July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

We're official for July (24th-30th). Staying at Pop. We'll be celebrating my daughter's high school graduation, my wife's birthday on the 25th (she'll be a beautiful 29 again) and our anniversary on the 27th (20th).

We're trying out the dining plan for the first time, with scheduled stops at Ohana (a family favorite), Biergarten (my personal favorite) and trying both Mexican restaurants, Coral Reef, Yak & Yeti and Teppan Edo for the first time.

Ahhh... A Fellow North Carolinian!!! :D

We'll be there the 1st week of July so well just miss you!!! It's our very first trip to Disney.....I'm SOOOOO excited!

So you like Biergarten? I wanted to go there but heard that the food was bad....really I'm just curious about the German beer. LOL! I still think I might give it a try anyway, just to judge for myself.

I prefer to form my own opinions. You see so many of the restaurants trashed here, many of which we enjoy. You just have to realize people have varying tastes.

I've always loved Biergarten. I've gone there since EPCOT opened and for the longest time, that was the only table service I had tried. In 2004 we took our first big family, multi-day trip. That was the first time we had the buffet (previously you ordered your meals separate) and everyone enjoyed it. At the time my kids were 10 and 11. Having lived in Korea and travelled quite a bit, they've tried a lot of stuff, but given the options on the buffet, I'd find it hard to believe you couldn't find something you would like.

We've missed the Biergaten the past few years. Our last 3 trips have been with the high school band and we just didn't have the time. This trip we're going back for sure. I have eaten sausage and drank beer at the counter service they have in Germany and I'll be surprised if things have gone down hill, but we'll see.

My tip on the beer is order the stuff you don't recognize. They usually have a wheat beer we enjoy. Back in 2004 they had Franziskaner Weisbier. We enjoyed several of those over the course of our vacation: :)

Hope you get a chance to try out the restaurant and would love to hear if you enjoy it.

That is great that you all got hair cuts. Did you post pictures yet on your PTR? And :woohoo: for the bikini. You will be the hot mommie at the pool

Here's some outfits I posted on the disboutique board:

:rolleyes1 I am going to go out on a limb and say I DID NOT like the Dole Whips. But I blame the DISboards for that. I had never heard of it until DIS and everyone said how yummy it was. I think my expectations were too high. I thought it would be like pineapple whipcream.

I also don't like Zebra Domes... but that is for another time:scared1:
Currently charging my camera battery and then I will post up some hair cut pictures (I will have to find my make up though lol). While I havent had EVERY snack in the World there is to have, I can honestly say I loved the Dole Whip Float. I adore pineapple though so go figure lol:rotfl: No one is going to gang up on you though because you dont like it...we all have our own tastes. Which is why I secretly am re-thinking Chef Mickey's for Cape May for breakfast. I :lovestruc:lovestruc those outfits you made! All I can do correctly is iron on's and hot iron stuff with fabric lol. Ok so I can quilt too but those take me forever and a day. Maybe I will save up to get myself an embroidery machine in the next few years.

Can I just say I don't like the Disboutique people? Do you know why? Because you are all so talented, and it makes me want to cry because I'm not and I love what you all make and I will never have those things because I can't make them. So that is why I don't like you!! :lmao: Okay, I hope you get the sarcasm. I truly am in awe of all that is made. I LOVE your Chip 'n Dale outfits!!!
There are people on the DisBoutique board who will do things for you for a small fee and some have their own ebay or etsy sites, just have to ask :thumbsup2

I need closed toe shoes too - they are cute, I looked them up. I just need to find a pair to try on - sizing is always an issue for me!
One of my feet is slightly longer then the other one so I always end up getting a size 10 (I know I have HUGE feet!) even though one foot is a size 9.5

You can always buy the beer at the kiosk next to the resturant. I recommend a dark beer.. I lived in Germany for 3 years and :lovestruc German Bier!

I finaly remembered to get my ink and transfers out of my car so I will be printing those out today and ironing them onto our Tshirts to wear when we get DH from the airport and while we are in the parks. I've been dragging on my crafts but I think that's because my mom is comming to visit the weekend of the 13th for DD's birthday and she's the crafty one...I'm second fiddle to her :rotfl::rotfl: Hope everyone is having a good day!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to off-site Disney shopping around WDW? I've seen stuff about outlet malls around there that may have Disney stuff. We plan to let the kids splurge a bit when it comes to souvenirs, but if we can save some $$ at it, that would be great!

Can't wait to see the pics. No your feet are not huge.:lmao: I take a size 9 almost 10 now, depending on the shoe.

As for my embroidery machine, I love it. It is actually easier than sewing.

I remember reading one of the DISboards blogs about an outlet malls that had a Crocs outlet and also a Disney outlet but I can't remember the name. I wanted to say it was on the way to Universal but I could be wrong.

The little suitcase ticker didn't work on my computer. :( I was sad. I do have an application on my IPhone that works well though... 60 days!!! :cool1:

DD just asked me when we are going to Florida :laughing: I'm going to be thinking about walking through WS all day today!

and melting in the heat! But then again... now that I think about it... I'm sitting here at work, in air conditioning, and I'd much rather be walking around WS, melting in the heat, than sitting here all nice and cool! I need to remember that when I'm there! Same goes for misbehaving children... at least I'm in Disney!

I did most of Disney in a wheelchair last time. In a way it was sort of nice (don't tell DH).... In the July heat, I got a bit of a breeze as he pushed me, and I didn't have to walk and get all tired! haha.... hey, there's always an upside, right?? Okay, well, maybe you would rather be able to walk around, and I hope that all this pain goes away very quickly for you! :flower3:

Excellent! :thumbsup2

Poor you!! You should search the internet for exercises geared for wheelchair bound people - I would think there might be something out there. (I am a nurse, which is why I am thinking of it) Although it is nothing close to what you are going through my DH just had knee surgery but developed a hematoma in his calf after surgery. It has been almost a month now and he is just starting PT. He is way behind and I wonder if we will be getting a wheelchair for him. It is one reason we have decided to fly instead of drive this trip.

There are also the ECV's. My TA advised me against them if people annoy me, as she said the temptation to run people over is great. :rolleyes1

I went back to the doctor's yesterday and saw a different one. This time, it was one with a sports medicine interest. He said my recovery is going fine and restated the 3-6 month time frame for pain. However, he's sending me for a musculoskeletal (all spelling errors are mine) ultrasound, which will show the damage level in the calf. He added, and I appreciated this, "You know papercuts, right? Tiny little things, but man do they hurt. It's possible that nothing will turn up on the ultrasound, but like a papercut, it still hurts." It's a nice way to immediately tell me that he's not dismissing my pain.

He also said it was time for some light walking. He then lectured me about wearing appropriate footwear - sneakers or cross-trainers. No flip-flops, sandals, or unsupportive shoes, because they would stretch my calf too much. This kind of stinks, because I have crocs that work so well for me in Disney. They're always my "other" pair of shoes and I don't know what I'm going to do now.

Curse you, uncooperative body! Currrrrrrrse you.

Ahem. I'll be fine. ;)

YEAH! Last year, here in SE Michigan, we had a heat index OVER 100 degrees, during the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair. I was thinking "I could be in Disney for this kind of weather and these crowds. I'd RATHER be in Disney. Grumble."

I guess I'll get to do as I say this year!! I think my dad and I are already planning our ice cream stops!

I'm spending time on Skype with my niece (who is ALMOST 7 months old), so she's getting to "know" me. I won't be a total stranger in July, which is good. Especially since she's my own personal mini-me! I'm so taking her to meet characters and for photo ops. Can you blame me? ;) I think I have 67 days!!

It's sad, but when I was on the treadmill today running I kept imagining myself running for a FP in DHS for TSM :rotfl: Right now I'm sitting here eatting my high fiber/high protien lunch and REALLY wanting a dole whip or a sunde from the Plaza :rotfl: I dont mind the melting in the heat to muh to be honest, I look at it this way it's extra water weight I dont need or want :thumbsup2

I was craving chocolate today so I book the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party for our last night at WDW! It's possible that I have no impulse control!:upsidedow
