oooops, I almost forgot, I still have to work today!!
Oh well... I LEAVE FOR FLORIDA TODAY....![]()
Question: How the heck do the airlines expect us to pack everything we need for 10 days into 1 bag per person. DH, of course, has the answer. They don't. They want to you bring another bag so they can charge you for it!!!Pretty soon we'll be buying disposable clothing.

Congrats to Greg...Now Marcy and I are about the last 2 that need a pirate![]()
Ugh! Your husband works for the airline industry?!!? One of my best friends is a mechanic over at the Executive airport, and they're tightening belt straps to the point is afraid he's going to be out of a job, too. Are they relocating because it's cheaper, or are they just downsizing? I would've thought Orlando was one of the best places to base mechanics.
We were discussing packing last night and I told DH that we should all wear as many clothes as possible and we can just take them off when we get there to save on luggage space. All he said is won't they be wrinkled? I had to explain about the form and bag to get things ironed. I love to do laundry but I draw the line when it comes to ironing.
OK--I am officially in panic mode, yet here I sit DISing.Still have laundry to do, clean the house (am I the only lunatic that NEEDS to clean house before leaving?), PACK, grocery shop for the kiddos, pick up odds and ends for the trip, get a manicure. Yikes!
Seeing it in writing is a bit scary. I better start doing something.....

I've talked to Marcy about what we'd do if she had to relocate, and I pretty much think it's been decided that, save some sort of miracle job in a some perfect place, we're stuck here for the long haul. I used to hate Florida, and even took a few trips to the PacNW to see if it was some place that I wanted to live. But then we met some new friends that started taking us on all the back trails, and I realized that, not only does Florida have Disney and the theme parks, but it's also got some great character if you take the back roads, and a lot of great history to explore. I still loathe the heat of summer, and the lack of Autumn (which I live for, being a Midwestern boy), but I can put up with that for the advantages, I think.
Have you ever been over to Fort Christmas for their Cracker Festival? I think that was the turning point for me... I loved that!![]()
Well, if you're like me, it't the panic that makes you work better, faster and more efficiently. Adrenaline junkies always pack better under pressure!
I am right there with you!!!! I haven't thought about a thing and won't until I'm off tomorrow. Let me tell you...under pressure I can get it done and get it done fast!
Bummer....so maybe I'm one of the only ones with no pirate!!!
Yea I have been. I love it tooMY DH and I met in HS (Astronaut High School...isn't that a great name for a school on the space coast) and I've never really lived anywhere but here. So after college he got his first aviation job in up state NY (Newburgh Airport)....so anyway, he lived there a year before he finally decided that maybe getting married would not actually kill him as he had predicted
So we got married and I moved up there. Well, needless to say, he accepted a job in Jacksonville, FL eight months later! I thought I would die as I moved up there in the month of February...what is this snow??? how do you drive in it???? FL peeps just can't handle it. We were in Jacksonville for about a year and then he took this job so we would be right back where we started just a little more inland. He hates the heat here but he knows I will never leave

You are not the only one left without a pirate. Me too! I think I'm going to give myself one
I went to bed last night all caught up on the boards, now I am at work and trying to read everything. I thought we all had to pack or enjoy the parks at WDW!
Tonight will be the final run thru to make sure that we have everything. I know I am forgetting something but I'm not sure what. The suitcases are completely packed, I'm not sure if I will have room for any souviners!
I'm still at work today and tomorrow. Boy is it hard. everyone is coming up asking me when I'm leaving. I've already checked out!
Safe travels to everyone that is leaving today.

I am totally a panic packer!
It's great that you are "home"......DH dreams of that someday. I don't have a license to teach there and am too old to even think about renewing in another state. I will stick to my 8 years left plan and retire. Then I will take DH "home"!
I'll help you fluff for the next ten posts... Then I have to get back to work. Mucho cleaning and packing to be done. You are not the only one left without a pirate. Me too! I think I'm going to give myself one![]()
