Maggie enjoys the Wii fit step program, so I took her to the Y for the 30 minute beginning step class. I got dropped by my 12 year old! :lmao:She did awesome! It's been years since I've been in a step class. My cardio was fine, my coordination was not. In my defense, it was not the regular instructor who is a good friend of mine, this substitute taught more complicated a combination of steps than what the class was used to.

Maggie now wants to go to exer-jazz and Zumba! :scared1: I think it's my turn to pick - let's do a spin class - less obvious when you are lacking in the coordination department!

A launch when we're there would be neat, but would you and Kristen get roped into working the launch?

I wont be required to work it, and I would hope Kristin could find someone else to take over her task. She is supposed to be the 'lead' from her group for sts-127, but there are other people that could do it, so I'm pretty sure the cruise will win.

We are getting to the Raddison on the 16th and going to KSC on the 17th!!!

Really?! That's great. Did you know the Radisson has a room rate that includes 2 tickets and a shuttle? That's what we are doing since we won't have any other transportation.

Good Morning everyone!!!

OK - I am kicking it in gear. I went to Joanns and bought all the FE stuff, and now I just need to make it. That will be this weekend.

Also - don;t know if anyone is interested, but I took the FE list from the first page and made a spreadsheet. If anyone wants a copy, I can email it. Just PM you email to me. I will wait until cutoff, and will update it as things change.

I put in columns for the cabin #, state, adults w/ names, kids w.names and # of adults and # of kids.

That's the format I have for my master FE list, I copy & paste into the 1st post when I update. A number of people have IM'd me for copies, which I've sent, and will send an update after July 1st. I was also planning on bring copies with in case anyone wanted one.

Just an FYI so people don't get confused. :)

Great minds must think alike. Maybe we can compare lists before its all over!!!:rotfl:

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about this new job. The new center needs a lot of work but I love a challenge.

I'm really the only one in my family who enjoys the FE exchange but mom, and Matt help me with it w/out complaining.

27 days until we leave! :cool1: I'm ready to go!

Lissa

Day 2 of summer school done.....

Tomorrow, they start learning how to use the great things in 2007 word to do research papers should take them a few days to get through the assignments they are getting tomorrow....

So far in two days they have had 2 quizzes and 2 tests, and I have just put a total of 10 grades into the grade book - progress reports go home next Wednesday.

Congrats Lissa!!! It was well deserved, I'm sure. :teacher:

Happy belated B'days, Monica and John!!!

Can you believe we are less than one month??????? I could sure use those warm trade winds about now. It feels like fall in NY!!!! :confused3

Miss Mermaids Tortola Post for today:

907am and the current done mash up (no power, no elec-tricky). My batt-tree will die soon, maybe I will get one before the next hurricane or himmacane. Hoping da current come back before I fire up the generator. Ha!

A brilliant day with bright blue skies and white puffy clouds with a few gray ones thrown in. We had our early morning heavy dew (light rain). Might get some more vertical moisture, but only for a quickie, as the outdoor cats are indoors, even though the front door is propped wide open. The fat lazy one scowled at me, when the current mash up, because the fan he was laying under went off. The two brothers, both slim, trim and fit, were out all night doing heaven knows what and look positively exhausted today, collapsed a few feet apart in matching chairs. I recently sewed up some new covers for the chair cushions and that signaled the cats that this was done especially for their comfort and personal enjoyment. They've staked them out as "theirs" and it's the new favored napping spot. They are particular too, the black one gets the right chair and the tabby gets the left one and no switching about.

Like the old saying goes: Dogs have owners, Cats have servants.

Hey! Good news! 919am and da current done come back. Oh goody cause my gas can is still up the hill in the heap of a jeep. (I'm feeling lazy, sitting here with coffee and eyes propped open with toothpicks). By the way for those that wrote asking about my generator setup, I put together a list of what you need and where to buy it; portable power for under $650.

I try to remember to save my email throughout the writing so it doesn't get eaten by the cyber monsters. I reinstalled AOL and that seemed to eliminate the jumbys (Caribbean ghosts & spirits).

82 degrees, moderate winds, perfect for sailing, diving, watersports. Captain Roy took a private group out on snorkel adventures today and the water is PERFECT for that, very clear today, can probably see see the bottom down to 30-40 feet.

I was just going to sign off, but first a large bird crashed into the window screen and seemingly knocked himself out, in the garden. The cats have sprung to life and one is clinging to the inside of the screen looking for that bird. A flutter of feathers, and the bird rights himself and flies out of the garden. All 3 cats return to their snoozing spots.

OK, life can't get any stranger can it? About a minute later, the rooster comes inside and is sitting on top of the sofa seatback cushion! I didn't seem him fly in, just heard a noise, looked up and there is the rooster sitting on the sofa. I'm laughing, because the cats are merely watching him with bored interest. This rooster, that has adopted us, stalks the yard all day for tidbits, so I toss him something now and then. Although the cats avidly hunt, they look at the rooster as a pet and let him live here in peace.

Go figure.

That has GOT to be a wacky country!!!

OK I can not even imagine a situation in which i would be OK with a rooster sitting on my sofa. Tortola has got to be one strange place.

Today was an interesting day. Spent the morning with my kids split between two classrooms due to a tornado warning. Lots of fun and not so amusing things went on during those two hours. Then to finish the day we had a fire drill during nap. Not fun! Our administrator redeemed himself though by having teenagers come in and spend the afternoon playing with the kids.

WTG!!! I had to take DH to work because we are picking him up at 2:00 to leave for Cincinnati.

Big weekend there.......tomorrow we have been invited up into the radio booth to visit during the game with the broadcasters!

They are having the "Civil Rights Game" and luncheon in town. We stay at the hotel that is connected to the convention center. In town for the game/luncheon are Bill Clnton, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Bill Cosby, among others. I hope we "run into" someone. I'd love to meet Bill Cosby!

Have a great day!

Sounds like fun. He comes to MD once a year to do a benefit and it seems like we always miss him (Bill Cosby). If you see him tell him Susan says 'Hi'! :rotfl::rotfl:

I was going to ask my DD24 to possibly make us a ship FE list(with rooms highlighted).........I'll see if she'll do it and then we can use that........:woohoo:

PLEASE DD.....Tara....a list:worship::worship::worship::hug::hug:

Oh - like one with deck plans? That would be awesome!!!!! I would love it.

So, I guess we should wait to put the FE gifts out until at least Sunday, in case anyone upgrades at port? WIll that work? That way we can get word out to most of the group.

Who has been to the Kennedy Space Center? Any tips for me? We are staying at the Radisson, they have a KSC package (2 tickets plus transportation). We still need to get a ticket for Noah. Do we pre-purchase or wait until we arrive?

We are planning on going the day we get off the cruise. I haven't purchased tickets yet. On our last cruise we went straight from the port to Magic Kingdom and we still didn't have our land legs back yet. I was more nauseated on land than on the ship with a hurricane!! I didn't want to have to do something if we weren't feeling up to it. We are also stayng at the Radisson!

Anybody know what the West Texas Intermediate Fuel price closed at today? (June 17)?

When we booked we paid the fuel surcharge and the only way we'll get it back is if the price is below $70 a barrel today. I was watching the general crude oil prices and it was around $70.46 -

If it's below 70, I'll get my fuel surcharge credited as an onboard credit. $154!!!! If not - they take it all!

Not cool.:scared1: I am extremely afraid of birds. :confused3I saw a lot of them in that one DISer's pictures too. I'm getting nervous. Maybe I should drink a painkiller or two to get through all of this.

Lissa

I had one of those days too. I had less than 5 mintues to go in cleaning up our snack table and fire alarm went off also. We didn't think it was real, but since the test was the day before we had to of course treat it like a real fire. Went outside in the rain and waited. A fire engine, looked at us, and drove by. After several minutes someone called the fire dept. to see if they were coming to check out the building. They never received the signal. [I feel safe.]This took 40 mintues.

For my morning class, today is the last day until mid Sept. I need a break from this class. I will teach one night a week through the summer but it doesn't require me to prep, I just show up. It is run like a tutorial. And it is usually light in the summer so I can surf the net or read. Not a bad gig.
