whata great picture! we are having a garage sale today. anyone want any stuff?

this has been a busy morning on the boards! I can barely keep up.

dh and I have been trying to walk for 45 mins a day. he's losing the weight. not me. :(

My DDs are looking forward to going trout fishing in the mountains outside Denver when we visit their great-grandmother this summer. I hope we can get up there - there's a great trout farm where the kids can fish and are guaranteed to catch something. My dad insists that that takes all the fun out of fishing - but until my 5 & 7 year olds can actually sit still for more than 15 minutes at a time - it's probably the best way to go.

I'm jealous of your night on the town! How great!!!!

Two girls have sleep overs tonight - but the baby is all ours - so no night out. :sad1:

BTW - we have main seating, but not sure your DS would enjoy dinner with three "baby" girls :scared:. :confused3

Fishing in the mountains sounds wonderful. We only have lakes, rivers and streams here with rolling hills. The place where Noah's camp is located is in southwestern Wisconsin, part of the driftless area. Very beautiful area.

On our last cruise we sat with a family that only had little girls. I don't think we've ever been seated with boys. We enjoy meeting other families and hearing about their adventures.

Great picture with the capital in the background.......just think, a few months ago we were freezing with inclement weather and now the trip is around the corner.............I've started packing.......anyone else??:goodvibes

Started packing......:rotfl: I haven't even changed the closets over from winter to just summer/spring. Last week I have of school, only 4 morning left, then I can join my kids who are already off.

On Sat., we spent several hours at the scout Strawberry Festival. They did great. A fun time as always. Then I spent the evening in the kitchen. Five long hours. I made the Alex's hot milk cake with buttercream frosting and Alli's choc. cake with choc. icing. I made a single layer cake and turned the rest of the batter into mini cupcakes.....close to a 100 of them. It just takes a long time. I now have three 13 x 9 inch pans full of mini cupcakes. I told the kids I would take the rest to work on Monday. You would have thought I told them I was going to WDW/DCL without them.

Today, I finished the laundry and now I need to make potato salad. I'm only making 5 lbs. though. Then we have that scout pool party tonight that we are hosting. The last event before they leave for the 2 weeks in New Mexico. It is going to be a long 2 weeks.

Joann, sorry about your loss. :grouphug: I know how you feel. On Wed. night, we lost a friend that was close to my DH's family. It was the guy that lead my DH's group to New Mexico for the same trip my DH is going on this summer about 30 years ago. I know they were looking forward to trading stories when he got back from the trip.

And congrats to all the good grades/reports cards of fellow cruisers. We still have to wait about 2 weeks before my kids get there grades. I'm just glad it's over and only have the summer reading to do. Although my DD will start soccer training on Monday night for high school soccer try outs 9 weeks away. Is there ever any real down time?

BTW.....love the fishing picture. If my DS could, he'd fish every day!

There is no new info. on the second brunch. We should be hearing soon. I just hope it isn't on Monday AM. Castaway Club party is held then. I want to do it all!

Not packing yet but have spent the afternoon gathering stuff for FE's and working on door signs. I realized as I was putting stuff together it is going to take me forever to deliver. I wanted to make sure there was something for everyone in the bag so each stateroom has a particular bag. I wish i could start packing but if i did mom and Matt might kill me 'cause we would spend the next 29 days walking around suitcases.

Wow!!! :worship:

Our air conditioner for the house just died on us. It's Sunday 87 outside and no air no breeze either. Now I've got to go get some fans so we don't melt before we can get it fixed.

I feel your pain. We had that happen 2 years ago and it took forver for the new one to show up. We ended up getting a room air conditioner for the bedroom, and then we all slept in the same room. It was just like camping or being on vacation together.

You can bring candy on board but when you disembark you cannot take any open packages of food with you. It must be thrown out.

Dropped Mike off in Galveston at Texas A&M. We had a nice early dinner at a restaurant next to Carnival's terminal and watched the Conquest sail out. It was tempting to climb aboard!

OK so we've got around 20 fans going in this house. It sounds like being on one of those little prop planes. I'm glad I get to escape in the morning and go to work.

Quick question does anybody have any food allergies? We are putting some goodies in our bags and i want to make sure I'm not giving anyone anything to could make them sick.

Lissa

Lissa, no food allergies here. thanks for the info too!! I'll have to do some research on the smokey mountains. I'm so focused on the cruise!

we made about $175 on the garage sale. Cruise money!

oh I really don't want to go to work tomorrow.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO don't so it....

you'll soon be wanting to swim home!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh.... The conquest (which leaves on a Sunday out of Galveston) was the WORST cruise I have ever been on..... If it had been my first cruise I would never ever cruise again. DD and I got an AFT balcony room for 7 days for well under $1000, and well, when they say you get what you paid for... I loved the room location and the room itself, and the neighbors next door to us, but that is where it stopped.

I hear the RCCL out of Galveston is supposed to be good - I might try that some day....
