July 2007 Rate/Code Watch

Is there a minimum number of nights for the code/upsell to apply? (i.e. more than 1 or 2 nights?)

I think you'll find this particular leaked code is dead now.

It wasn't intended to be used as it was and Disney has shut it down after it leaked.

I wonder if they're gonna cancel the ressies that were made with it....:confused3

Hey - I think this could mean that codes are coming out soon, what do ya'll think???

No, I just think they got so many complaints about poor service  that they pulled a Donald Trump..... "You're Fired" :lmao: and there's no one left to answer calls!:lmao:

Canadian Guy is right about the code. I called last night about 9:00 p.m. to see if I had a code attached to my name, and they told me there is a code floating around on a website and they received a memo from managment and it is now invalid. She was very nice, and no I did not have a code. Oh well, I'm still excited about my trip in July. Maybe some discount will still come out.

Linda T. :)

Just booked a new ressie after the systems came back up and sadly it wasn't to put in the new AP rates, so still waiting.

Southwest air has an offer running to WDW now May 15? to June 24, they only listed the Wilderness lodge and Beach club were available in an email they sent. SW Air's site might be a good place to look too.

I 'd like to offer my sincere apologies to all of you and the DISboards for a post that I had placed here earlier reguarding the discount code that has been in question, that post has been deleted for violating the DISboards policies that I was not fully educated on. My intent was to help people save money by some advise that I offered in an opinion of how to try to get it, and had felt or thought it posed no problem, until I was warned and the post deleted for just cause, and until I read back in yesterdays posts that further discussion of this code should stop, I did not fully understand how this advise could jeapordize your reservations for WDW that we ALL may have had or have. In the warning, of which was nothing short of prefessional, understanding and polite, it was explained to me further the reasons why such posts should not be made. Many of you may not have read the post, so no harm done, maybe some have lucked out by getting the code. I'm sure some of you had seen my previous post, but, I assure all of you, I meant no harm. I merely wanted families to be able to get a discount that so many of you have been discussing and been waiting and hoping so long for. I do understand now, if a code comes out, it comes out to everyone and it is not fair to some that don't end up with one. So, in ending, I offer my sincere apologies to all of you, to the WDW company and the DIS boards.

KSoda, that was probably one of the nicest things that I've ever read on the Dis......:hippie:

Called today, nothing yet. For what it's worth, the cm I spoke with said they are expecting to hear something any day - but he expected it to be like last year, only for selected resorts.

I hope he's wrong.

Thank you all for your kind words and understanding.

On a lighter note, I realize now that we cannot post web links for a select group of people regarding discounts, but I hope this is OK to write; a military veteran inquired about another post I had written regarding active and retired military veteran's discounts on travel, I can't seem to locate the post. I had mentioned that active military and veterans groups have their own travel links for discounted travel. He asked..."what do I need to get the discount?" Well, all I can suggest is that if you or you're spouse are active or retired, honorably discharged, go to the American Legion, VFW, DoD (Department of Defense), other veterans organizations, and even the branch of service web sites and first look for the links that explain their benefits, rules and guidelines, if already members, you need your card ID number. Look for their travel links, sorry, but, again, we cannot post links. Provide discharge form DD214 or equal for membership. Keep in mind also, these organizations have many, many benefits to war veterans and their families other than just travel. The Shades of Green resort in WDW also caters to veterans and their families. I hear it's a beautiful resort across the street from the Polynesian. I hope this was ok to post and that it helps.

This being the month of May when we honor our heroes who gave their lives so freely for our freedoms, please honor them each and every day. SUPPORT AND PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS! Fly your flags and put out yellow ribbons, show those in harms way that we care and will not forget them. Support our troops by supporting their mission.

KSODA - if you have a link that goes some place that advise military folks about discounts they are eligible for - and that site explains what is needed to qualify, there would be nothing wrong with posting that because no one other than the military that qualify would have any chance of using those discounts.

That is way different than people posting discount codes that they got in emails, post cards, or as part of an upsell......
