I'm there Deb! :yay: I will need something to offset all that good food! :rolleyes1

I don't know if I will take time out of the day to use the gym, probably not. If I walk everyday, I should be fine. Ok, maybe not fine, but if I add in SOME restraint, I should be ok. :lmao:

Never, ever, ever take the elevator on the cruise! Walk those stairs!!
Besides, the elevators are soooooooooooo small!

I walk everyday.......but not sure I'm doing 6:30am on vacation! :rotfl2:

I like to get up and around also but I'm going to try and force myself to just do what comes natural on the ship and I don't want to look at a clock other than later in the day when I need to be getting ready for dinner! ;)
Would HATE to miss a meal you know!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm with you on the non-elevators. Our first cruise we walked up and down all the time and we actually broke even with our weight.

The second cruise we had ds (6 months at the time) and a stroller so we had to use the elevator. Clothes were a bit snug.

This time we're walking again now that ds5 is old enough. The only exceptions will be formal night and Palo. Those heels look great, but aren't very comfortable.

Let's see if I did my ticker countdown correctly.

I don't know if it is the fresh air or what--but I wake up early and get so antsy. That is why it is a very loosey goosey kind of thing. If your there--great. If not---no problem. It could also have something to do with the mid-day naps I end up taking. LOL!! That is one thing I don't get to do at home. So if I get up early, it is much easier to nap later.

It is a nice time to be out and about because not many people are up at that hour.

I also take the stairs everywhere. There is usually some child who has thought it was funny to push all the buttons anyway. So stairs are usually faster.

:wave2:
Hi everybody, we will also be on this cruise.
Two families, kids are 8,6, & 4.

Adults behave about the same age as the kids.

Welcome Scott! All the way from Scotland? You will have quite a trip before ever getting on the boat! :moped: We lived in the UK for a couple of years and were lucky enough to travel to Scotland briefly. It is so beautiful!! :flower1:

Time is going quickly! We are down to 57 days, I think. :hourglass

Hi Patti,

Yes it's a bit of a journey. We are flying down to London on the Thursday, flying out to Orlando on the Friday, and staying at the Radisson before catching the ship.

It's our 3rd Disney cruise and our friends first. We are so looking forward to the break.

We need a bit of the Disney :wizard:

Welcome! :wave2:
I spent about 3 days in Scotland  way back when.......loved it!
I'm sure you've told your friends how much they are going to love the cruise!! :Pinkbounc

Welcome to the July 1st cruise thread. Will there be kilts worn on formal night? I've seen Dad wearing one and it's not pretty. I would love to see dh wear one. :cool1:

I do get up and walk but after the first cruise when dh gained 7 lbs and myself 5, I decided I needed to try more than walking! I've done the gym but it can get crowded at times. I will be doing stairs....like someone else said, there's always a kid who pushes all the buttons....I've been on those elevators :)

I was looking at someone's "timeline"(? is that the right word)....can't believe it's less than 2 months away - can't wait!!!

My dad gained so much weight on our cruise that on the last night he accused my mother of bringing the wrong pants and he was BUSTING out of them. They fit him a few night before with no problem. We laugh about it now saying "it was the strongest button that ever was". If you saw Harry Potter's aunt being inflated that's what he looked like.

Our friends are really hyped after our previous reports from our vacations, trips we've booked are:

Cozumel - golf trip for Alan & myself.
Castaway - The DW's have booked a cabana massage.
Cayman - 2hr tour to Hell & the turtle farm.

Not booked but thinking about the tram tour at Key West.

On a previous trip my family has tried the trip to stingray city - we can highly recommend that.

For our second week we are staying at a villa near Disney.

As for gaining weight - yup I probably will :rolleyes1

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: OMG, that is too funny! I know that scene from Harry Potter very well, and honestly, I have had that vision of myself at the end of this trip!! I seriously can see me putting on quite a few pounds......

So looks like I will be doing the walk around the ship with you guys.........although, yeah, the 6:30 a.m. may not be my best time of day  And yup, working those stairs too!

I mentioned to a co-worker today that I was trying to lose weight before the cruise, and she said I was going about it all wrong: she said her theory was to eat as MUCH as possible before the trip to stretch out her stomach to make room for all the food she would be eating on the cruise........ :teeth:

An interesting idea.... :scratchin

LOL! That is too funny Nancy!! :lmao: I guess I'm going about it the wrong way too. :confused3

Hey Lisa....where are you?? :wave2:

I am almost done shopping!! One of the last big things was to get a new camera. We have been looking at a Canon since last summer, and I knew eventually it would come down. I found it for a good price over the weekend, and decided to get it yesterday. What I really have left is a new jacket and dress pants for DH, and a few odds and ends, and THAT'S IT! :cool1: I have to say I am so sick of shopping!! :teeth:

Have a great day everyone! 52 to go!!

Patti

Nancy- That is soooo funny about stretching the stomach! I'm going go eat everything I can right now! :rotfl2:

Hi Patti- I don't know where I've been other than going crazy!!!
Alexa and I did a little shopping last weekend, I just can't shop for myself with her! I need to go alone! We both still need a few things.......I TRIED to get in the mood this morning to try things on......but that did not go well......I'm starting to freak out and I really need to get on the ball!

Alexa got a job at the city pool and had her 1st "staff" meeting last night! I'm not sure how she'll fit that in with everything else going on but hey, she can buy her OWN clothes now!! :Pinkbounc
How can it be just 52 days away?!?!!?!? :confused3

Where/when are we meeting???? :confused3

Congrats to Alexa on the job! I know what you mean about the shopping! Almost all of my shopping has been done by myself, or with my mom. When I'm shopping for the girls, that's all I can do. I can't have both kids with me either, or we get nothing done. :sad2:

We have so many things coming up, it's getting crazy. They get out of school 2 weeks from Friday, and their braces off 2 days before that. I think the only school activity we have left is Honors night.

DH has a restored 1967 military ambulance (similar to those in MASH) and it will be in a Memorial Day display this year. He has some work he wants to do on it before then, and we are starting to run out of time. Yikes.

51 days and counting!! :cool1:

Patti

Wow, your kids get off from school early. DS5 gets out on June 21. But I guess it all works out in the end.

I just ordered my ds a pirate costume since I couldn't find a matching shirt for dh.

Good news!!! Aunt Francie is getting out of the hospital on Thursday!!! She will be going home with Aunt Jackie and family who live in Kissimmee (talk about close to WDW). She has gotten the green light to go on the cruise and is really looking forward to it.

I hope I don't start getting nervous about the cruise because then I'll break out in hives.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!          :grouphug:

My girls end school June 19, but the few days before they have finals and only have to go at those times, not the whole day. We start a few days before Labor Day - how about everyone else.....when do your kids start school? I wish they'd take away some of the winter vacations and let them out earlier in the summer.

I'm with you about shopping with the girls - I just sit and wait and wait and wait......now they go with their friends, which is helpful!

The weather in Massachusetts this week is damp, dreary and cool - July 1st can't come soon enough! Is there an area where people are going to meet at some point after we board?
