July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

I can finally go on the cruise! I'm no longer a virgin. I think we'll name it Captain Finally!

Captain Finally - CONGRATS:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I can't believe, next week, AT THIS TIME (8:00 AM) the race will be on to get to the port AND OUR CRUISE OF A LIFETIME BEGINS!:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Jo-Jo #1: I'll be in WDW next Monday - yippee:yay::yay: - please:worship: bring me a copy of the deck plans - not taking my computer this time.

So strange to hear everyone speak of their children getting driving permits at 15...PA is still 16.

Joann #1: is ANYTHING ever easy where you are concerned - NO:hug:
so glad everything turned out....see you at the Boardwalk/Beach Club Thursday sometime. :cool1: You and Ken, together all that time - WOW:scared1:

Where is my 'friend' BomaJack?:confused3:laughing:

Ah well - I missed another pirate race - I'm working again... great way to spend the anniversary... 17 Yrs here!

I've decided I'm not getting anymore pirates until BomaJack gets one, but I'll support all pirate runs until that point.........pirate:

Ah hah hah! Don't be silly! If I don't have competition, then I'm not EARNING my piratey-ness! :flower3: pirate:

Cass was sleeping in the computer room last night, so I couldn't come in to check the board until now! I need to charge that laptop!

Congratulations! But if I was you, I would've fluffed all the way through if I was the only person around. pirate:

Then I tried to add her to the GG dinner and I was literally on hold for THREE HOURS today, trying to get this resolved.........after talking to FOUR WDW employees, I found out that I DID NOT HAVE A RESSIE ANYMORE FOR OUR GG EXPERIENCE. Only the last agent seemed to give me straight answers, so after waiting another 4 hours, she called me and told me that our entire party of 5 will now be at the GG event..........:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Yipppppeeeeeee!!!!! :yay:

I miss Joanne posting in the early am from Burkina - she was always up for an early morning race...

hehe! :rolleyes1 Can't believe how early you guys were up! I got up at 7:30, got the girls some breakfast and they are happily watching Nemo - so thought I'd check the early morning pirate run. Too late!!!:scared1:

Congratulations! But if I was you, I would've fluffed all the way through if I was the only person around. pirate:

How very "pirate-y of you"...pirate:

Ohhhh, I can't wait to hear the stories! I'm a lifetimer. Have been in scouting for nearly 40 years( all my life). Now I'm telling my age. I have plenty of camping stories that I tell my girls. I was actually suppose to take my girls to Mackinaw Island the week of this trip, but I told them that this was a once in a life time opportunity and I could not pass it up. ( there will be more than 30 of us for a family cruise-I'm the only one on here though) They understood and and hopefully we will be able to plan a larger trip next year-if they all come back. Since they are going in middle school is kind of hush hush of course, but I have been trying to drill the importance of college acceptance and such. They are so close to the silver award, all they have to do is to actually do the project, which they can't do until next year. I had 10 this year, and I really hope they all come back to do the trip next year, and to earn their Silver Award.

I loved working with the troop! They were the quirkiest bunch of leaders and kids I'm probably ever going to run into in one setting. There was a lot of drama there... not entirely unlike watching episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 starring eight year olds, but it never got old. :)

How very "pirate-y of you"...pirate:

You can't be a *nice* pirate. If you're going to be a nice pirate, you're probably more of a buccaneer, and that isn't as cool sounding... Buccaneer race... It just doesn't roll off the tongue the same way. :) pirate:

OK, all this FE stuff - I am feeling very bad - all your planning, making, etc. Mine is so simple and plain, I feel stupid! I should drop out but I have such a cute FE! I'm sad.:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

This is supposed to be FUN so please don't stress!!

I know it's easier said than done, though, as I've been guilty of it, too. I'm not kidding when I tell you that my two DDs and I spent at least 2 hours at the fabric store trying to decide on the perfect combo of fabrics/colors for the FE (my first attempt and darn it, I wanted perfection!) and THEN at least another hour or so at another store obsessing over which little goodies to pick to give away. My DD11 finally gave ME the eye-roll I usually give HER and said, "Mom, just decide. You don't even know these people and besides, they'll like whatever we give. Remember, it's the thought that counts." Since then I've tried to keep my obsession to myself! :)

Good morning everyone! Sleep is such a wonderful thing I no longer feel like biting someones head off. Plans for today include Barnes and Nobel for books, school work and yuck paying bills.

We do not board our bulldog or our kitty. We have a house sitter that stays here with them and takes care of everything. Both pets are so spoiled that boarding would never work. Though we have used doggy daycare before.

Ok, I have to share what happened today......

First, last week, I received a phone message indicating that I never paid the remaining balance on my WDW ressie, so my 2day trip was cancelled on Tuesday of this week to the AKL.

I found out and flipped out, it was a email/snail mail misunderstanding and was resolved.....

When this happened, I think my GG ressie was cancelled.

Then, my DD22 realized she could join us in WDW next Thursday and Friday.

When I called and tried to add her to our ressie including park tix, dining plan and GG dinner on Friday, I had to totally change our resort, pay a fortune and get her included in our WDW experience.

Thx to everyone who provided info today..........I did write a complaint email to guest services about all of this, I'm so happy it's resolved and we can now look forward to next week's events...........thx again to all and sorry again for getting the pirate today, I was in the middle of all this fiasco and somehow I ended up with the 100 post!

Also, my DD24, is still working on our deck plans chart with her BF for the FE list...........they say it will be done by Monday.........I will post their maps when they are done.........

Oh, BTW, my DH and I are married 29 years today............and they said it wouldn't last..........:rotfl2:

OMG, how frustrating! And especially so because it was Disney-related and Disney's supposed to know better/do better! Glad it's resolved!

And congrats on the anniversary! That's terrific! :flower3:

Jamie

You know how we know we spend too much time obsessing about this cruise? Greg and I were talking about you in the car today as if we knew you IRL. "Which one is Claire's mom" "Jamie. You know, Georgia Jamie." "Oh. yeah, she's really great."

:rotfl:

Too funny! I've been doing the same with my DH and bless his heart, he's trying to keep up as I reference various people, but he's struggling!

It is amazing what strong connections can be made on a board like this. I absolutely feel like I know many of you already, and have known you for a long, long time.

Jamie

We're leaving the 17th and staying at CBR for one night. Very excited- now I need to start getting organized!
Anyone else leaving a pet behind? Our 14 year black lab will be staying at a kennel for our trip. His first time...now that he's an old man he needs a little extra care. Usually my mom watches him, but she is coming with us!
Hope he'll do ok-it's supposed to be a very good place. (expensive too- but he's part of the family!)

We are leaving 2 yorkies at a kennel also. They are very big parts of our family too. The only good thing is it is our groomer and I believe she loves them almost as much as we do.:):)
