Hi. Love your trip reports. You're a good writer. And very literate for someone under 25. I adored the Dumas references, but one thing is driving my OCDish self mad.
D'Artagnan. That is the correct spelling. He is the main character in the Alexandre Dumas book "The Three Musketeers." Ironically, he ISN'T a Musketeer, he is friends with the trio. So I'm liking Dart more than your other brothers (FOUR brothers, OY).
Pulling rank, I'm an English PhD. I work as a visiting professor at the University of Michigan (a school that needs good writers. Apply!). I'd be a real professor (professors aren't modest either), but I have a type of muscular dystrophy called mitochondrial myopathy, and cannot get a commitment from U of M to give me 340 sick days per year.
At any rate. Otherwise, your style, grammar, spelling-- all better than most grad students. Seriously, I hope you've made plans to attend a good college. I suspect you do, in fact, have the grades, and you certainly have the brains.
Just the one name. Thanks for indulging my madness.
I'll be writing my pre-trip now while I giggle madly about going back to
DISNEYWORLD!!!
Which is, in fact, way better than
Disneyland.
