July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Arlene and I are signed up for the High Tea on the Fourth of July (2 pm to 3pm) Is there anybody else signed up?

Sherry, We also are in a gty room. Disney had it posted on the cruise line web site. Check it out, your room may been assigned. Jim

Hello everyone, Has anyone else seen the "Live From the May Repositioning Cruise" post from the "Disney Cruise Line Forum"? It is fantastic information and great pictures live from the ship. Check it out at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=815319. So far they have already recieved two gifts - a towell and a book. Does anyone know about about the gifts the cruise line gives out and for who? - T-shirts are sold out and distribution of pins has been crazy. They past Cuba today.

Thanks to everyone for all the updated information. I will re-post an update next week. Have a great week. Jim

Dis Meet - either place and time sounds good to me. I am sure dh, dd and I will be there, not sure about my dss.

I have read the thread live from the repo cruise. It was torture. I only got up to page 20 on Sunday. Need to check it out again.

I am starting to get a little nervous. I hate the packing and taking the house with me (let's not mention the unpacking when we get back).

I am open to anything, but unless we know for sure about Deck 7 then I vote for the Promanade lounge at 3:00pm. That gives us time to get on and get settled and eat. It also gives us plenty of time before the life boat drill.

Amy...not to worry about being a kid friendly spot. Unless it is a designated adults only then it is kid friendly. Also being the 1st day on the ship most of the 1000 kids are pretty wound up.

Anyone taking a suitcase JUST for shoes????? :rotfl2:

Hey that sounds like a good idea!! :Pinkbounc Of course one of the kids will have to be tied to the roof of the car to make it to the port but where there's a will there's a way!! Amy :flower: :flower: :rotfl2:

Jim.....I just noticed legalbriefs on another thread ( I think it is May 28 cruise). So I would assume that he is not going with us.

Amy.....You may want to use bungi cords, that way they can move around a little bit :rotfl2:

DD usually leads us with about 10 pair just in case she needs them. Then she usually ends up going bare foot except to dinner and shows.

His signature still includes our cruise. "July 2, 2005 (California) Cat. 1"

Darcy...you are right, I did not even pay attention to his signiture. Hopefully he and some of the others will join us again before the cruise.

Dave

just to repeat: we're DH (42), DW (38), DD (10), DD (6) -- our 3rd cruise, along with DH's sister (40), brother-in-law (40), DS (14), DD (9) and DD (5) from canada -- their 2nd cruise.

just an update on our tours:
puerto vallarta -- paradise beach
mazatlan -- city and beach tour with frank
cabo -- undecided, we might just do it on our own

it'll be my :cake: birthday on the first day of the cruise, july 2 so i am looking forward to extra-special treatment. :teeth:

any comments about paradise beach? any suggestions for cabo? have you heard of adventure island?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry Cruzings, I miss read your post and thought you had just found us. Still it is a great way to spend your birthday... hope everyone has a good day.
Angie

You wrote "Sherry, We also are in a gty room. Disney had it posted on the cruise line web site. Check it out, your room may been assigned. Jim" does that mean your cabin # is posted already? I saw on cruise line forum that someone on the 9th of July saw their cabin assignment listed today. We're a category 8 gty and it still shows gty. Maybe thats a good thing!?!?

For your next update DH = Alan (43 until July 14th), I am 44, DS15 = Shane and DS13 = Bryce.

Thanks so much for keeping track of all that!
Sherry

I am still wondering..... those of you that were in GTY status, do you now see room assignments? Does anyone know if we are sold out or not? When I looked a few days ago it appeared they were still taking reservations.

At what point is it no longer too soon to start packing?? :bored:

I think it is REALLY neat that some of you will be able to hit the port to see the Magic. I read somewhere about the BIG send off on May 28th that will take place. Many Disers are getting together somewhere. Not sure which thread but it was a cruise meets, June 18 maybe???? It is obvious that I am spending way too much time on the computer. I did clean half my stovetop today :rotfl: Laundry is clean, but not away and not sure if family will get a decent dinner tonight. :rolleyes1

I guess we have to postpone seeing the Magic until the following weekend. We are going out to the desert for Memorial weekend. I'm so happy to spend a weekend out in the desert with the sink 1/4 the regular size and 4 kids in our one room trailer, but atleast we have our off-road car that sends all the girls screaming for me as soon as it starts up. Yippeee! I can hardly wait...for the cruise. Amy :flower:

Amy, We are camping Memorial weekend too. Tent camping, little rubbermaid tubs for dishes with 3000+ people at Strawberry Music Festival. We always have fun but I am worried about the possibility of rain....

School is out for the next two days for the Calaveras Fair (Jumping Frog) and I think it is going to rain the entire 4 days. Glad I don't have kids in 4H and have to camp out at the fairgrounds.

Darcy

Amy,

Quick question about the weather. How "rainy" is it there in July? I know here, you have a VERY good chance of Fantasmic being rained out in the summer. Also, I've noticed that in many photos posted recently, people are wearing sweatshirt or jackets and jeans. What's with THAT????? :confused3

Any info would be great.........as I'm ready to open the suitcases and "let the packing begin!"

Fran
:teacher:

Fran,
I'm in Northern Ca and this has been a very rainy spring. By now we are usually well into the 80s and 90s not uncommon. Rain here in the summer is almost never. SoCa, from my recolection of weather reports seems to be the same. Rain is not frequent in July. I'm sure Amy will give you the best scoop, but man oh man has it rained a lot this year. I am not complaining because in my opinion drought is much worse....
Its an El Nino year.

If you are packing then I'm going to start too.

Darcy

I plan on taking all our luggage down about two weeks before.

I am not taking them down any sooner.

I am not taking them down any sooner.

I REFUSE TO TAKE THEM DOWN ANY SOONER. :goodvibes :rotfl: :rotfl:

Every morning, with my cup of coffee I check in. Recently, my day has been starting with a :teeth:. First it was Amy who reminded me that I forgot that just 6 months ago I had to make sure I went to kid friendly places. But what really got me :rotfl: was her request to watch her kids while she and DH got our drinks! I would have a hard time finding my way back if I knew I had a few free moments too!! ;) First time on a ship, it's so big, so easy to get turned around......oh look honey we are at the spa.....

But then today, Anna almost had me convinced that she was going to wait for two weeks before, to take out her luggage.... did I mis-read her comments? That certainly can be a problem with email. :goodvibes

This group has such a sense of humor and with all the birthdays :bday: and anniversaries we have the potential for a non-stop celebration. :cheer2:

I sure hope someone posts pictures of the canal crossing tomorrow. :boat:

Have a good day. This might be our last rainy day for a while, expected 90 on Monday! :sunny:

Darcy :thewave:
