July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

We ended up one more suitcase than we hoped even after we have cut down on what we are bringing! It is SOOOOOOOO much easier when we cruise out of Galveston! Just 2 of us and no airplanes to worry about!

We may need another - we're not done packing....:rolleyes1 Actually, we tend to pack more when we sail out of Galveston, But, just because it's two of us, without all of the extra Disney specific stuff, it seems less.

We enjoy game nights at our house too!

Cruise friends told us about Killer Bunnies. We're hooked - but because of the expansion packs of cards, it's too big of a card game to bring with us. We packed Phase 10, my parents are big game players too. If you see us playing, join us!

So DD2 decided that 5:30am was a good wake-up time this morning. That of course woke up DD7. DH got up early yesterday, so my turn this morning! Ugh! Wish I drank coffee...:headache:

I finished the door magnets last night. They all turned out except one. It was a Nemo design that I thought was really cute. Since I didn't have any more magnet paper, I redid it on regular paper and cut out the original one to make a magnet frame. We'll see. DD2 is REALLY into Nemo all of the sudden. Every time I turn around she's asking "Nemo? Dori?" You should have seen her at the aquarium at SeaWorld, running from glass to glass pointing, "Look! Dori!" Unfortunately, they didn't have any clown fish. :confused3

So I popped in the DVD for the 100th time this week and she's lounging in front of the TV waiting for the sun to come up. I decided to jump on the DIS and see if I could catch the early morning pirate pirate: run.

The computer is in DD2 bedroom here, so all these late night and naptime runs are hard for me. :sad2:

Pixie dust for BomaJack and Jamie! pixiedust:

I've been trying to convince my DM that I'm not crazy. Not sure I'll win that one...:rolleyes1 But yesterday when I was frantically trying to recreate all our door magnets, I posted a request on the door magnet board. I could find ones for everyone except DD7 and me. Within an hour, someone posted two Mickey heads - a princess and a minnie - for us with our names. Now everyone in the family has their own special one created just for them. I was sooooo touched! :flower3: I told my Mom, "See? These are really nice people and I'm not weird to want to prepare and have fun with this cruise. There are lots of other folks just like me!!!!!" :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

I have more magnet paper, if you had one you wanted to make You could pm or post it and I can bring it with me and stick it on your door. We leave Tomorrow bright and early though so let me know :)

Wow! Thanks!

I'm going to try and post here - anyone who wants to use it, should feel free to do so. It's not personalized - just cute!

Let's see if this works....(remember, I'm not the techie!!!)

Thanks to all for the good wishes and pixie dust re: my broken A/C system. :) You guys did the trick as it ended up being a minor repair (a new capacitor) :woohoo: and not the dreaded "ma'am, you need to replace the whole system" repair that I was anticipating. Given that the later would have run close to $5K, this was a HUGE relief. Especially given that we had to put an unexpected $2K into car repairs last Friday. (Don't ask.)

We are - - make that I am - - frantically packing now as we've decided to head out this afternoon and break up the ride with a stop overnight in beautiful Valdosta, GA! Works for me; I hate long car rides. This way we'll have about 3-1/2 hours tonight and maybe another 4 to 4-1/2 tomorrow to Saratoga Springs.

CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU ALL!!!:banana:

Have a great trip and congrats on the A/C! We can't wait to meet you in person -- Cassie has been talking about Claire and is really excited to see her on the ship!

Drive safely! See you Saturday! I can't wait!

Monica- another DH on here. That's terrific! My DH says now what, not another pirate race??? Now who are you talking too? But I do keep him updatedvon what is going on! DD is so excited about meeting your DD!

I can barely concentrate here at work and I have 4 more days to go.

My mom was lurking on here today. She was going to post but didn't know how to! LOL. I was on her computer yesterday and forgot to log out! Hi MOM!! She said I was whining because I was complaining that we had to get up too early on Saturday!

I've never heard of Killer Bunnies, but I can see nothing but awesomeness in a game with that name. :)

Awesome! Have a safe and fun trip (bring crossword puzzles... that killed a thirteen hour drive to Indiana for us!). I don't know if I would be able to stop... I'd be all, "If we drive straight through, we could spend the entire day there!" Of course, I'd be grumpy the next day from lack of sleep, but in my mind it would've been a brilliant plan until then. :)

And to fluff a little for the next pirate race:

I'm going to teach my girls how to draw a new Disney character every day until we leave. You'd be surprised how much smoother dinners go when you give the girls a pad of paper and a pencil, and then tell them to draw you something. :)

DD12 draws a mean Mickey...

That's awesome! Is he a good drawer in general, or has he just mastered the art of Mickey Mouse? :)

I'm fine with the heads, but the moment it gets to the bodies I'm all sorts of horrible. I'm not sure why, but I just can't draw bodies.

combination of both- she definitely did not inherit my lack of artistic genes - but, years ago at WDW, DH -darling husband, or some other "d" word depending on the climate at our house...If you're lurking - luv ya John! ;) picked up a book on how to draw Mickey and how to draw Winnie the Pooh. Maggie appropriated them earlier this year and has been working on full size poses.

I liked the guy at Beaches and Cream that could draw a Mickey profile out of ketchup. I can only draw if a ruler is involved.

Gotta go. Happy Pirate run!
