July 16, 2016 Disney Fantasy, Eastern Caribbean

We are! Its actually a surprise for the kids and its killing me to keep this to myself! We fly in Thurs the 14th and are staying two nights at art of animation resort. We are going to magic kingdom all day friday, then will take private transfer to the port on Sat morning. I wish the disney bus transfer didnt leave so late as we would take that, but we like to be at port early and board early if possible!

Our first two cruises we didnt do wdw at all... we did a beach day the first and this last one we stayed at the hyatt night before. Both were great but I tell you what, I am so stinking excited about going to MK. Our last trip was 2012 so its been awhile!

And congrats on booking how awesome!!!!

Thanks for replying :) Did you make all of these arrangements on your own or did you use an agent? Also, are park tickets included in your stay or will they be purchased at the entrance?

I have a friend who is a TA who booked our park package which includes the 2 nights at aoa and 1 day tickets. It would have been easy to book online though i just like giving her business. She would have booked the limo for us but I did it myself online. We are using ACE transportation to get to port and just magic express to the resort.

Can you please add me to the fish extender Minnie group? It will be DW (tree nut allergy), DH, and DS(5). We will be staying in cabin 9554. This will be our second DCL trip, our first one last summer. We are now hooked! We are also a DVC family too! Only 110 more days, but who is counting!!

Ok all Minnie group is now full!! let your shopping begin!

110 days is awesome! Remember Ruth when it was well over 400 days when we started this?!

Welcome aboard teacher7grade!! :welcome:

Madzac -- oh my goodness, yes I remember 400+days to wait. I can't believe that in less that 2 weeks, we'll be doing the "double-digit-dance" Yikes -- speaking of double-digits -- I need to get my FE gifts ordered!! :scared1:

Have a great week!!

Couple of questions. Is there usually more than one ship at castaway cay at a time? Also do you feel obligated to do book a port adventure at every port? or is there a port that you should just kick back and relax at?
Another relaxing idea is to check out TripAdvisor ahead of time, decide which beach close to the port fits your style, then just grab a taxi and relax for the day.

Has anyone ever booked a few nights through DVC (David's Vacation Club Rentals)?

I didn't get an email :( what did it say?

I received my email on the 28th. It basically said our "family is going on a cruise!" The basics like your reservation #, cabin #, itinerary, etc. Thank you for joining us on the cruise.....look for future emails to help with planning and the sail date approaches....
That's the gist of mine.

Art of Animation is one of our favorite resorts! Which area are you staying in? We opted for the Beach Club before the cruise this year, but AoA is our usual go-to resort because we love the family suites. I love going to WDW before the cruise! We need the week of relaxation to recover.

We are SO excited!!! We've never even seen art of animation! We are in the finding nemo section. It's definitely a splurge for 2 nights for 6 of us but I can hardly wait. We haven't been since FP+ started so I'm trying to figure out our day. Any advice?

Beach club would be awesome! How long will you be staying?

Art of Animation is a very "Disney" resort, which is one of the things we like about it. The characters throughout the resort are awesome, as are the suites. I loved having two separate living areas and two bathrooms. It will be strange just having one living space at the Beach Club! We will be there for a full week before the cruise. Last time, we did 3 days and it just wasn't long enough. :)

When my kids were little, we would hit MK at rope drop to ride as much as we could. Now that they are older, we sleep in and get to the parks around 9 or 10. With FP+, we are guaranteed 3 rides that we really want to go on, which is great. I usually book my first FP for 10:30 - 11:30 when the lines start getting longer. What you choose really depends on what your kids like. 7DMT really needs a FP because the line gets really long. I think that other good uses for FP+ are Peter Pan, BTMR, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Tomorrowland Speedway (just because of the heat and gas smell when waiting). After you use your 3 fastpasses, you can book a 4th one. Right now, you have to use the kiosks, but the rumor is that you will soon be able to do it on your smartphone. I usually pick the first ride that is listed and then change the FP on my smartphone anyway. It saves me time and I can find more options that way. I really like the new FP+.
