July 17th 2005 Magic?

Have you all looked at the thread to Mazatlan Frank?
I think we might just book something with him. He has so many good spots to go to and he seems like a really nice guy. Alot of reviews of him are good. He will customize a tour for us. I'm seeing if the other Make a Wish family might like to go with us. Make a Wish people may not have as much money to spend as others. I know we don't. Too many medical bills. lol (a little bit)

Hi ALL!!!

Doing the DOC :cool1: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :thewave: :dancer: :dancer: :jumping1:   :jumping1::thewave::cool1:

Just picked up the Docs from the travel agent. Have never used a TA before and since DSIL booked this cruise I had never met the TA before. But he was very nice and put everything together in a cute little bag and even included Ginger candy for seasickness :teeth: He gave me a bunch of printed out material (primarily stuff from the net) and some of his own tips.

Now we are just waiting on 2 passports. I know we don't need passports for the cruise but we decided to get them now, since everyone will need them in 2006.

MGM61 - Did you get the PM from me w/ other websites to check out? Mazatlan Frank sounds like a great guide. We didn't book an excursion for Mazatlan but are going to go to a hotel, El Cid. They allow you (cruise ship guests) the use of their pools (pretty nice from what I've heard) for purchasing drinks or food from their hotel. Except for the taxi fare and the cost of drinks it is basically a free excursion. If you read through Mazatlan Frank's thread he has some great info. I'm sure touring with him would be fun.

Cherta & Donnetta - Congrats on the Docs!...Cherta hope DH is going well.

Hope evryone else is healthy and getting as excited as I am :cool1:

Cherta,

So sorry to hear about your husband and I have to say I know how you feel. While I was in the emergency room with my daughter, with a broken hand, I got a call that my husband had been hit by a car while walking in Boston and he was in the emergency room in Boston 40 miles away and no one could give a status over the phone. We taped up my daughter's hand and drove into Boston. The good news is that it was all bruises and no broken bones and he will be as good as new in a few weeks. My daughter only had a broken finger. While this was all happening the cruise was flashing before me and I was afraid we were not going to be able to go either.

I hope all is well now.

DW suprised me tonight when I got home doing a little dance!
Reality is starting to sink in that it is almost time after all this time. :Pinkbounc
I went back and counted through all of our post and did a quick head count. Looks like we have about 33 people, not counting friends and families that were not named. We better call Scoops and order more Ice Cream. Hope I can remember everyones name once we get on. Glad to hear that everyone with medical problems is doing as well as can be expected. Talk to you all soon.
Roger

P.S. Did anyone notice that they have our departure time from LA at 4pm. I do not remember if this is just what they say even though they leave at 5pm.

Hey crew!!! Look what I made....

mynametag_copy.jpg

My DD16 is teaching me Photoshop so I can make a couple of door signs for the cruise. So I started off small and made a name tag. :cool1:

Roger - Congrats on the Docs!!! I also saw 4:00PM, maybe because they want us on board for the lifejacket drill? :confused3

dumontmichael/Karen - Wow you must have been very scared! Glad Hubby and daughter are okay. Maybe we should put all our families under house arrest until cruise time. :earseek:

Hi everyone,

Dumontmichael--oh my gosh!! :earseek: When it rains it pours doesn't it? I'm so glad everyone is okay now (especially your husband; that could have turned out to be a lot worse!) I know what you mean by the cruise flashing before your eyes-I was really sweating bullets because I decided at the last minute not to buy cruise insurance (I know-not the best way to go, but "Hey", I thought, "we're all healthy!" ). DH is doing better; he's driving now and the only thing really bothering him is his throat (from the intubation tube used during surgery). Thanks to all for asking!

Thanks DisneyTart for putting together that list; our group has grown by leaps and bounds! Looking forward to our meet at Scoops!

We're still up in the air regarding the excursions, especially with the earlier departure time. If we do go out, I think we will go to El Cid. I like the idea of being able to: 1) save money and 2) leave when we're ready. I think a tour with Mazatlan Frank would be fun, too. With all that's been going on, though, I just want to grab a lounge chair and relax! :cloud9:

In our cabin which we don't know yet is:
Damon(dad) 50
Virginia (mom)40 something :-P
Amber 22
Krystal 16

We are still waiting to do our docs dance, because Make A Wish hasn't told us our information yet..... HOPEFULLY SOON I REALLY WANNA KNOW ;)

Can't believe it will less than 3 weeks before we leave! I just went to DL on Monday and it was very crowded. We got there at 2:30pm and the next fastpass for Buzz was not until 7:30pm! Needless to say we didn't get on many rides. The kids did participate in the Jr. Chef activity sponsered by Nestle Tollhouse. They take the first 20 kids in line and then make cookies. They put the cookies in an "oven" and after a little pixie dust...wa la...the cookies were magically done! Best part was getting to eat them! This was a good activity to get the kids ready for Oceaneer Club!

Bethany - Love your green Mickey pin! I am a big time scrapbooker so I decided to make my door sign on a 12X12 scrapbook page so when I get home, I will just put in my album. (I'm a part time Creative Memories consultant.) I'm not quite sure how I'm going to magnetically hold it to the door. Thanks for putting the list of all of us together. I'll try to get others in my group to join in on the discussion!

Cherta - glad to hear that DH is doing better. Don't let him out of the house! :)

Hope everyone is staying healthy!

Janice :earsgirl:

We too are Make a Wish family. Amber and I live in adjoining cities!!
Jeff 47 :cool1:
Michele 44 :earboy2:
Matthew 18 pirate:
Lindsay 16 :cheer2:

We are waiting for everything to come in too.
No Docs yet. Don't know our room or anything.
We are booking Frank for our day. We are looking
into going to the Pacifica Brewery then some city sites
and beaching it.
We have 4 going and he likes to have 6 but will do it with 4
but if anybody else would like to do this tour too you can book
with us.
I don't have a price from him yet. Anyone interested PM me.
I know the city and beach tour is like $32 but don't know about
the brewery yet.
The Stone Island Tour was my first choice but with the jelly fish it
wouldn't be any fun. Do we take a chance? or go with Frank's tour?
Michele

Amber & Michele - Thanks for the family updates. I'm editting the original post each time I get more info so if you refresh the page the "new" updated list should come up. Where are guys from? Do you live here on the West Coast? Hope you get your cabin info real soon!

Janice - Funny I can't even get my DBRO to post (though I know he lurks!). He and DSIL are the reason my family is going on this cruise. :rotfl2:
Oh well he's just message board "shy". Good luck with the rest of your group.

Cherie (Goofyonthehighseas DW - Sorry didn't mean to give Roger a new DW :rotfl: , it's fixed now.

~Bethany

Hi everybody - welcome to the new posters! We got our docs yesterday, and my trial is now over, so I can finally get excited! :cool1: Help me out, though - should I take the disney transfers from LAX to the port sunday morning, or arrange my own transportation? I cant seem to get an answer as to when Disney will pick us up. What do you think - we get in at 7 am.

Hi pclaire - Congrats on getting your Docs & for having more free time! I'm not familar w/ how the Disney transfers work. Do they schedule a time to pick you up & do they take you straight to the port (no stopping at hotels in between)? My only thing is that I would want to know for sure when we are being picked up & dropped off. But I'm a bit of a control freak! The airport isn't that far away, DH says maybe 30 - 40 mins and there shouldn't be that much traffic on Sunday morning. Can you hire your own shuttle van or take a taxi?

Disney Tart-----Yes my family is in Bakersfield, California; I am in Visalia, California; and mgm's family is about ten minutes away in Tulare..... Are you here on the west coast too DisneyTart? MAN I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!

Hi Amber - Yep my family is from San Diego, as Southern California as you can get. I've just found it very interesting how many West Coasters are going on all these West Coast cruises. It does make sense... I hope Disney takes notice and sends one of their ships permanently to this coast, even an Alaskan cruise would be neat.

~Bethany

I see your still up. They will see our Calif. dollars are just as good as the Florida ones!!!
You have your docs right? What time does it say we have to be at the ship. On the travelocity site (the only place we found the 6 night cruise)it says depart 4:00pm. Is this still the time?
Thanks
Michele

It says on the DOCS, that the ships leaves at 4:00pm, but most have said it doesn't leave until 5:00PM. Also from what I've seen posted I think the mandatory Life boat drill is at 4:00pm so maybe they just want to make sure we are all on board by then. The DOCS also say that embarkation time is 1:00PM, but the port opens up at 10:30. We will be there 1st thing in the morning. We are staying at the Holiday Inn in San Pedro.

Michele - are you guys driving down on Sunday or staying the night before? :moped:
