I've noticed now that I don't have uber mega planning for other things, I've been able to concentrate on our vacation I've been posting like crazy in my PTR

We are waking up in 5 1/2 hours to get ready to head to the airport!
Driver is coming at 4:15 AM, hope to have luggage loaded and leave by 4:30.
Plane leaves at 6:50, arrives at 10:20. Then it's DME to BLT, check-in, and off to Typhoon Lagoon!

We are on DxDDp. We have a 2TS ADR for CRT for lunch. We got this because we liked a particular dish. That I found out as of July 1st is no longer on the menu. We really aren't a fan of any of the other dishes there, but have no idea what the new dish is.

Here is the question:
Would you keep the ADR and try the new dish, as the other options on the very limited menu (5 items in total) are not to our liking?
OR
Would you change to another 2TS restaurant with dinner at 9:30 on arrival night (with an 8 yr old) and move around another diner and a lunch to arrange that?

Any thoughts?

First things first - is this for DD or is it for you?? If DD couldn't care less about dining with the princesses, then call Dining and see what 2cr restaurants are available for lunch. The issue is that there aren't many choices for 2 cr lunches. Maybe switch to LTT and try to get into Narcoosee's/Artist's Point that evening to keep you near the MK.

Now....If CRT was booked for DD and she'd be devastated if you missed it, well, then it's time to suck it up and try something new. Having never eaten at CRT and only having second hand info (that is, until our ADR NEXT MONDAY!!!), I hear the food is secondary to the experience anyway. I'm sure there's something you'd mildly enjoy, and may even become your new favorite dish!

It's your call, I just know that if I canceled ours, DD4 (and DW for that matter) would have my head.

I would keep the Castle reservation. I don't like much food at Disney, except LTT, but I do love the Castle expeience.

I agree to a point with IndyDisney - if your daughter really wants to see the princesses - then go. However, I totally get what you mean about a 2 TS meal. My kids would probably be too excited to eat a big TS on arrival night. I looked at the ADR list, the other thing you could do might be add a breakfast on the 23rd or 25th and just switch to a different lunch that day...... if you want to stay near MK for lunch, there is LTT, or go over to the Wave, Kona Cafe, or Grand Floridian Cafe. There is always breakfast at Kouzzina near the Boardwalk or Akershus in Epcot...... just some thoughts!

Now I am confused.

I was a day off all week. I think it was the holiday. Either way, today is Friday, July 8, 2011 I don't know if that actually matters or not, because there is no date as important to me at the moment as Tuesday, 7/19/11. The rest of the days can just go 'way~

Oh and I hope no texting or email or call means your DH is on his way home

Carrie~ I kept wondering where Winter and a few other people were, then I looked at the ADR list....that explained it lol.

DD got her nails done. DD wanted Taco Bell. All packed and re-scheduled the company driver to pick us up at 3 AM instead of 4 AM. I found out 50% of the Alcon and Kenneth Copeland Conventioneer's are leaving first thing tomorrow morning.

Decided to get to the airport an hour earlier to get a head start in the security lines.

Dropped Kavick (Dog) at my Boss's house and now just resting.

Wendy~ I hope so too.....I tried to call his Afghanistan cell yesterday and had to listen to about 5 languages before a lady in English told me the phone was turned off. I HOPE this means he's on the move. No sand storms in Kuwait, only a minor haze and the wind gusts were low.

Not to much going on today...helping out with cleaning my mom's house, taking her to the grocery store on the military base and hoping that DH calls me with some good news (I'm in Germany...I'm in GA...something like that maybe) I am SO beyond ready to see him and so beyond ready to show him all the great things Disney has that he missed when he was in his teens.

We have talked it to death all morning and come to the realization that trying to change anything now is almost impossible. We could cancel lunch and dinner that day (3ts total) and get Hoop Dee Doo and still be short 1 TS. Or we could get CG or Narcoossee's on different days/times and shuffle a bunch of things around to make everything fit.

But, in the end I'm afraid if we do much changing at this point, we'll lose something or an ADR will get messed up and they won't have it when we get there or some other silly thing. I'm just going to leave things as they are.

PS: We are also doing the Akershus breakfast, so the princess fix was in anyway And it isn't just me who didn't like any of the other 4 menu choices. DH didn't either. We've done each meal at the Castle at least once.

My DD is very visual and schedule oriented, so as long as she has the new schedule, she'd be okay with it. I give her a schedule of what we are doing onwhat days about 2 weeks before we go. I then make her up reminder cards and give her one each day we are there telling what park we'll be at and what meals we'll be eating

A while back I cancelled almost all of our ADR's, family decided they didn't want to be held to a schedule of more than what parks on what days. Well this morning they are all frantically on their laptops trying to schedule soe ADR's for 17 people. I can't believe that they have changed their minds. I am spending a whole vacation grand gathering with these people and they are CRAZY. Guess I'll take the DGkids and act like I don't know the rest of them. Probably every QS meal we eat they are going to complaining. Is everyones family NUTS or is it just mine. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

On the upside I leave in jus 10 days but don't arrive at WDW for 12 days.

That sounds very promising - I hope you hear something soon! Sounds like you will be keeping busy enough to be preoccupied. I can only imagine how excited you are.......

I understand the schedule thing....did you ever hear anything back from Disney? Are there alternatives for DD on the CRT menu? I know that the Disney chefs can be accomodating, so maybe if you talked to your server they could come up with something that you all would like for lunch.......just a thought....

Almost at single digits!! I can understand your frustration. You might have to split into smaller parties, but that might work for some ADRs. You can also try the "less popular" places like at the resorts. You can get a bus to any resort from any park. Last summer we did a walk up at Kona Cafe at the Poly for lunch - the restaurant was barren (I think it was around 1-2pm) and I know they could have accomodated a large group. Just some suggestions

I will get with you guy's later, need to meet Alamo shuttle to pick up rental car from Hess Car Center. Going to make a Wal Mart run and then return the car at 5:00 PM.

Got off the plane at 10:15, went to Magical Express- got right on - arrived at the resort at 11:00 AM. - pretty quick and CM'S were super, wished me a happy birthday.
