Hi All,

I have been waiting for someone else to start a meet thread and I can't wait any longer!!

Are we the only ones on the ship LOL

We are a family of 5 here. Me, hubby, dd (15), ds (13), dd (7). Also joining us will be my parents, my newly married daughter and my SIL and my MIL and BIL LOL.

We will have 6 staterooms. This is our (my 5) 2nd cruise. We sailed the Magic in 2009 and LOVED it even though it rained almost every day. We had horrible weather and the sea sickness was terrible.

This cruise is to celebrate my son's Bar Mitzvah next year. He had the choice to have a large party like his sisters or pick a family vacation. So glad he is as Disney crazy as the rest of us :thumbsup2

I am way excited!! Last Disney cruise we decorated our doors to death. I can't wait to make magnets that reflect Disney and NY together!

Hope to see more people here in the coming months!

Have a magical day!! :wizard:

We're in. Just transferred our dummy booking to this cruise. Joining me is DH, DS (17) and DD (16). We have cabin 5510 and main dining.

Looking forward to our first trip to the Big Apple. It'll be our 6th DCL cruise.

wow 6th DCL!!!

we are also main dining. I hate to eat late. I also go to bed early LOL

I can't wait to cry at the sail away party leaving from my state. We are about 45m from NYC.

I think the itinerary sucks (can I say that) but it will be soooooo easy to just park and get on the ship! I really thought the port at PC was wonderful and clean and organized. I am not sure how it will be in NYC. Even the difference between Orlando airport and LGA or JFK are polar opposites :rotfl2:

:3dglasses

We get to experience the Wonder in our home Province very soon. It'll actually be here in Victoria on May 2 for it's first visit to British Columbia. We'll be down at the breakwater to welcome it. Then, in August we'll take the ferry over and board to go to Alaska (yay - no airfare for a change).

Have no clue about New York. Most likely flying from Seattle - which airport would be the best to fly into for getting to downtown New York and the Port?

The DCL fellow said it would most likely be leaving from the Manhattan Port, but it's still to be decided.

We're excited about ititenary as it lets us do New York (DS wish) and have some sun and fun as well. Looking forward to going back to Nassau as we want to go to Atlantis this time. Good way to go as we're not keen on doing 3 or 4 day cruises anymore - far too short after you've done a 15 day.

You will probably fly into JFK. I would avoid Newark.

I am hoping we sail by the Statue of Liberty. I don't know anything about sailing from NY but that would be soooooo cool!!

My BF and I are in. :cool1:

This will be our first DCL cruise. My son and I were all set to do the 2008 east bound PC cruise, but my dad died the week before so I had to cancel.

This will be our 2nd cruise. We're doing the southern caribbean with RCCL this August.

When I told BF about the cruises, he gave me the go ahead for the 8 night and 2 night cruises. I asked about Hawaii and he said no way, that one is too long and the price will be crazy. Guess who asked about the Hawaii sailing last night.

Now he wants me to try and get a cabin on that one. If I can, we will cancel the 2 night.

Hi everyone,
Just joined, this will be our first cruise, love disney, did disney world 3 times in 16 months for 11 days each time and wanted to give a cruise a try this time around. We are very excited even though we have 467 days to go LOL! It will be me 41, dh 42, and dd 13. My daughter is already anxious to see if there are any kids here age on here who will be on the ship.

Thanks. I'm hoping we have enough points to cover the flights.

Sailing past the Statue of Liberty would be so cool.

Welcome aboard. You are going to love the cruise. I didn't think Disney could top their parks, but they did with DCL.

Hi Everyone, we have a ressie on this cruise also, it's too far away to say we are actually going or not but as right now we are booked, we will be on the dream in August, airfare is soooo high, this cruise will be a blessing with no airfare.
It will be me, DH and DD 16

I've been out of the NYC port twice with one more coming in June. I think it is great! One time we took a limo and last year we just drove in, so simple, you will love it, just get there early that's what we did.

Thanks. I'm hoping we have enough points to cover the flights.

Sailing past the Statue of Liberty would be so cool.

When we passed the Statue of Liberty on the NCL Gem they played the National Anthem, very touching. On the Carnival ship they didn't but it was still awesome. Another cool think was sailing under the Verrazano Bridge, it is weird looking up at the bottom of it, a definite sight not to miss

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Add us to the list. Ages next year will be:

me(dw)48, dh(48), ds(16), ds(13) and ds(10 turns 11 on the cruise!)

This will be our seventh cruise. Very excited about eight day cruise that involves hardly any money spent on excursions, and hardly any planning (cruisewise anyway). Never been to NY so we're planning on 10 days so we could use lots of advice! We were in London last year, but NY seems three times the price, so I hope we can afford it.

Looking forward to our alaska cruise july 12, 2011, disneyland August 23-31, 2011, dream cruise plus WDW Dec. 2011. Hope we don't get sick of disney! Well, I won't, but my family might!

Nice to meet you all and I look forward to lots of NY tips and planning. Curious how the hoppers are going to work out. Bet we'll have to book them like excursions, with platinum getting first choice, then gold, then silver, then everyone else. I guess that would be the easiest way for dcl. They do excursions all the time, this will probably work just like the rest of them.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Hi, neighbour. :wave2: We're in Victoria as well. Such a small world. This will be our six DCL cruise. We're going to do about a week in New York before hand. Travelling with me will DH, DS (17) and DD (16). We're doing Alaska on 23AUG.

Are you going to be down at the breakwater to watch the Wonder come in on Monday?

You can get a good price on NY hotels if you keep watching the prices on Hotels.com, but it is way to early to book to get a good price. You can get discounted theater tickets by going the day of to the TKTS booth on Broadway. For the best Italian food you must try Carmines, but remember...it's family style, so you don't order a dish for everyone, the portions are huge and everyone shares. As I think of more, I will post it.
So glad you will be joining us.

This sounds like something we would like to try. Where abouts is Carmines? Haven't even begun to look at hotels - but it'll be somewhere central.

Need to deal with Alaska cruise first - before I begin this one full throttle.

Carmine's has 2 locations in NY, but there is one right on 44th street

I love all the ethnic foods you can get on the corners. don't be afraid to try them :hippie:
