Lucy..........my newspaper had information about the upcoming Kutztown Folk Festival and I thought of you. Have you ever gone?

I have never been, but I know it is a "social event" which means Lucy is the MAYOR!!!

yes, any social event in Kutztown, which is far and few, I am there.

actually, I am working at the festival on the weekends, at a jewelry stand. I met this woman last year, from Alabama, absolutely LOVE her, and I help protect her jewelry (with my eyes) on the busy days. AND, we both have one thing in common - WE BOTH LOVE TO TALK!!!!!!
I have grown up with the festival and still love it.

JoAnn #1: we have no other brunch ressies...only the ones with the group.
It will just be Bob and me. Anxious to hear and thanks for taking care of this. Because i'm old and forgetful, what day was this?

Ha Ha - that's funny, the Kutztown festival was in our papers too! It looked fun!

Worked on the FE, but not yet done, so no pics. Got some FE gifts and cruise stuff. Off to Poconos on Wednesday. No wireless, so I will miss you all.

One of my favorite things at the brunch was the pizza with blue cheese and grapes All the others in my party made fun of me but than after they tasted it I had to fight to get any. Try it you'll like it

We had some sad news. My DSIL died yesterday from brain cancer. DB is devastated. The wake is Tues. and the funeral on Wed. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. They were married 44 yrs.

Guess what our weather is here on LI today? RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. What a surprise. Even the Long Island ducks are sick of it! This cruise can't come fast enough.........................

My DD16 is packing to go to camp also. This is at the University of Texas in Austin. It is called First Bytes

It is a one-week residential camp program for high school girls. It is designed to dispel myths about computer science and intrigue young women with the potential of computing and the excitement of problem solving.

They only accept 50 sophomore and junior level girls (that live in Texas) each year - and this year my DD was one of only 4 sophomore girls selected to attend.

It is completely paid for by grants and corporations, and hopefully shows these girls what a career in computer science might be like for them.

My DD is so confused as to whether to look at CS or Engineering - all she knows is that she loves math and science, and wants to do something with both of them. I'm hoping this week will at least give her an idea of what the CS side might look like.

Today is the day that we're meeting my dad's long lost sister......that we didn't know about until a year ago.........what's everyone else doing?

Congratulations. what a great opportunity. My son started as a computer science major . He didn't like it and switched sophomore year to software engineering which he absolutely loves. He's going to be a senior but he'll probably have to go an extra year to get all the engineering credits completed. Ths should definitely help you daughter decide what she might like to do.

All this talk of rain.... its been over 90 for almost 2 weeks now, no rain in sight. High humidity, high temps, and no rain means our garden is going down hill fast... we might lose most of it

Wish we could send you some rain. The weeds are growing wild and everything is so muddy. At this time of year we are usually heading into a drought, no mention of that around here lately.
