I didn't sleep also, knowing Jenny and her family were coming along on the cruise.....and I LOVE her ticker (The Golden Girls, personally, gang, I'm the 'mother' of this group! ).....these DISboards are awesome and Jenny, JoAnn, JoAnn's 'rents' and all our families have become very, very good friends, meeting up in NYC, NJ, Florida, Cincinnati, Chicago, King of Prussia since we've meet - it is a wonderful friendship and I can't thank these boards enough I hope we can continue these 'meetings' with others on this thread

Starwood: we've added our 22 yr. old son to this cruise also, Bryan. Let's just say, he WANTS to go, he LOVES Disney cruises, but things could change till next year, fortunately we had a cabin for 4, so it was easy to add him.

How is everyone else doing? I can't believe our 2 weeks in Florida went so quickly. Our school starts August 25, Tyler only has 3 more weeks of freedom

Hey Monica, I hope your hurricane gathering is going well. We are just bunkered in hoping for the best. At least I got a day and a half off work.

We're well - we lost power from about 9-noon today. John and I lucked out - John's entire family invaded John's aunt and uncle's much bigger house last night - and Mike and Maggie spent the night with friends. So John and I enjoyed a quiet morning. How easily we forget what life is like with an 19 month old and 3 year old.

We're in a holding pattern waiting for the rental company to clear us back to the beach house.

Wow, that was easy... Hurricane is over now and all we got was rain. Little bit of gusty wind, but we've had worse just from thunder storms. It was raining pretty hard this morning, but never lost power and it was over by noon. Couldn't have gone any better

What Fatphil (John) and Jfis (Jenny) are trying to tell my new DISer friends, 'it doesn't take much' for me, Lucy, to get happy with ONLY one drink.....this is why I've named myself Captain Dizzy

I've already told Bob (my DH) I only need ONE sailaway drink, and ONE drink on Castaway.....one is ENOUGH - let me tell you, my friends, in 2005, I went to a wine tasting on the ship (of which I will participate again - anyone in on that?), it was a site to see, right JoAnn and Jenny?
Unfortunately they have it on the last day and then (ship) expect you to go back to your room and pack.....oh, another thing y'all may want to know about me.....Bob (my DH) packs for me....yea, you see, I'd take the kitchen sink along if I did it myself! I tell him what I'm taking, he takes out 1/2 of what I said I'm taking, and I've never had a problem.....Bob is very organized, Lucy here, embarrassingly enough, is NOT an organized person (but I'm fun!)

Matt officially got his driving permit yesterday.

We went on the 2005 Mexican cruise with my DM (never cruised) and MIL. It was "interesting".

Where is everyone??? Starwood (Nancy) can you remind me how to load your logo in the signature? I think you copy it to your computer, right click properties and then copy/paste it to the signature page. Is that right?

My DD hasn't gotten back to me, so let's keep the logo unless someone has a better idea.............of course, we can change it if we need to...........sound good?

we should "play" a little game to get to know each other better(I hope you don't thinks this is stupid - no snide comments son - I know you are lurking downstairs!....we'll call it "10 things about me". I love to know "things" about people!!

I'll start............
1. I was born and raised in Indiana, which makes me a Hoosier. While I am very proud of that, no one really knows what a Hoosier is!
2. Mark and I have been married 13 years (last week). My kids are John - 14 (fatphil32), Marshall - 11 and Mallory - 9
3. I LOVE sports particularly baseball. We are HUGE Cincinnati Reds (baseball) and Bengals (football) fans and have season tickets for both!
4. I teach 4th grade, have for 23 years and still enjoy it! .
5. I love to travel with WDW being my favorite place (besides DCL)!
6. We are DVC members at BWV
7. I love to talk sports with guys because women usually find my love for sports a little weird.
8. When we travel in the car I ALWAYS drive. I LOVE to drive cars. It probably comes from being a car dealer's daugher?
9. I am very honest and that isn't always a good thing. People alway know what I am thinking!!:
10. I was born Jan. 22 (like someone else on this thread - I'll let that person identify him/herself - but I am one year younger than them!). That makes me an Aquarian (whatever that means!)


I am SO DARN EXCITED about this cruise that I can't stand it!

1. I'm married for 28 years to DH Ken (51)..........I'm 46 (they said it was a miracle that we would last and so far, we've defied the odds!)

3. We live in Newtown, PA (for 21 years) originally from Philadelphia.
4. I LOVE the beach and to travel (to mostly beaches)
5. I LOVE WDW and DCL, my favorite travel places! We usually go about twice a year to WDW and once a year to DCL.
6. I teach 4th grade and have been teaching a variety of grades and jobs for 15 years. Formerly, I taught gymnastics for about 20 years.
7. I love to read, my current favorite author is Elin Hildebrand. "A Summer Affair" "Beach Club" "Barefoot"...........all read this summer. Also, just read my first Jane Green "Beach House".........note the common theme of the books.
8. Also, I love NYC and going to Broadway shows.
9. I'm a people person and I like to talk (hence, the daily posts on these boards.)
10. My Bday is January 22........I'm an aquarian, which means I'm alittle quirky but always a lot of fun.........and I'm slightly more mature than the previous poster..............

lovely idea!

1. Bob and I have been married for 24 years THIS year (25 next year!), and have lived in Kutztown all our married life

2. We have two sons, Bryan 22 and Tyler 16 (junior in high school this yr) - both kids are VERY shy until you get to know them

3. Our favorite things in life are Disney and Disney and Disney - DCL (been approx. 6 times), Disneyworld (over 50 times), also DVC members since 2005 at Saratoga but love to stay at Boardwalk, Disneyland (one visit in 2005 when we meet some of the DISers)

4. Bob is a merchandise manager for JCPenney for 24 years, I recently retired from Kutztown University as a secretary for 34 years...at this point don't EVEN try to figure out my age....now I substitute at the school district in the offices, study halls, teacher aides, hall monitors and love every minute of it (I tease all of you teachers ONLY because I worked for teachers ALL my life and all of my friends are teachers!) and babysit a precious little girl twice a week during the school year.

5. We LOVE Broadway shows and NYC. Have seen so many shows. Bob also directs our high school musicals (no training, but for the love of it) - I am SO proud of his productions, our best shows (of course Disney) were Beauty and the Beast and AIDA - our both boys have and do perform in the shows - they are usually the comedy role (wonder who they get that from!)
I also volunteer with the musicals - any job that is available.....I do love the kids....my own? mostly, except when the attitude comes out of them!

6. Bob and I met on a cruise 26 years ago....Holland America, to Bermuda....this is why the entire family LOVES cruising, I believe. We grew up about 1 mile from each other but never knew each other until the cruise. We are BOTH from Pa. Dutch parents - unfortunately only my mother is still living, in a nursing home - we miss all of them.

7. We have met such special friends thru these cruise boards, and have visited with them everywhere - NYC, Cincinnati, Chicago, NJ, Florida - we LOVE talking about DISNEY to anyone.

8. Bob and i are NOT sport fans, theater people we are - so when the rest of you start talking football, I'll talk about the weather!

9. My birthday is Feb. 27 - Pisces, but I'm scared to death of swimming, but love cruising Bob's birthday is Aug. 25

10. I talk too much! Bob is quiet.....makes a great marriage!

1. DH& I were both born and raised in College Point, Queens, NY. We met in gradeschool (kindergarten, actually), began "dating" between grammar and HS and have been together ever since!!! Literally childhood sweethearts (Awwwww )
2, We'll be married 31 years on the 20th of Aug.
3. We live in Malverne, in Nassau County on Long Island.
4. We have a DD (28) & married to a super guy and lives on LI. DS (24) just moved to outside of Boston with his sweetie. Both of our kids are HS social studies teachers.
5. I am a HS science teacher for about 16 yrs. DH is in banking.
6. We are DVC members - one of the best things we ever did!
7. I LOVE Disney and DH puts up with my addiction. He won't admit it, but he is very fond of the mouse, too!
8. I love to read adventure novels and garden.

I kinda posted a get to know me a while back, but nobody played along so I'll join this time!

1. My name is Krista and I'm 26 years old. My DH is Rob and he is also 26 years old. We have been married 3 years.

2. We have no kids, but we do have two Jack Russel Terriers. A boy named Bevo and a girl named Belle.

3. I teach 4th and 5th grade on a loop. So this year I'll teach 5th grade to my the same kids I had for 4th grade. Rob teaches middle school PE.

4. My husband and I met in college where he was on the football team and I was on the soccer team. He is now a high school football coach.

5. We own DVC at SSR. We bought it in 2007 while we were at WDW for 2 weeks celebrating our 2nd anniversary.

6. I have a lot of very close friends from Tour Guide Mike. com but I mostly lurk on the DIS. I'm hoping to meet some DISers from this thread so I can feel more comfortable posting on the DIS.

7. My birthday is May 21 and my husbands is May 7th. We are exactly two weeks apart!

8. When we aren't traveling to WDW in the summer we are camping. We have a 27 foot pull behind travel trailer.

9. We went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico this past May for my best friends wedding and that is when we decided that we might like to try a cruise. I saw the Disney Magic docked near our hotel's beach and it was love at first sight! I took about 100 pictures of it that day. I knew I needed to get on board soon!

10. I can't think of anything else to say except I just got Wii Fit today so I'm waiting for my DH to hook it up so I can play it! I want to get in shape for the cruise.

Hey MaryAnn......it sounds like you two beat the odds too.............did you marry in college?
