July 2007 TR

Man, I can't wait to show Disney World to my daughter!

I love this T.R.! Just wanted to know when in July you were there because I was there July 18th-29th.

Wow! I can't believe I am finally caught up and can now wait with the others for your trip wrap-up! :rolleyes1

Loved reading your other TR and then immediately had to come and read this one!popcorn::

I have enjoyed reading all about your adventures and that rain story cracked me up!:rotfl:

I will keep an eye out for future reports by you in the Spring!:cheer2:

AGP: My DD has a series of books called "The Imagineering Field Guide to..." for each park (except MGM / Disney Studios). They are cool pocket-sized books that talk about the little touches that really make the magic. The MK version has a great observation on CHH on page 80:

"The transitions from land to land in our parks are always carefully considered, but the one from Fantasyland to Liberty Square...is one of the most successful. This transition takes its cues from the standard cross-dissolve...you must pass beneath an overpass, actually a seating area in the CHH. There are elements from each (land) that appear on each side of the pass-through. You'll see stone work reminiscient of the castle wall in LS, and Tudor-style woodwork on both sides of the restaurant...there is even a seperate BGM (background music) track playing in this space to complete the dissolve. It's one of the finest and subtlest moments of your walk in the Park."

You know, I have only been on TSI once, I wasnt that thrilled with it, maybe one day I will give it a second chance.

You did much better than I did on Buzz, I managed a measley 1000 points! Guess I wont get the job of saving the universe. haha

How did we miss TSI? Been to WDW a few times! Where and how do you get to it ? :confused3 Never heard of it b4.

TSI is like an oasis in the Kingdom. It is located in the Northwest section of the Magic Kingdom, situated in the triangle drawn between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (BTMRR), the Haunted Mansion, and Pecos Bill Cafe. It is actually two islands, with a northerly path leading to an unnamed island where Fort Langhorne is located. This "no name" island is one of the quietest spots in the MK. If your DKs are young, it is a win-win since they can safely explore the fort (along with all the sniper spots, with rifles that have action sounds) and you can set a nice quiet spell in the rocking chairs of the Fort.

The only way to get to it is by longraft. The raft landing is located right across the path from BTMRR and Splash mountain. It is easy to miss the landing, because it is actually about a half floor below the path.

The easiest way to get there is to take the WDW Railroad to Frontierland. Then walk directly between BTMRR and Splash and the landing will be directly in front of you.

Just popping in to check for any signs of the Snob...:snooty:

Seriously...I need to hear more! (Even if it is the ending!):surfweb:

Emma, I just noticed you were there at the end of July. I have not been to WDW in July...in years. How were the crowds? I know it's crowded, with summer crowds, but did you find it horrible?

Hi. Love your trip reports. You're a good writer. And very literate for someone under 25. I adored the Dumas references, but one thing is driving my OCDish self mad.
D'Artagnan. That is the correct spelling. He is the main character in the Alexandre Dumas book "The Three Musketeers." Ironically, he ISN'T a Musketeer, he is friends with the trio. So I'm liking Dart more than your other brothers (FOUR brothers, OY).
Pulling rank, I'm an English PhD. I work as a visiting professor at the University of Michigan (a school that needs good writers. Apply!). I'd be a real professor (professors aren't modest either), but I have a type of muscular dystrophy called mitochondrial myopathy, and cannot get a commitment from U of M to give me 340 sick days per year.
At any rate. Otherwise, your style, grammar, spelling-- all better than most grad students. Seriously, I hope you've made plans to attend a good college. I suspect you do, in fact, have the grades, and you certainly have the brains.
Just the one name. Thanks for indulging my madness.
I'll be writing my pre-trip now while I giggle madly about going back to
DISNEYWORLD!!!
Which is, in fact, way better than Disneyland.

Sad to see the report end.

Great report and great ending to what seemed like a wonderful trip

The last post was very cute:cutie:
