This scared the begeeezes out of me! Thank goodness we are getting there 3 days early! Of course, we still have to get from the land of mouse to the ship of mouse on Saturday morning...:scared:

When we were in WDW in Feb. we stopped in at the cruise line desk in SSR to ask about the procedure of getting to Pt. Canaveral. It really seemed very easy and painless. Our luggage had to be ready by 8AM Sat. AM. They would pick it up and the next time we'll see it is in our stateroom. The DCL bus will pick us up about noon at SSR, so we'll basically have the morning free.

If your using DCL transport from SSR to the port can you leave your car there or what do you do with it? We have thought about this as an option but I also like getting to the port early. I want on the ship ASAP.

not being able to read 'my' boards....what a LONG day!:scared1:

Hate to tell 'ya JoAnn #2, but as I'm reading this thread, I'm eating pan pizza from Pizza Hut - usually I get thin cruise (because it is better for you) but tonight, since I had no DIS boards to read and I was sad) - I went for the pan pizza!!!!! New Hannah Montana show on tonight....JoAnn, do your girls EVER get to see Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers?:love:

Well I side stepped dh about the hotel in Milwaukee. I spoke with our niece who is coming with us for the WDW portion of our trip with her 2 kids. She was all for going over the night before and getting an extra hour of sleep. So I told dh that we both wanted to do and even if it was $175 (quoted in Oct), that was less then $10 more then parking at the airport. So I called the hotel right across the street from the airport, it's a Clarion. OMG, it was only $99 for the park and fly! I booked and then called the niece so she could get it also. So staying the night before is actually cheaper then parking at the airport. :cool1:

noahsmom - I just read this over on the Disney cruise line forum board:
(i think you better show this to your husband!):scared1:

We were in Virginia beach and saw an RCL ship leaving dock approximately 5:00pm. We saw several families run up to the terminal at about 4:05. They had to board by 4:00. They were turned away. One family had driven from New Jersy and said they had some car trouble earlier. I don't know if that was true but I could have cried watching those people turn around with their luggage. One of the RCL crew told us this happens all the time This is my worst nightmare. We always get there the day before. I'm just curious if any of you all have seen this happen when boarding DCL?

good night:grouphug:

No worries about this happening to us, we are flying out on July 11th, spending time at WDW before we go to Port Canaveral. We'll be in Port Canaveral on July 16th so we can go to KSC on Friday before the cruise. We got on the 1st shuttle from the Radisson, we will be on the ship long before it leaves the dock! I just didn't want to have to wake up at 2 am to drive to Milwaukee :scared1:

Very cool!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

sounds like a GRAND partyparty: party: party:

Sorry i haven't chatted in a day (A DAY, is that it?!:lmao: :lmao:)
Having some rough days at the senior high school - cafeteria duty and they are tearing me apart....i have two more days of it. I just can't believe the way kids treat adults!:sad2: :sad2: When I went to high school, in the old days (as my kids tell me:rotfl2: ) - we were afraid of adults! :scared1: We FEARED anyone in charge:scared1: ....NOT these kids. I have three lunch periods and till I get out of there, I'm shaking (in anger) - i do have a teacher with me, each period, but they don't respect them either. We live in the 'country' - not a city school, we are NOT supposed to have kids like this!:sad1: :sad1:

Then tonight I was supposed to go out with a girlfriend I haven't seen in over a year....then she backed out of our dinner. Not one of my best days, but I did see our 'tickers' are under 4 months!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I feel your pain. This is why I haven't been online in about a week. Five new students have been added to our morning class (I team teach) and they are 17-19 years old. :scared1:One student is there because he is court ordered. It's either me or jail. The first day out he said this was hard work and he might consider jail instead. Works for me. He doesn't work at all, just 4 hours of complaining. Talk about your lost kids. The past week has tested every last nerve I have. My classroom was so calm and supportive of each other, now that has all gone. I can't believe how rude, lazy, way behind skillwise, etc. Usually you just wait it out, they give up and never return. I hope I can out last them. I just don't get them or their parents?:confused3 A kid has been out of school since 9th grade, he is now 17, and returning to get a GED. What has he been doing all those empty years? I won't go into all the other sorted details but it has been very difficult lately.

On the other hand, I finally started planning our fall anniversary trip. I got my first pin and 40% off the hotel. Yippee.... I just don't know if I can go to WDW without the children even when they would be 14 and 16. They keep telling me to go and have a great time. I just don't know? I keep thinking how much fun they would have doing this or that. On the other hand it is different planning an adult trip. I wanted to go during the Food and Wine Festival and some things they wouldn't be old enough to do anyway.

Going to try and catch up on the 10 pages I've missed. I hope everyone is well and happily planning. TTFN.............

This is why we always fly in the day before. Once we were flying to WDW on spring break because the high school band was marching at the MK (before DS was in high school). We had a freakish hot spell in April of about 4 or 5 90 degree days. We were leaving Friday after school (around 4:00). Well that was when the hot spell decided to break with violent thunderstorms. Our flight was cancelled. The only thing we could do was get a cab to the train station, take a train to Philly and get on a flight the next mornng to Melbourne. We didn't arrive at WDW until 1:00 pm the next day AND we missed the band.

I know how you feel. A couple of years ago I went to WDW for a conference. I just couldn't bring myself to go to the parks. A bunch of people went but I couldn't do it. DH laughed at me but I said it just didn't feel right. I went to DTD instead.

The girls like Hannah Montana. We get a few shows via satellite. Right now they are watching The Suite Life of Zach and Cody.

I do have to say that since the upgrade the boards seem VERY slow. :confused3 I thought upgrades were supposed to make things better...

I don't know what they upgraded - but I'm not seeing any improved performance! I have been refreshing my subscription page to see if anyone else was posting and nothing! Come back to the thread and see that Noahsmom is posting!

Plus, I tried to search and didn't get any responses, so I changed the search a little to try again - I then got an error message that said "you may only run a search every 800 seconds."

WHAT?????:confused3

OK, how do you use the search function. It simply won't work for me. I put in the word "formal" and got one result - OUR CRUISE MEET THREAD!!!!

Obviously I know that there are more threads on the Cruise forum that have the word "formal" in them!!!!

GRRRR

When I've typed something in the search field it always takes me to another search page where I have to re-enter the information. but that was before the update.

Hi everyone! I'm not sure what they upgraded on this board but it seems to be running much much slower. We are having a bit of beautiful weather I know it won't last but I'm enjoying it while it is here. Hope everyone is having a good day.
