July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

I haven't really been posting much because I don't have that much to say right now!!! I know shockers of all shockers for me. I'm usually talking Disney 24/7. I have been reading though....maybe when I hit 45 days and get a Disney package in the mail I will get hyped up again.

I think the $$$$$ aspect of it is getting to me (so then I go and book the VIP????? :lmao:)....I still haven't got a clue where we are staying Saturday night when we arrive at WDW since we are getting there a day early due to the college visit added plans - so that's stressing me out (can you say I'm a planner? This uncertainty is annoying!).

I'm kind of in a panic mode of EEK....how many more paychecks and why does everyone want to suck my money NOW? Probably because I WAS paid in full until we added all these extra things....and I'm owed money by family members for the things I've already paid (i.e. dessert party)....Actually once they pay me that pretty much pays for the VIP tour. :lmao:

Then there is the vacation clothes you have to buy (or is that just me that does that?)...my DD keeps asking when we are going vacation clothes shopping but we have to get through the end of the school year which is "oh we have this field trip & that field trip so send in this, that & the other thing!" Doesn't it sound like I NEED the vacation?

OH..and I found out the A/C doesn't work in my car & we are DRIVING!!! I do believe that might just need to be fixed before we head to FL in July unless I want to roast....it doesn't have to work long...just the driving days, the other days it will just sit parked nicely on property.

Also, we just got a couple new kittens and they are worse than the kids for fighting....hopefully they will settle down soon and realize neither one of them are going anywhere so they may as well just get along. :rotfl:

Have you looked on priceline or orbitz or hotels.com about a room close to Disney? I would start there you might get a good deal.

Well, minus the cake for our Anniversary and the in room delivery I have planned and POSSIBLY the Pirates League for my older 2 DD's, we are PIF and yes I am deffinately STRESSING about how many more GC's or how much money I need to set aside for that. In addition to I still havent decided which is the best way to get to the Airport from my Mom's house.
I was going to have DDad drive us to the Metro station when he went in to work in the morning, but he doesnt have to be in until AFTER our flight leaves. Other option is to drive to the Metro station, leave the extra set of keys with my Mom and have her pick them up in the morning or have DDad take the bus to the metro that morning and then drive our van back to their house. Another option...take a cab to the Airport. I duno if we need a carseat for the taxi and if we do, I dont wanna lug it around MCO with us when we dont need it:confused3 I really wish I could just have my mom drive us to the Airport and pick us up, but alas she has to work too.

I still have to buy myself some new shorts (Nope, your not alone in vacation clothes shopping!) and some new under garnments. I'm afraid to do that though because I'm trying to lose weight for this trip....I'm currently 9lbs away from being in the 100's there and am SOOO hoping I can atleast fit into a size 16 for this trip (cuz I know a 14 prolly won't happen :headache:).

We have 4 more paychecks to go until Disney and I still have to buy ODD a 100 dollar GC for all the chores she's been doing, and I have to set aside money for gas to drive down to VA oohh and clean out my car massively (still trying to figure out if 80 dollars is to much to pay to have someone do it for me).
I am with you on the stressed out front!

Hope your car AC get's fixed soon!

:thumbsup2 My DD's choir concert is Thursday...DS-14 is in a couple weeks. They are all at the end of their school so moving up next year which means lots of EXTRA end of the year things that I have to remember about!!!

DS-10 has the 5th grade play and so has been staying after. The performances are Friday & Monday -- so glad when that's over.

Then my DD was in an ice show, her and my youngest take dance so they have their dance recital in a couple weeks, then there is 8th grade graduation ceremony along with they go to Great America so I have to make sure someone is around to pick DS up!!! They don't get back until late! I have about a gazillion things on my calendar right now...oh and my 10 year old's birthday is coming up so we are planning on doing a combined birthday party at MagiQuest (which is a really cool place!) but I need to hear from their friends how many are coming -- SOON.

Basically I can't really *think* Disney until after May.....LOL!!! Come June 7 though...I will then go into the OTHER panic mode of "OH CRUD...I have 50,000 things to do and not enough time to do them"....I actually have a fundraiser that I direct though that I also have to get through and that is July 9.

What really needs to get done will get done in the end and if it doesn't it won't be the end of the world I'm sure....things will work out -- besides it's not a vacation unless something doesn't quite go as planned (or you won't have any good stories anyway! :rotfl: Can you tell I grew up on driving vacations WAY before GPS was around....we always got lost at least once and/or had some sort of car trouble!)

DS is in 8th grade too - they have a band trip to the local amusement park - Kennywood, plus the 8th grade dinner dance and appreciation day. Plus, he is in confirmation class at church too. Yes, I understand the full calendar. :dance3: They get out of school June 8th - thank goodness.

You are absolutely right about what will need to get done will get done. I agree - mishaps on vacation make great memories. I grew up long before GPS too. I am a mapaholic - last year when the traffic got backed up, I found us lots of alternative routes - some were quite entertaining! :rotfl:

So, apparently at about 60 - 70 days out is when everyone goes into the "ACK" too much to do but too far away to deal panic mode. :lmao:

I'm guessing 45-30 days is the "OH CRUD" panic and then probably about 2 weeks out is "well...I've done everything I can do so now we just wait & go over our plans 50,000 times just to be sure"

I definitely need to clean my car out too....also just to prove a point, my mom is convinced we won't all FIT in the car to go to Disney (although we drove it in 2005 and we had a STROLLER last time plus diapers, etc.... that basically took up the only "trunk" space we had...we don't have a stroller this time so I'm thinking we have TONS of space). We have ways of making everything fit! Now you can't just get up and get out of the van, there IS a system to it and everyone has to work together to get it to work but it will get done.

I'm in the in between mode too. At the point at which I needed to make ADRs, it was all kinds of excitement because I needed to figure out which park what day, which restaurant what time... and which resort for that matter (had to talk DH into POFQ instead of POP). I'm glad he loves me! lol

I did do some shirt shopping. The type of shirts I like tend to go fast in my "overly pooh" size. So, I got them. Plus, I have to get them altered because not all "pooh" sized females have the ummmm... top half? (to say it nicely) that fits in those shirts. I have several shirts at the tailors now. During last year's vacation I realized I had a billion shorts, so no short shopping this year! lol. :) I just need to break in my birks and I should be all ready in the clothing department.

I have been picking up little items here and there... dollar store stuff, and just little things you would buy for vacation.

I need to get me bum in gear and order some packing cubes. I haven't used them before, but from the reviews on here, they sound perfect for the DH and I! Plus, DH's bday is at the end of the month, so a perfect gift it is! Also, I have decided to do Cirque De Soleil, so I need to order those tickets. That is a surprise though... shhhhh. Our 10th anniversary will be after our trip, but I thought I would put the tickets in a card and give them to him while at Disney as an added surprise!

All in all... small continual planning, but nothing major!

I got the dog all set up for "puppy camp"... aka the Kennel, and I booked our hotel in Philly where we need to stay for the night before the fly out and the night we get back. Phew.

Personally, I just want the school year to finish very soon. It's been a killer year where I work! lol

:dance3:53 Days!!!!!! :dance3:

ACK my CATS! I hope my mom let's me bring them to her house with me to stay. She's already Ok'd one cat but not sure about the other one...who also get's fixed in June....so I have to take out 100 dollars this Friday and then 175 on June 1st to pay for that. I think I'm offically at the FREAKING out stage! I thought I was so calm!

Oh, Sorry to cause extra worries. I always watch my parents' cat when they go away, but he just stays at their house and I go visit him. Unfortunately, no one can watch my dog. :( We have found a great kennel though, and he loves going there.

My philosophy is freak out all you want now... relax when you get to Disney! :cloud9:

Cirque is a wonderful show - that is a great anniversary idea!

I also have "camp" booked for the dog.

I need to start looking around for those odds and ends, dollar store items. Since we are flying now instead of driving packing will be totally different. I need to investigate these packing cubes you are talking about. I am thinking of buying some extra plastic hangers to take since with 4 of us in the room, drawer space goes quickly.

I've been ready the day I booked the trip, my wife gets a little mad when I keep asking if it's time to start packing now......:confused3

:goodvibes I can't believe some are already in the 50s for their countdown:scared1:

The closer it gets the more I start to panic.

AND I have to add that I like coming to this thread were everyone is so nice to each other.:goodvibes I just was on a thread about strollers and another one about eating breakfast at the poly and boy do it turn nasty quick:sad2:

Ok where is the "What she said" emoticon when you need it????

There was a thread about "Your worst day in the world" going on(how on EARTH can you have a "Worst Day" at WDW???? Well other then the day you leave to go home!) and it was running smoothe until about page 36 then it started to get nasty. I like that I can come back here and we keep our cool (except when we start to stress out) and are friendly. I like the Dis for the most part but there are some people who are always negative nancy's/norman's.

Can someone post a pic or a link so I can see what a packing cube is?:confused3

Here is the link for the packing cubes.

I can't give you any feedback on them at all, because I only just ordered them tonight. I got the set of 3 different sizes. They are on sale right now. There is a lot of feedback about them on this forum, so you could do a search.

My DH always likes to put his clothes in the drawers, I figured this would be an easy way to just pull the cubes out and be done packing!

I also booked the Cirque tickets. Looks like pretty good seating, area 102. I keep telling myself.. aren't you spending enough? Then I say... anything for my DH! He has done more for me than I can even say!!

I love to pack early, but not quite yet. Although i have started to gather some things that I know I will be needing and putting them in a central location.

The stroller threads around here are something else; aren't they? And they all seem to turn nasty at some time.

I think it's 68 days left for us. I'm a little sad that we won't be getting mickey mail.

A lot of the threads turn nasty around here. I like to go to have fun for me. Granted, sometimes other people there get on my nerves, but it's nothing that I'm going to take with me and carry a grudge about for the rest of my life. :)

It is truly amazing how nasty some threads can get!

I do the same things, start putting things in one spot...

Being nosy - why no Mickey Mail for you??

Almost in my 40's!!! WOOO HOOO!

We're at 44 since we're going at the end of June. :cloud9::goodvibes

You both are lucky! I can't wait to hit the 50s. I do not want to wish summer away though.. Last year we went at the end of June and I loved it because when we got back there were still several weeks before my daughter started band camp. This year both kids start band camp a week after we get back, which is almost like the beginning of the beginning of school again.

We hit 45 days on the 19th!!!! So excited.

I can't believe I've not posted here before. Our dates are July 2nd-July 12th. The 2nd-4th we are staying at Pop Century. The 5th-12th we will be at AKV- Kidani.
