July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

DOH! I appolgize Tink! Thank you so much for fixing that up for me, I greatly appriciate it...Again I applogize for being a PITR and having you confused with Carrie

No problem whatsoever!!! :rotfl: I thought it was cute. With so many people one the boards it is easy to get confused, especially since we have not even met in person yet!

Anyway you are all fixed up!!!

Woo! We finally have a place to stay :woohoo: The aunt gave in, realized she waited to too long to make reservations, and upped the budget. Now we have a house she's happy with (she was adamant about a hot tub...in July?! ) and a place for all of us to sleep!

Yay! I'm glad you all finally have a place!

Is everyone going in July a teacher except me??

:yay::yay: I am not a teacher either! I am a chef. Took time off to help with my sisters family while my brother in law was sick, and once we get back from Disney I will be making plans to open my own place next year. In the meantime I will do some catering etc.:cheer2:

Might have to let 6 year old granddaughter pick a different princess, a sleeveless one, as her cast won't be off in time.

I would take a pair of scissors and carefully cut the sleeve on the seam all the way to the armpit and then use ribbon that I either glued or pinned on to tie the sleeve closed over the cast.

Today 9 out of the 15 of us that are going on our trip (in 28 days I might add :cool1:) went "Group Disney Shopping" today. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We realized that we pretty much all needed new sneakers and time to break them in. So we headed out to Khol's since they were having a sale and we also had a 15% coupon.

I ended up only getting sneakers for my DD4 :tinker: at Khol's then my mom and I went over to Payless. There we both ended up getting sneakers with the buy one get on 50% off :banana::banana:

I don't think my sister and her 3 girls got any, she really didn't see anything they liked, plus the prices at Khol's seemed a little steep. The sneaks that I liked at Khol's were like $55!!! :scared1:

My best friend and her daughter did get their sneakers at Khol's although I am not sure what they look like.

My mom and I also went to Children's Place and I picked up some tank tops for my DD.

I think the only things left to pick up for the trip are our toiletries and I need a few more tank tops.

Although I am sure there will be things that we don't necessarily need but I just have to pick up!!! :lmao::lmao:

Have you checked Sears? I took ODD there a few night's ago and got her some nice Sketchers for 20 bucks on clearance! Ok so I walked out not paying a dime because of my Kmart/Sears point's card but still!

I put our 2 largest bag's into the van today:rotfl: I couldnt help myself! I also decided I do NOT want to carry more then a back pack and my Mickey bag into the parks so I took our camera out of the padded bag it came in and put it into the padded back pack.

I also realized that the 10th of July is a Sunday which means if DH get's in on the 10th, my Mom can come with us to take pictures!

I'm also trying to think of names for my TR and I think I might have hit on one...how about "No Children Were Harmed in the Making of this Trip Report."?

On a lighter note.... Carrie, not too many people are crazy enough to go to Disney in July except teachers who have that as their vacation time! :lmao: Sorry, just had to tease you.

You can tease me all you want. I can take it:cool1: I am not a teacher, but I liked going in July. It's hot and humid here in July too, so it's better at Disney :lovestruc

Nope, RN here.:goodvibes

Nurses are good :worship: My grandfather died last year after a long illness and the nurses in the hospital he was in were awesome with the whole family!

I went to quote one person and it kept my quotes from a previous reply...very weird.

That's been happening to me for a few days now.

So Carrie, I hate to be a pain in the rear but could you change our Yack and Yeti from the 19th to the 15th and the time is now 12:30pm.

Not me, sorry (although I see you already know that:rotfl2:)

No, I am a nurse!

It is not Carrie updating the ADRs it is me (Wendy, aka Tinkerbell60) so I will take care of that for you. :goodvibes

See all my nurses comments above:love:
You are doing a great job on the ADRs!

Good luck opening a place :) I love cooking and have a cousin that is a chef. He loves it.

Group shopping sounds fun. I like when we take our trips with other people, but I like just going ourselves sometimes, too. We get to do what we want :)

I love Children's Place.

It seemed that we had a majority of teachers here, but I guess not LOL
I never said it but I am a housewife for a while now and my dh is in law enforcement, just for the record no teachers here :rotfl::rotfl2:

I'm not a teacher either. I work in agriculture. I couldn't be a teacher, I don't have the patience! I have all the respect in the world for them though, and I cringe every time I hear of one being laid off.

No, I don't have the patience either. And I don't have the stomach to be a nurse. So I have all the admiration in the world for you guys, seriously .:worship:

LOL, I'm not a teacher either but I do work for the schools in the food service department. I get to make the food for all the hungry students!popcorn:: Most of my family are teachers. :thumbsup2

ok so I'm making 7 bags for the meet. And making the flag soon.

I'll post a pic as soon as I can.

In order to start getting in the spirit for our trip (in 6 days!!!!), we watched something we DVR'd a couple of weeks ago on CNBC called "Walt: the Man Behind the Myth" on Thursday. It was so good and both DH and I ended up crying at the end when the talked about Walt dying. We now have to get through a DVD about the parks and then another about the rebirth of Disney with "The Little Mermaid". I think it's called "Waking Sleeping Beauty". Plus last weekend, we watched "Lilo and Stitch" for the first time. This week, I'll be watching a few others I haven't seen yet: "Mulan", "The Incredibles" and a few others.

We finalized our touring plan today and made our packing list. Tomorrow we hit two weeks to go!

Sorry to hear about your grandfather.. glad to hear the nurses made a great impression!:goodvibes

I so agree!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for saying that --- I am not a teacher - but am a speech pathologist who now oversees the special education timelines and processes for Early Childhood Special Education (3, 4, and 5 yr olds) It's not patience that we have... it's appropriate expectations --- we know what to expect out of a typical (or delayed) ______ grader... this helps a lot - so that we anticipate those challenges ahead of time.

Although it was 4 years ago (time goes by fast) that I spent 3 months in the hospital, I have all the appreciation for nurses and aides in the world!!! For about 5 weeks straight I laid in bed and was not able to get out, so nurses had to do EVERYTHING! And they did it in a way that made me feel special and very well taken care of. So, NURSES ROCK! Of course, there are tons of jobs (including stay at home mommies) that rock. I just have a special place for nurses. :)

Thanks. I really can't figure out the logic of a federal push to up educational expectations while some of the largest teacher lay offs are taking place across the nation. Did I miss something? :rotfl2:

I'm with ya on this. Although, one time I had asked a nurse to clean my spit pan. (I'll try not to be too gross). She didn't do a very good job, and I asked her if she could rinse it out. I was always very nice. She asked me if I could do it because vomit made her sick. I was like... well, I can't walk.... then I laughed and told her she was in the wrong profession. She said she could handle blood just not throw up? It still makes me laugh. :confused3 okay, sorry if that grossed you out... but dang it's funny! I hadn't been out of bed in over 5 weeks at that point.... how was I going to do anything? lol

On a much happier note....

2 weeks from tomorrow I'll be walking down Main St. USA!!!!!! Mickey, my love, I'm coming!!! :cloud9:

I thought about that but my DGD's are kind of OCD about their clothes thoguht that might bother her more than not being able to wear it. Guess I'll wait until she feels beter and ask her if she wants Rapunzel cut or a sleeveless dress of a different princess or tinkerbell. She is still in alot of pain today so probably not the time to bring it up.

Mickey Mail came today!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:
