Yes, you are right, can use ATM well. When I was in Salou, Spain and I used ATM during out EUROS.

I am trying to think what best way to do but I think use ATM as I am not bringing lot euro with me as Barcelona seem high crime so don't want take lots of euros.

Love the door sign . I will maybe use it if that is ok. I will have to get my DD to make ours as I am not very good at that sort of thing. I am sure there will be other door signs. We did not know about them on our last cruise and wondered what they were and why they were there. When we found out we thought they were great and wished we had done them as well. So we will definately be doing them this time (if DD can make them).

It must be disappointing not having received your Med Pack but having looked at the Med Pack we received and the Disney Cruise Web site there is more info on the excursions on the web site than in the pack so you would be better off looking on the web site to make your decisions.

We did not know about them on our last cruise and wondered what they were and why they were there. When we found out we thought they were great and wished we had done them as well.

I believe one of the reasons many people do not do them is because of safety. As much as we love to believe all things Disney are 100% safe, there are still lots of sickos in the world who need only a tiny bit of information to exploit someone's weaknesses. Those weaknesses may be as simple as reading here which excursions someone is going on, then looking for their door sign knowing they're gone for 8 hours that day.

I do not guard my online info nearly as close as many do, but I understand the risks I am taking. I love the idea of door signs (though I choose not to use them) and love to see them on other's doors. But, I just want to ensure people consider all the risks before choosing the post them.

Here is some info I requested from Disney re dining and tendering. Just thought I would share it in case anyone else is interested.

Formal Night will be the 2nd night.
Semi Formal Night will be the 9th night.
Pirates of the Carribean night will be the 8th night.

We will tender in La Spezia and Villefranche.

Naples - Mt Vesuvius Hike & Pompeii - 08.30 to 16.00
Cititavecchia - Jumping back to Eternal Rome - 07.45 to 17.45
La Spezia - Lucca Treasure Hunt - 08.00 to 14.00
Villefranche - Create your own perfume - 13.15 to 17.45

Of course these times are subject to change.

Is any one else starting to get excited . I have already started planning my packing and started on my door signs today. I wish we were cruising tomorrow.

I am laughing at you, start planning packing mmm, I glad to hear that as know that I am not only one start planning to packing for the kids.

One case lying in Keith's bedroom as there are kids summer clothes ready apart from sandals and shoes.

I bought lovely clothes for kids, husband.

Me, not yet!! As I should be on diet, oh hard!!

Saw beautiful clothes on Magazine as the clothes are from Debenhams. So will go to Debenham on Thursday and have a look at it!!

I haven't started packing yet, not even a packing list, but I have been thinking about what to bring and what types of clothing I'll need. I do need a few new things for spring anyway, so I'll be getting those in the next week or so with an eye toward functioning on the cruise as well. I have several pairs of pants that are both comfortable and will meet the "knees must be covered" criteria for any church visits we have. Plus they aren't hot like jeans would be and have some "give" in the waist so they'll still fit on day 8 after eating for a week

I'll have to get a couple of pairs of pants for the boys but I will wait until late June to get them as they are growing so much right now.

I have one skirt that I'll likely wear many nights for dinner - just add a different top DH says he doesn't want to dress up every night for dinner - I told him that he's welcome to eat at Topsiders while I go to the dining rooms. I love the whole feeling of elegance in the dining rooms vs. Topsiders - although I know I'll do some Topsiders as well.

I haven't actually started packing but just thinking about what things I will need because my DD has grown out of all her summer clothes so she needs a whole new wardrope full.

We were thinking about doing the Chocolate Factory with dinsey on the Wednesday but I have not decieded as the disney excursion costs $59 per person which includes drink, museum visit, 1 hour of chocolate making & transport. If you do it on your own the museum only costs about 5 euros per person but only gives you a tour of the museum, you don't get to make anything out of chocolate. So I am undecided at the moment .
Although i will have to make up my mind soon as we can book excursions in only 23 days time .

I am still getting even more excited .

I know that feeling after 8 days, I probably swollen up and better bring elastic clothes lol also lovely foods too

My daughter - clothes - I bought new clothes from last year for this Cruise. Think all done for her apart from shoes/sandals.

My son - plenty top but short - wait near the times as he put on the weight and none of short from last year fitted him.

Me i bought new black dress from sales as it was good bargain for formal but still tight need diet

I got exchange money today from Crown Exchange money as got dollars and euros. I order dollars for excursion and didn't realise that use switch or visa. Maybe I email to DCL and find out if we pay dollars for excursions and other can use with visa. I never thought about it as order for 30 days and got it today.

I forgot to say that my husband bought a new camera from his friend. I am so happy with it as it is canon D70s digital SLR camera. Fine for holiday and cruise too.

We got a new camera, too, and I took it with us to WDW last week so I could practice with it as well. It takes really good pictures even in low lighting and without the flash.

Last year when we cruised with disney, yes they did take a credit card for onboard expenses, but I just went to guest services and paid the balance with the dollars and dollar traveller cheques that I still had from our week at AKL, there did not seem to be a problem doing this.

I have bought dollars again this time as the exchange rate is so good at the moment and I intend to pay these towards my on board charges and excursions.

I would have agreed with you that we could book the excursions at 05.01 on the 19th but i have just read another post that says it will be 08.01 so I think I will try the 05.01 first and then see what happens.

Hello Everyone
I'm so excited I found this site. It is great to know that there are other people out there just as excited as I am about going on this cruise. I will be traveling with my mom and brother. Not only will this be our first cruise this is the first time we will have ever been out of the U.S. If anybody has any types they would like to share about cruising we would appreciate them. Especially if anybody has travel tips concern diabetes. I have mastered traveling to WDW with it but going out of the country is another thing.

Lissa - welcome! Glad to have you. This will be my family's 2nd cruise (my 3rd) and our first time going to Europe.

Do you have your cabin assignment yet? Have you thought about excursions?

Regarding dietary needs, I know that DCL is overly-accommodating, so you shouldn't have any worries on the ship. Just let them know of your needs.

Thank you for the welcome. We do not know what room we will be in yet all we know is cat.9. If we could book shore excursions now we would book
The Island of Capri
A walk through renaissance Rome
Florence and Pisa
Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze
Needless to say we had to do alot of compromising to come up with those four as I wanted to do almost all of the excursions.
