Hello Everyone!! Kanga1 (Jana) here. a.k.a. "Captain Jingles" Been "absent" for way too long from this board. Spent the summer focusing on our trip to WDW in late July, then school started (teacher) and I've been having a heck of a time getting into the swing of things. ANYWAY...I've vowed to keep up with this thread, lest you all plan a "mutiny" while on board and you won't know me. Don't want to get tossed overboard!!:lmao:

Nancy- We've had some additions to our group! My MIL and BIL will be joining us! Their first ever cruise and I know they'll have a great time! My MIL is 82 but looks and acts SO much younger. Also, could you change my DD's age to (8)? That's how old she'll be during the cruise. I hope she can find some friends to play with. She's an only child but is SO social!:chat:

Welcome back! My (almost 8 at the time of the cruise) 7-year old nephew will be with us. We'll have to have them meet up, if she doesn't mind boys :)

First time poster. Just want to see who my wife is with every night. The boards are now a part of the marriage. The kids are all gone, I am here to take a more active role in our next VC:cool1:

Also on a happy note, DS just got engaged!!

His fiance is lovely and is completing her master's and advanced certificate at Tuft's so we're thinking the wedding won't be for a while.

Very cool!!! Congratulations to the happy couple!:yay:

returned at 1:30 this morning from Las Vegas! This was probably my favorite trip. In trying to figure out why, I think it boils down to our accomodations. This trip we switched from Monte Carlo (stayed there three times) to Planet Hollywood (old Aladin resort). The proximity is a little better and has many more food choices. I love the Miracle Mile Mall that is connected to it too!

Saw Donnie & Marie on THursday night. The show was FANTASTIC!! They are at the Flamingo which was a really cool "old style Vegas" theater. THey did some of their old stuff together then each performed by themselves before returning to finish together. THey closed with their closing theme song from their 80s variety show. Nice blast to the past. I had one of those "insert foot" moments where the theater got quiet. Donny heard me and got cracked up saying, "Lady, you have impecable timing"!! Poor Mark was embarrassed and almost under the table.

Of course, Manilow was AWESOME as usual! His show is totally different from the last time although his shows are always dfferent no matter how often you see him! He has a new 80s tribute CD coming out this year and he sang some stuff from it including "Memory" from Cats! Some guy behind us got annoyed because we were standing and "rockin". He wanted us to just sit and watch.....everyone in front of us was standing too and I didn't come to a concert/show to be passive! Some people just don't know how to have fun! They ended up leaving! PLEASE!!!!!:confused3 I'll have to post a full report on my blog for you all later including some "interesting" pictures"!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say my weekend was better there, mom. Karaoke, girls & two parties. Yes, ma'am.

AAAAWWWW!!!! How sweet! BTW ~ We are harmless....no worries, Ken!:rotfl:

If you need a kid, just let me know. I have three I would gladly loan! notice the key word is "loan"....who in their right mind would rent my kids??????:confused3

What did you say/do? Inquiring minds want to know the full story!!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

DH would have been embarrassed and almost under the table, even to be in the same room with Donny and Marie or Barry and me :lmao: What a great husband (John - I know you lurk, see, her husband willingly went to the concerts with his wife... ;) )

Hey! I did go see Barry Manilow in Chicago with her. I've also seen the Barenaked Ladies with her, although I they're one of my favorite bands. Oh, and I saw Three Dog Night with her. It's about time she went and saw one of my bands with me.:thumbsup2

My dearest John, as in Fatphil32, I believe Monica is referring to her DH, JOHN!!!! DUH! Blonde moment, right???

Monica, Mark admits that D&M was much better than he thought it would be. He doesnt remember their variety show, since he's younger than me!

We both like Barry Manilow....he does a fantastic show. So, tell your John to TAKE YOU!!!

We tried to change our flight to come home today. We met a couple who had two extra tickets to see Jimmy Buffet last night!!!:scared1: The price to change the flightwas the same as our R/T flight and three nights hotel!!!!:scared1: :scared1:

Our blog is updated (link below) just remember I do all the photography and the blog, so I don't get implicated! BTW son, I have a different password, so don't even think about it!!!!:rolleyes1

well, he was singing "Puppy Love". It was toward the end of the song, big finish orchestra building, and he says "this is not a....." I thought he was going to do the "Puppy Love" line, but he broke to change songs, and it got perfectly quiet in the room. I proceed to say "Oh, yeah it is baby"!!! He stops, turns away from the crowd and was totally cracked up. :rolleyes1 Fortunately he didn't know which lady said it, but he turns back around laughing and says " You have impecable timing, Lady"!!!! Then he forgot what song he was suppose to do next and had to ask the conductor!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: You don't count - As parents, it's in our job description to seek out the most embarrassing moments to inflict torture on our children.

You, as children, in turn torture us with your music... ;) Somehow, I've raised a country music fan. Don't know how, but dd11 loves country music. ds14 on the other hand, is a total band geek - his favorite is John Williams at loud decibels :lmao: :woohoo:

Another parent responsibility designed to inflict torture - use outdated slang - is it still geek ? :confused3 ;)

Three Dog Night would be another great concert!!!

We actually saw Three Dog Night twice. THey were at Epcot Food and Wine. DH and I saw the Beach Boys there last year!

Hey Monica.....how far are you from Vegas. I realize that Texas is like a massive state, so I was curious.........

Yeah, geek's still in. I usually just say things like that's whack.

dude, whack, jank, dank, ya feel me, & man are all words I commonly use for no purpose.
