July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Yeah... He got a lot of grief for his actions, which I always thought was funny because every PE teacher I ever had threw chairs and kicked over tables. And that was PE. It just seemed like that was a natural response for coaches until I moved out of the state and found out otherwise... :)

I think my PE teachers were too out of shape to lift a chair... :lmao:

If you've ever been to Oviedo Marketplace, you've almost definitely seen me. I'm always there for the free A/C and lunch at Subway. :thumbsup2

Plus, I look a lot grungier than the picture that Marcy posted, because I rarely shave and I'm always wearing ripped shorts and t-shirts. Basically, if you've ever seen a guy in the mall and the first words that popped into your head were, "There's a slacker..." that was probably me. :)

It IS really weird that we came from the same area and ended up so close, though! What are the chances of that?

Yep...we are there lots as well. So sad that it seems to struggle, I personally love it. :confused3 Can't wait to meet you and your family! As far as that goes...can't wait to meet everyone!! This is great for me as my DH is very quiet and reserved and I am....well...not. So I will have plenty of people to chat with :yay:

One of the major pieces of heat training ds14's band directors keep stressing is limit/no dairy in the morning when it's hot. 1st day of parade practice in 98+ temps, the band knew exactly who had dairy and who didn't...ewww...

I never knew about the no dairy. Guess what she had for breakfast-cereal with milk and a glass of milk. note to self for tomorrow- No dairy- orange juice only. I'll see her in a couple hours and report back how she did today.

I graduated from Bowling Green - I love hockey!! The MSU, U of M and OSU games were always great games. Can't get good hockey down here, even though we have some semblance of an almost pro team.

We are HUGE hockey fans in our house! Love those Red Wings. Too bad we couldn't have brought home the cup again this year. Since you were n Chicago for a while are you a Blackhawks fan? by the way I lve Chicago. I did one of my internships just outside of Chicago.

Sorry - definitely Penguin/Steeler/Priate fans here and we like WVU and whoever is playing Michigan.. :rotfl:

My company is based in Ann Arbor - so I get up there at least quaterly for meetings...

Marcy rarely goes there, and I've been telling her for a while that it looks like it's on the verge of closing up shop. I don't think she believed me until we went over the weekend, and she realized that about 50% of the stores are shuttered. It's basically a ghost town until the weekend rolls around and everyone goes to the theater.

I just can't believe how poorly managed it is. They've got all the customers they'll ever need, but they aren't smart enough to put in the stores that will draw them in. Put a good playground back in the center of the food court, some good shops that cater to the stay at home parents who bring their children there to get out of the house, and some good anchor stores, and it looks like the whole thing would be a win. :) But half a dozen jewelry stores, another half dozen Limited Too ripoffs, and an eyebrow sculpting shop probably aren't going to cut it. Especially when Sanford is a quick drive away, and has some fantastic shopping areas.

Mmmmmm... World Market and Super Target. Where would I be without you? :)

Anyway, I'm definitely excited about meeting you, and everyone else for that matter!

URGH not a Penguin fan here!!! :lmao:Yes you won the cup, kinda felt bad for Hossa and leaving the Penguins to come to Detroit. Now he's off to Blackhawks (I think) where quite a few Wings went.
When Kayla was 2 and the Wings won the Stanley cup, she got to sit in the cup! Ok, I quickly put her in it and told my friend to snap the picture. :rotfl2:The keeper of the cup did not like it to much! But she had her picture taken in it with one of the Wings!:thumbsup2

Ann Arbor is not too far from us! I'd go there for a few parties when I was at Eastern Michigan right down the street!

We are WDW! We checked into SSR @ 8 this morning tired but glad to be here. It is hotter than heck and crowded. Even with a fast past we waited 30 min at Buzz. Can't wait to meet those thta will be at the Turf club thursday.

YAY! Typically, the parks thin out a bit in the evening, particularly after a thunderstorm (which may or may not hit you there). If you can return to the parks after that, you might find it a little more easy going. But summers are pretty packed regardless, and is just a matter of degrees of packed. :)

Still, have fun! You'll be able to cool off with an ocean breeze and some snorkel gear in a few days! :)

Is it still raining a ton?

No rain in downtown Orlando today.

It rained a ton yesterday, but it rained a ton within an hour's time frame. Other than during tropical storms, it never rains for long.

Very odd...we have so much in common. We only live a few miles apart, we love Disney, you go to UCF and I work here...and I was born in Evansville, IN. We moved to FL when I was less than 1....but very funny :rotfl: I was hoping that I recognized you both from the posted picture but I don't...come on...Oviedo/Tuskawilla isn't that big!!!

I will laugh if one of our kids knows your son, though. You'd think that with only 60,000 people between the two cities, we'd have run into each other at least once!

Did you see that Oviedo was named to Money's Top 100 places to live? They must be alternating between Oviedo and WS from year to year because they don't want to list both in one year.

True, but how often did I actually stay in doors when we were there? :)

But where would you put all your stuff in a studio apartment?

Ugh, sorry. We stopped going in the summer after we did it once in 1997. Too many people and too hot. I hope you're having a great time, though -- we know we're spoiled!

It's POURING here, now. But it'll probably stop in two minutes, and then be hot and muggy and miserable. Sometimes, Seattle sounds really nice.

It's because they finally got a Tijuana Flats.

But where would you put all your stuff in a studio apartment?

By "stuff" I have to assume you mean the kids. I'd put them both in the closet to make room for the television and Xbox.

Yeah. I always feel bad when I tell people to avoid summer trips to Florida at all costs. I have to remind myself that it's much easier to deal with long lines and the heat when you only get to visit on rare occasions. :)

The girls' soccer camp included a "no dairy!" direction as part of the camp brochues!

Ok, I'm a little grossed out by this, but it's good to know........interesting.....so no milk with cereal in the morning or yogurt, etc? How about ice cream the night before?

My friend Barb who lives right by WDW says the MK area has been having the most rain and that we should bring our ponchos for the parks and port. Ugh. There's few things I hate more than ponchos in 92 degree weather. :headache:

I spoke to Lucy today and she said the weather wasn't bad, can you confirm Marcy and Greg?popcorn::

Kayla did well at soccer camp. Yes!! now she's eating a ham and cheese then off to volleyball.

Lissa- Glad to hear you made it to Florida. I hope it doesn't rain next week.

When is the last day/night to make excursion changes/cancelation? Is tonight the last night?

Still no rain in Orlando.

Well, a lot of it depends on your digestive system, but -- ICKY ALERT! -- some people get runner's trots if they consume dairy before they participate in a sport that requires a lot of running, like soccer. Plus, when you run around in a very hot climate, dairy can really sit in your stomack and cause indigestion.

Yogurt is usually okay because of the composition and good bacteria and because most people don't eat more than 6 ounces of yogurt at a time.

Dairy the night before is fine because it'll be digested. This only applies to food you're going to eat right before (2 hours or less) a game.

I spoke to Lucy today and she said the weather wasn't bad, can you confirm Marcy and Greg?popcorn::

Define "bad"? :rotfl: It's hot as heck but not rainy in Orlando, although it looks like we're about to have a powerful but short storm in about 30 minutes.

Florida weather is notorious for having patches of heavy rain without widespread coverage. It's been raining here for about two hours, give or take. Pretty hard actually. It definitely cooled off the house, though! :)
