I'll be checking in at the Polynesian on July 28th and staying until August 4th. I'm going to be there for Tikifest and I'm also looking forward to seeing a bunch of other DIS'ers and Polynesian fans as well. I have a feeling that this will be my best WDW trip yet!

There was a member here who is a huge Polynesian buff/fan who used to post on the resort boards on a regular basis. He since has moved on from here, but his web page has literally helped hundreds of people interested in the Polynesian. His screen name here was Tikiman and he's a great guy. You don't meet anybody nicer on any Internet boards than Steve (Tikiman). I'm pretty sure these boards don't want too much advertising of his get together, so I'll just post a link to his site. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions, I'll be glad to help.

Hi everyone. Just signed up to DIS.

We're staying off-site July 19 to August 2. 'We' are myself, DH, DS (15- 16th birthday whilst there), DS 11, DS 7, DFIL (also has birthday whilst there) and DMIL.
We usually go in December, so all the tips I'm getting from DIS and TGM about crowd levels and heat are really helpful. DFIL and DMIL have mobility problems, so need to factor this into park touring aswell. (DH wonders why I'm spending so much time planning this trip!!?!)

That is so cool and I can't wait to meet everyone, especially Steve who I've talked to for years on these boards, but never met in person. As a Polynesian fan I can't thank him enough for his work and dedication to his great website. A lot of people on these boards owe him thanks for all the information they learned off of his site. I think it will be great meeting you and everyone else there in July. I have a GVC room booked and heard quite a few Tikifest people will be in the Hawaii concierge building.
