Hi Everyone!

I am still here.. It has been crazy with my DD cheerleading competitions the past few months. Hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome back! Just 17 months to go!!:cool1:

I totally admire single parents, I'm not sure how they keep their sanity... John was gone all weekend and left this morning for Chicago. The kids schedules are insane this week. Everything is scheduled at the same time... I'm exhausted and the bulk of the scheduling is yet to come this week...

Both kids qualified for the district science fair. dd10, Maggie's project at the elementary level is judged just on the display. dd13, Mike, at the secondary level is defending his project in front of the judges this afternoon, I think he was more excited to get out of an afternoon of school, than the over honor of qualifying :rotfl: He will finish sometime between 4:30-6:00. Maggie has lacrosse practice from 6:30-8:30. Mike has basketball practice 7:30-9:00...

whew, Tonight is the easy schedule...
:grouphug: All I can say is........our last DD is graduating and WE ACTUALLY MISS THE OLD SCHEDULE!:confused3

Wow been gone only a couple of days and i feel i missed a whole bunch!!
Welcome Disneymagic i look forward to meeting you.
Lucy How is your arm and I hope you are feeling well:hug:
Ahh MickeyMo Am so sorry your schedule stinks right now. I know how you feel. i feel torn in two places and then when my DH goes out of town it is HE..um really difficult!! And the worst part about DSMike not getting out of basketball untill 9 is that 5 o'clock somewhere was postponned by 4 hours!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: You poor thing!! I hope the weekend was a good recovery for you and that DH stays home for a while now ;).

I hope all of you had a most excellent long weekend ( or more for those of you in WDW - whatever!! hehe)

Well, I must say the long weekend was WAY better than today was!!:goodvibes

Ok, so who's getting snow tomorrow???:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

well since it hasn't snowed here since 1974 I guess we are out of luck lol:goodvibes

Hey My DD made the musical at the high school ( I am not allowed to say high school musical lol). It is all very exciting!!

DS13 got braces on today and he is hating life right now   :headache: :headache: :headache:
I feel bad for him since I wore braces for 8 years :scared1: :scared1:
but on the bright side (i think) since the cruise is (sigh) 17 months away you all will meet him and DD without them!!

I hope you all have a great weekend and that everyone is doing well :)

When I went to bed we were supposed to get 1-3 inches. Now it says 4-7 and changing over to freezing rain and sleet this afternoon. There is already about an inch on the ground. DH has to drive home from Washington in this today. I'm not planning on seeing him until tomorrow (I don't think he'll make it).

AdventureBlondeBoy - I remember 1974 (I graduated High School then). I also wore braces but they are so different now. I was in pain everytime they were tightened. I think Matt only needed Tylenol once or twice when his braces were adjusted. He's down to a retainer now only when he sleeps.

As I look out on the snow I can only think - WHY CAN'T I BE IN CASTAWAY CAY NOW!!!!!

Every school, even the universities, in this area CLOSED...of course my husband had to be at work by 6 AM (shopping mall-manager at JCPenney) - you know, people must shop! For the first time in our 24 yrs. marriage, he scared me and said he did spin-out on the way to work (the mall is about 30 minutes from our house):scared1: ....I can only imagine what it is going to be like on the way home for him at 3 p.m. (ice and sleet and freezing rain predicted).:scared1:
Today was my appt. to get my bandages removed from the surgery, I was quite anxious for this appt. but it 'ain't gonna happen'.....:sad2:

Adventure Blond Boy: I know the excitement for the musical....my DH directs our high school musical and each of our boys was, of course, in the musical (they both had the comedy roles....believe me, they are great actors because living with them is NO comedy:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ) My DH did a fantastic job with Beauty and the Beast and AIDA....those were the highest attended shows in our high school's history...what show are you doing?
Braces: yep, Tyler is on the countdown for getting them removed, and of course they keep delaying it, can't wait!:woohoo:

Waiting to hear from "California" and "Texas" on their weather today.

I'm also wishing I was in Castaway Cay - heck, I would settle for WDW:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Houston weather today? Wet this a.m. and clearing by this afternoon and should be a pretty nice weekend. Temps in the upper 60s...

It's been awhile since it snowed here - 2002 or 2003 it snowed on Christmas Eve. It was gone by Christmas Day, but it was beautiful for Christmas Eve services.

I'm being lazy typing on the lap top, still in bed, the only problem is that our 50lb "bagle" - a basset beagle mix decided she's a lap dog. I've typed this post twice.

School was "canceled" for dd10 yesterday - she woke up not feeling well. No temps, just feeling blah... I need to see how she's doing this a.m.

i hate to admit it but i'm also being lazy - typing on the laptop while being lazy on the sofa....I WAS watching the morning shows until my 15 yr. old decided to get up already, too excited there is NO school.....there goes my lazy morning...he is NOW asking for breakfast!
Now we have TWO days added on to the end of the year and I don't think this winter weather is over yet. :scared1:
Anyone else relaxing this morning and feel like chatting?:confused3

Well I've already been out to shovel twice and it looks like I'll be going out again in around 15 minutes or so. Must be at least 5 inches now. I have to keep ahead of it before it changes over to sleet. Matt finally got up and he helped (a little).

I'm off to work this a.m. or else I'd love to chat. Yesterday was my lazy day - I couldn't clean upstairs because Maggie was upstairs trying to sleep. I went through about 5 movies, clearing space off the DVR. My family will be happy because there are less black and white classics and musicals to subject them too...:lmao:

Hello all! YES, we're off today, our first snow day!!! I have to do something soon, but watching movies all day sounds good to me! I have a weekend course so this day couldn't come at a better time!!:thumbsup2 The snow is really pretty around here, I only like Winter when there's snow! They've changed our forecast from 1-3 to 2-4...it's still snowing so far and everything's closed around here too!:dance3:

Congrats to the HS play accomplishment, my oldest DD is the only one who used to do that.......very cool!! :thumbsup2

There's supposed to be alot of rain down south so I'm not sure how WDW would be today...........:confused3

Be back later!!:laundy:

Weather in Ca? rain this morning and clear and sunny now but a huge storm is hitting tomorrow afternoon. it is supposed to dump 3 inches of rain and our annual is 12. Beware all you east coasters this may hit you in a week and you may be out of school again.:thumbsup2
I hope and pray that everyone driving around out there made it safe and sound back home tonight (without any more spinning things!!)

DD is in the play "I love you, You're perfect. Now change" and i am told they are going to change it up a bit which i am thankful for cuz it would be sad if I couldn't take DS9 (who is 8 now) to see his sister singing a duet on stage. what is up with this play choice anyway:confused3

and hope you all had a nice relaxing lap top in bed and sofa kinda day:happytv:

Thank you and congrats again on the play........there is nothing like seeing your child be successful!!!:dance3: Our spring break is very early this year in just 3 weeks........hopefully once we hit that all this crazy weather will be over!:cloud9:

Told my DH about that play and he was really surprised a high school would do that show....good luck with it.

My 15 yr. old went to a friend's house to sleep over (with many other guys...thank goodness the parents have a HUGE house and don't mind these guys sleeping over all the time) - my husband took him when he got home from work....this afternoon the roads were clear but now, 8:15 p.m., everything is a sheet of ice outside.

My laptop morning only lasted for a short period of time till the 15 yr. old got up....then he had to force himself to go out and shovel snow (he wants to join the football team next year - yea, JoAnn, I don't wanna talk about it), SO, why was shoveling snow so hard and he wants to play football:confused3 :confused3 :rotfl2: He didn't do a great job until his dad came home and told him he wouldn't drive him to his friend's house till the driveway was nice and clean - BOY, did that kid MOVE:banana: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Today i made a cherry crumb pie, a "fake" cheesecake, brownies (are you getting the picture I LOVE to bake...even if I'm temporarily handicapped) and then a made a nice supper. Our 21 yr. old is home and there is going to be WAR if he even thinks of leaving the house in this weather:furious: :furious:

Tonight I'm dreaming of::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :mickeybar (ALWAYS dreaming of Mickey Bars), :beach: :boat:

Well ever since I booked the 7/27........all I can think about is.....CC......anyone want to sail alittle early!!!:thumbsup2

wow i am surprized anyone has even heard of this musical but they are toning it down to make it more appropriate ;) at least i hope they do

I'm pretty sure that musical was on broadway a few years ago. I didn't get to see it though. We are going the end of March to see "Young Frankenstein". That's one of my favorite movies.

What is it with 15 year olds and shoveling snow. I had the same problem with DS. WE had a huge fight but I think I finally got through to him because he actually went out a few times without me telling him.

Joann - I would so be on that cruise with you but DH wants to go out to CA to visit MIL (why? she's coming here next month). Probably around the 4th of July.

We had another dusting of snow over night. Looks like a total of about 7 inches. Hopefully that's it for the winter.
