Okay, this is bugging me.

In July 2009, I was at WDW. There was a restaurant at Epcot - I *thought* it was Les Chefs de France, but maybe not - encased in all glass and gold, somewhere not too far from the International Gateway. In this restaurant - and I was sure it was a French restaurant - a GINORMOUS (life sized) Remi weaved his way between the tables.

I *KNOW* I saw this!!! We didn't eat there, but I know I saw it more than once!!! Am I the only one who saw this???

All this time talking about Les Chefs and Remi, I assumed it was this ginormous Remi that would be making the rounds. Apparently not.

If I didn't see Remi, I absolutely saw SOMETHING! What might I have seen and confused it with Remi? Can y'all help me out???

There is a "life-size" Remy that makes his way around Chefs de France with his person handler. Is that what you saw? He is a tiny mouse though and is wheeled around the restaurant on a tray with a cover..:confused3 Otherwise I have no idea.

I don't really know. Sometimes Cinderella's mice can be found in France, but I've never really known of them to be in the restaurant. Also, they'd be wearing dresses...

Remy does exist as a human-size costumed character (so does his brother, Emile). The Remy that is generally seen in Chefs de France is a rat-sized animatronic. However, it is possible that if the animatronic Remy was "on vacation" or merely just unable to appear that day, that the human-sized costumed rat may have been substituted. If so, this is not something that is done on a regular basis. Chefs de France is not a "character meal" in the sense that this term is used by Disney to mean a meal where costumed characters visit tables.

Even if they wanted to do this, there isn't a lot of space between tables in there.

Marie from the Aristocats is always by the French restaurant. Maybe you saw her? She gets pretty close to the restaurant sometimes.

That must've been it!!! I happened at least 2 days while I was there. And I'm just sure it was Remy. I'm positive it wasn't at MK - I'm sure it was at Epcot. I remember reading about Remy before we went, but we didn't have ADRs at Les Chefs. When I saw this Remy weaving between the tables, I just assumed that's what everyone was talking about. It was absolutely a rat and not a cat, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't one of Cinderella's mice...though, I suppose it *could* have been! I remember thinking that - unlike the other characters at other meals - this one didn't stop for pictures. He just kinda weaved his way between the tables and kinda waved here and there, but didn't appear to be stopping for pictures.

Surely someone else saw it???

To me, that's not "gold and glass" but it may be what you remember.

And here's the Remy that usually appears there:
