 pairs dd has! It HAS to be the shampoo and stuff. Sheesh! Should I not pack the sunscreen? Ok, nevermind that silly question! ACk! I'm panicking a bit here.

Even before we were DVC members I always brought my own stuff. But I usually pack them in Ziplock bags just in case they leak. And usually one does on every trip.

As for laundry soap I buy the 3 in 1 laundry sheets. I still have a ton left over from last year so I am just going to bring them.

I still do the online check in but on our last trip, we arrived around 11pm and it took over an hour to get our room and my mom's room right. :mad:Finally get to the room and our key does not work. The kids are crying because they are so tired and took another 20 minutes to get the keys.:headache: I am hoping this trip to AKL will be better.

I never bothered bringing my own stuff, because I don't mind the stuff the stuff they have at WDW (especially the H2O stuff in the deluxes LOL), so I never bothered. Okay, have to put the ziploc bags on my shopping list, thanks :)

I did buy the 3 in one laundry sheets but am wondering how well they work? Fine I suppose, if you're bringing them back :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Now I have am having a whole. This stuff is making my cases heavier. I'm almost all packed, will finish today. I'll probably spend tomorrow repacking and redistributing because I'm relatively sure the first back I packed is signifiantly overweight:scared1:

Thanks for not mentioning our abudance of shoes. Poor DH is having a heart attack over all the shoes ::sigh:: He just does not get us at all.:confused3

Bob thanks for posting the link to your TR:goodvibes

:lmao: I am not much of a shoe person but we do seem to be bring down alot of shoes too.

The laundry sheets do work well. I don't think I would use them for everyday but when on vacation they seem to work fine. I also bought Spray&Wash stick that you can rub on the stains. The laundry sheets were not that great at getting out food stains.

Yes, but I only remember seeing the non-Blu-Ray version (the other may have been there but I can't remember). Also, you can probably get it cheaper at home.

We loved "Tangled". Loved it.

Carrie - I had forgotten a couple of things on the trip report. Please go back and read it - at the bottom of the page. You will think it is very funny.

I am getting very anxious as I leave Tuesday with 2 DD's and 1 DGD then the rest leave Tursday. Wish my oldest could fly becasue I would prefer flying. Trying to finish laundry :laundy: the old fashion way as it is so hot here I can't run my dryer and air conditioner at the same time. It keeps blowing a fuse. Don't want to call an electrician before vacation either. I have clothes hanging everywhere to dry, looks crazy in here.

Praying everyone has safe travels that hasn't went yet. I am curious if the weather is stopping the parades, outdoor shows and such from happening.

Hi all!

I'm home and napped, now!

We got there and were immediately hit with a snafu - someone's brother didn't bother to notice what time our flight was arriving. Nor did he bring his phone with him in to the park. Nor did he notice that his wife had the incorrect number for me in her cell phone.

That was after we'd waited FORTY FIVE minutes for our luggage. With two Brazilian (not to be confused with two bazilian) tour groups on our flight - though, to be fair, Quietest. Flight. Ever. to Disney.

But we walked on to the ME bus. I walked up to the check-in counter. Even though I had done online check-in, the person I was dealing with had no problem moving me from the second floor to the first (my TA swore she contacted special needs and I don't doubt her!).

Otherwise, of note, the heat was BRUTAL. I am not likely to be returning in this time of the year, as every day had a heat index over 100. Aside from being just hot and sweaty, it also made me moderately ill if I ate food heavier than a salad. Boooooring. Hahaha.

The foreign tour groups that I saw were well behaved. The obnoxious ones were the loud and foul mouthed Americans (though, perhaps the non-Americans were foul, too, but I wouldn't know). They were everywhere, though.

My niece was very hot in her carrier but she also really really hates the stroller if she's not constantly on the move. So being held allowed her more interaction. She charmed most of the waitstaff, conning one into a glow cube. She immediately took to me, so we had fun. She'd play peek-a-boo with me when I wore a hat (like, she'd pull my hat down, then up, then down), so that was a heck of a lot of fun.

We made it at opening every day and I have no regrets - we managed to get on all the big rides straight away and then poked our way through the rest of the day, at a slower pace.

Whew.

Hi all,

We got back last night. I don't have time to read all 20 pages, but will catch up soon. We had a great trip despite the heat and rain. I had a blast meeting Amy, Kellie and Bob. We loved POFQ and will probably return there someday. I didn't think the crowds were bad, we hardly waited for anything.
