At 6:45 this morning, my 6 year old's first words were, "Mommy, we have 14 more days until the cruise."

I said something similiar to my husband... "honey, go open the verandah door!!"

I know... these last two weeks better FLY by!! They will be busy with packing, basketball camp for my DS, dentist appts (yuck - hate the dentist) and oh yeah... still have to work!!

Since all of our gifts are the same (not cabin/family/person-specific) we didn't put "To: __________" but we did say a little something and then signed my screen name and our "real" first names.

Every year the Charlotte Knights which is the Chicago White Sox AAA team plays at home on the 4th and they have a big fireworks display. We watch the show at our house because it's so close. When we moved here 11 years ago it was Easter weekend and they had fireworks both that Friday and Saturday. DD was only 4 at the time and she asked if there would be fireworks every night.

It's nice that you can watch the fireworksd from your house.. Our staduium is on the water right next to the Staten Island Ferry terminal with a beautiful of the Manhattan skyline. I wish we were close enough to see them from our house.

Does anyone know why they cancelled the Baths excursion? I'm reading the thread about the excursions on Tortola and am starting to get worried. Folks on the recent Dolphin excursions said that there was a strange algae in the water that caused very itchy rashes if you came contact with it.

So I'm wondering what's going on with the excursions in Tortola???

I spoke to DCL because we were booked on that excursion. They told me the tour operator was no longer offering it. We're now booked the Tour to Virgin Gorda.

OK... looks like more pages than I have time to read... once again been super busy so heres a quick recap of the last couple weeks:

WARNING: depressing content

-Went 'mountain biking' weekend before last
-Dislocated my shoulder later that day while swimming. (lots of pain and choice words)
-Went SCUBA diving the next Thursday (horrible visibility and pretty disappointing but good to get back in the water)
-This past weekend was two full 8 hour days of Search and Rescue training learning how to fill out paperwork.
-Had an all hands meeting at work to find out that there are layoffs coming up in October and sounds like its not good to be the 'new guy' in the group
-Went to the doctor that afternoon all bummed out to fill out 45 minutes worth of paperwork, got an xray, and saw the doctor just long enough to say "hmm, your shoulder is a little sloppy, theres a lot of play in there that shouldnt be, I'd like to get you an MRI"
-Today the MRI people called me and called it something else... I asked what the difference was and they said the difference is for the shoulder specific one they have to inject stuff directly into the joint...


Quick recap: lots of pain, might lose my job, doctor told me my shoulder is messed up, now I get to look forward to getting stabbed in the shoulder and stuffed in a little tube... and who knows what that will reveal or how much it will cost... Better get it all taken care of while I still have a job with decent insurance.






On the lighter side, I got to go SCUBA diving and I'll be heading home for a 3 day weekend in a little over 2 hours. Trying to stay positive but boy do I need a vacation...

Hey Starwood! I was just looking at the FE list closely. Didn't realize that we are neighbors!!!! I hope the girls don't keep you all up at night!

And we have 5 cabins out of 8 in a row in our hallway! This should simplify the FE exchange a little!

What deck on you on? We have 5 cabins on deck 5( 5124-5130).

I really wanted to do the FE but I just didn't have the time to pull it all together.

Happy 4th of July everybody!

Our garage looks like a storage room for wal-mart and target. Matt's outside grilling sausages for lunch and later we will have steaks and crab cakes and then walk up to the lake for fireworks and maybe a frozen drink or two. Have a great day everyone!

My DD and I finished our FE's last night....since they are the same for all the kids, we just put our names on the bags....thanks to everyone for participating. There was more participation on this cruise than last years Disney's cruise...we love it!

Feeling left out because we're not doing FEs. Initially, I was going to but then life got so hectic and I ended up working this summer so I knew it would ended be a stressor for me. Maybe I'll see you all around anyway.
