July 15-22 2006 Western Anyone?

It sounds like you can use that margarita now. :)

You would think I would have this packing thing down pack by now since this is our 4th cruise. I have given up at this point!!! I decided it is what it is. I have everything but the kitchen sink.

As for ironing, what is that? I don't do it at home so why should I start. I picked up some Downey wrinkle release and that seems to do the trick. (for suitcase wrinkles)

Don't fret, everything will come together. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Shoot, my husband hasn't even begun to pack. He hasn't even gotten his things together and he's not even stressing one bit. Why can't I be more like that???

LOL! I know what you mean. My problem is that I try to tackle everything on my own. I really wanted to pack for hubby but he said to PLEASE allow him to do it. I said yes with no problem. That will keep me off the hook if something is not in the suitcase. :teeth:

I have given into my OCPD (obsessive compulsive packing disorder). I have called my mother, and I begged her shamelessly to let me borrow a big, huge, suitcase.....or two. Actually I had one packed and went to zip it up, and wouldn't you know it, the zipper is broken. My son asked if I could just tape it up. :rotfl2: Well, I will feel better having the extra suitcases and I won't have to fret about how I am going to fit everything in them coming back. We all know that the stuff never goes back in the suitcases like it did when we first packed them.

I am glad someone else fesses up to not ironing. I do not unless absolutely necessary, but, just to let ya'll know, I am not responsible for my 18 year olds wrinkles. ;)

Well, now that I know I will have another suitcase coming tomorrow, I am going to get everything else together that I can, and then I will just have to wait for DH and that 18 year old to get their things together.

Hi, this is skminnies mom. We are all packed. DD15 is currently at Sea World
Orlando, in an advance career camp program for teens. Will be picking her up at 10:00 am saturday morning, then heading straight for the ship! Just saw on St. Thomas web site, the Magic leaving port. Soon we'll be there!

See you there and have a safe trip.

I think the bus ride is about 45 minutes. :moped: :moped:

You'll be OK - I know it's nice to be there early but boarding isn't until 12 so you'll miss the big crowd in the terminal and you can't get in the staterooms anyway. And hey, you got a free room! :woohoo:
Thanks for the picker-upper!! I just want to make the most of every minute.

We are at the Beach Club Friday night and we are being picked up at 11am. I wonder if it's the same bus that makes the rounds through all the resorts? Ya think? I'll be the one wearing 12 layers of clothes to avoid suitcase #7. :rotfl:
I'm not sure, but I'll look out for the lady with too many clothes! :lmao:

I hope you all can help a person who does not fly often make sense of the regulations.

Southwest says that each person can have one carryon with measurements of 10x16x24 and one personal (purse, camera etc). I have 2 regular carryons plus my purse and a video camera to head to Orlando.

Okay, in my suitcases, I have 2 empty bags. One is like a nice beach bag, which I will use for that while on beaches or onboard, and the other is a AAA zippered bag, almost looking like a big purse. I was going to use these both for souvenirs for on the way back. Can I carry these types of bags on the plane? I thought the kids could tote them around.

Also, I thought about the rum cakes. Can you have them delivered to your house to save lugging them to the airport etc? If not, can I carry a regular shopping bag as a carry on?

I know, a lot of questions for one post, but I am now starting to crack.....thinking of the details now. :rolleyes1

Thanks again for your help.

Since I, for one, will not be here at 2am, have a safe trip!

Lets see if I can help. My mind is going a little crazy but I will try my best.

1. From my experience you can carry any type of bag on the plane just as long it meets the FAA guidelines, meaning size. There is 5 of you so you can have 5 carryons plus a purse, camara bag ect.

2. Rum cakes. Not sure about this one, but I emailed the Tortuga Rum Factory to see if they will ship. I will let you know if they reply before we leave. Just as long as the shopping bag meets the required measurments all should be fine.

I hope this helps and eases your mind a little bit.

I hear you completly. I tackle everthing on my own too. I rarely ask for help and when I do I'm already stressed out that I don't ask in the right way. Then everyone is unhappy. I keep telling my husband how lucky he is to just have to pack for himself. He told me he would pack for the kids but he couldn't guarantee that they would have matching clothes or underwear!! :rotfl2:

We will be at the meet laughing about how stressed we were for nothing. :thumbsup2

Thank you. My husband is cracking up at me right now. I am measuring carryons and he told me that they are not that specific. Just to make sure they are a managable size. I guess I will stop worrying now.

My husband fixed the broken suitcase, so I believe that I can fit everything in what we have. All of us are packed except the 18 yr old , and he has room in 2 different suitcases plus a carryon. I am going to try to go with that.

Nate (my youngest) just came to me and said that he was nervous. He has this cute little nervous thing he does with his hands to his face. It was so sweet. I guess it really is here. :woohoo:

You are so right. Everything always falls into place. I sometimes think I enjoy stress so much that I look for it. :rotfl: Yep, I'm a knucklehead.

Well everyone, I am beat, so I think I will watch some television until I have one eye open.....then to dreamland.

I wish all of you traveling tomorrow a safe and wonderful journey. I look forward to meeting you all at the meet.

I am not sure what we will be wearing, but we will all have the green mickey paint chips as little nametags.

Take care and God bless

It's adorable what the little one's come out with and do. Savannah is so excited. I can't even count how many times today she asked if it was time to go yet. I can see her now giving Mickey a big hug. OK, I'm getting all teary eyed.

As you are nervous about flying, I'm nervous about driving down I-4.(main hwy from Tampa to Orlando) I dread that drive. I'm sure by the time we get to the port I will be so stressed from the drive, I will be doing shots in the parking lot to relax. :rolleyes1

I guess I'm going to to TRY to get some sleep now.

I am doing the last load of laundry and some ironing. Still need to finalize the packing. We have piles of various clothing through out the house. Once we figure out everything we are taking, then we will figure out what suit cases to put it all in.

Since we really don't have a time schedule for tomorrow, we are not stressing too much. We will probably stay just north of Jacksonville tomorrow night.

I think I mentioned that we are replacing our living room rug with hard wood while we are gone. So I need to do some extra cleaning / moving stuff before we go. This is just added to the fun.
