Hi,

I haven't posted in a long time so I know I'll never catch up with everything.

We have added 2 more cruisers to our group- my mother-in-law and her husband. They booked about a month ago. THey have never cruised before and are very excited. We are now up to 16 family members.

I did just see the state list. My mother-in-law amd my ssiter-in-law are from Massachusettes, my sister and her family are from Virginia. We"re from NY and my son who lives in Texas is coming.

Welcome back, Wendy!! How is your family doing???

I haven't posted (been reading) for a long time either...focusing on our 2 week trip to Disney coming up later this month!

BUT...add 2 more to our group too!!! My MIL (who will be 81 at time of sailing, but is more like a 60 year-old) and my BIL. This will be their FIRST cruise and I am so excited for them!!! We are all from West Virginia.:lovestruc

a.k.a Captain Jingles

Fabulous! My mom and dad are presently almost onboard as well! I'll confirm this weekend!!

Our state & country list

New Jersey

The reason I'm doing this list is so, when we DISmeet, we can, perhaps, bring a memento from our hometowns to share either in a grab bag or in a fish extender exchange.

No smelt allowed............ but you CAN bring a car for everyone!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :worship: :rotfl:

We are doing fine. It was difficult for for me to get back and post on the boards ( I don't know why even though I did read them-) but things are much better now. - My mom still has her sad days occassionally but she's doing fine. She's coming to Fla. with us in a couple of weeks. We're going to Vero Beach to check out her house. She hasn't been there since my dad died. We'll spend a few days at Disney Vero and then go to WDW for a week. She loves to travel and is always going somewhere. It's good for her. The baby had his last operation 2 weeks ago and looks great. My son and his wife just bought a house in Houston. We're hoping to go at the end of August to see it. My other son just finished his sophomore year at college and my daughter will be a senior in high school. We'll be starting the college search again.

How is your family? I did read aboiut your daughter studying in Europe. What a wonderful opportunity. Will your parents be crusing with us next year?

Kanga1- My mom will be 80 and acts 10 years younger. I hope your mil and my mom can get together.

Warning - this is a vent!!!

I hate my life. I went for the artery study and they just loved my arteries. They were so clean. So I called the opthalmologist and he was in this morning and left and won't be back until Tuesday!!! By Tuesday I will have had this *#@!** problem for 3 weeks.

Now that that's off my chest - how is everyone else's day going.

Hope your eye is feeling better. You can vent here anytime:hug:

We're going too! :cool1: Just booked our cruise. It will be our 2nd cruise with DCL. Our last was in October 2007 - we had Hurricane Noel and didn't get to go to Castaway Cay but went to Nassau instead. We've also been on a Royal Caribbean 3 day cruise from LA to Mexico - lets just say - it wasn't Disney.

We are in a category 8 room, 6510. We'll be traveling (so far) with 2 other families - one from our kids school and one from work - with a potential for 2 more families to come also.

My daughter will be 13 and my son 12 by the time we travel - can't wait. Not sure if we're staying before or or after to go to WDW - depends on how cheap I can get a flight from San Francisco.

Is this the only thread for the trip or are the others?

Welcome! Lucy is right, we are a wonderful, friendly, crazy, group!

Wow, Wendy, thx for asking! You know your family is always in our prayers especially your mom. Glad to hear that she's been traveling! So your son who was recently married............ is in Houston?

Our girls have been challenging us this year. The oldest DD24 studied in Germany and London. Germany was a challenge in general and in London, she required emergency surgery after arriving (alone) after two weeks. She is safely back in the USA and studying in NYC this summer. We'll be up! The second DD21 studied in Rome for the last 7 weeks. She's entering her senior year in college. We'll be glad to get her back this Sunday. The baby (DD18) graduated and will start college this fall (so we're in mourning that our parenting era has changed for good:confused: ) All good things...... but the worrying has escalated alittle!

"The Rents" will be 50 this summer. Their anniversary is actually on the 5th. They have recently expressed an interest in joining us next summer on this cruise. As soon as they book, I'll confirm.

Glad to hear that your family is doing well. Also, glad you're sailing with us (and MaryAnn!)

Happy 4th of July

Good Morning and Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!! Thanks to everyone who has served and are serving in the Armed Forces!!!

I'm borrowing a bit of a tradition from my previous cruise thread, Friday Karaoke.

The Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Happy 4th to Everyone!

John finished working a race downtown this morning and is waiting in line for the Houston Symphony Tickets- free, reserved, covered pavilion for the concert and fireworks tonight. He finished up the race at 9:00. This time, he's prepared to wait the 2 1/2 hrs until the ticket window opens. He brought his iPod, chair and a book. :cool1: :lovestruc

I'm on my own. DH and DS left yesterday for CA. I've been cleaning and doing laundry. Funny how things tend to stay clean when there is no one else around to mess it up.

Ok, the Rents are in! (That is my nickname for my parents!):goodvibes They booked on DVC points today. So we'll have to have a mini-meet for parents of DISers who are coming on this trip!:rotfl:

I think we should start a "What state is everyone from list?":confused3

I'll start.............

Pennsylvania

Hey Jo Ann! We're just back home from our whirlwind trip around the U.S. and our first DCL cruise!!!!

I love and hate this type of question because I never know how to answer:

I was born in California. Have lived in Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, Nebraska, Tennessee and Virginia in the U.S.; France, Kazakhstan, El Salvador, and Burkina Faso overseas; and when we get on the cruise we will be headed to yet another overseas assignment. I graduated from high school in Nebraska - but don't have any family ties there anymore. My folks are in Texas, but the majority of my extended family are in Colorado. DH was born in Missouri, but grew up in Virginia. We met in Virginia and own a house there, but it's rented since we currently live overseas. SOOOOOOOOOO........ :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

People generally regret asking me where I'm from because it's not a simple one word answer. :flower3:

I decided the best thing to do was to expand to a country/state list!:woohoo:

Hi Cruisemates! In a little panic here...

I am wanting to add 2 more people to my reservation (and an additional stateroom) and I just looked on the DCL website...and it wouldn't let me select first dinner seating! :scared: Oh no! We have 1st seating but my in-laws would have second! Of course we can't dine separately and I do NOT want late seating! What's the chance first seating will open up? I think my TA is on vacation...I've left a couple of messages. This could really put a damper in my cruise plans.:sad1:
