Hi

I am just sitting here today. Saw a McDonalds commercial for POTC stuff And I was thinking I can see the new ride and had a wave of excitment hit me so I decided to share

 :cheer2: :dance3: :dancer: :rockband:

Okay I feel better now

LOL LOL, Yesterday in the car I heard the commercial twice and then all afternoon it was on tv. My hubby wanted to know what we were going to do for dinner so I sent him out to McDonald's for a BIG MAC!!! The kids of course got the happy meals for the POTC toys. What is this cruise doing to me? I would never eat a Big Mac!!!!

Goodmorning everyone!!
Usually when I get my allergy shot I can sleep and sleep and sleep. Well, last night was not the case. We had a violent thunderstorm here last night and my phone wouldn't stop ringing!!!! After all that, I was sure to fall asleep. Nope, I started listing in my mind what I can wear to dinner each night on the cruise!!! What is wrong with me!!!! I think I'm just going to pack my suitcase today and just forget about it till Friday night when we load the car.

:rotfl2: Good luck in doing that. I don't think any of us will be able to "forget about it." I know those lists will keep running through my head.

I just saw on the news that a small passenger plane went down here in Virginia Beach. It crashed in a back yard after taking off from an airport. It turns out that it is one of my son's co worker's house. Thankfully no one on the ground was hurt and it missed her house by feet. Unfortunately all on board perished (2), and 2 family pets. :sad2:

I just got my puppies groomed so they are beautiful, and will need minimal brushing by my mom. They look so good. :thumbsup2 That is the only chore I got done yet today.

I had to brag a bit about what I smart shopper I can be. I went to Wal-mart this morning and I was looking at the shoe organizers. I want one to place over the door, so we can organize all our shampoos, makeup (mine, not ours) , and hairspray and the like. Well, they wanted $10-$12 for one. I did not want to spend that much.

Thankfully , I had the thought of heading to the Dollar Tree. I saved 9-11 bucks . They had one there, and it was only $1. It sure does feel good to get a deal!! :dance3:

Great shopping, BTSEN5! Everyone on this board is so organized. I'm getting so many ideas.
That is terrible what happened with the plane! I can't tell my son about it. He is terrified of flying. He is already nervous. I called the doctor and he recommended an herbal supplement--Valerian Root. You need to start taking it a few days ahead of time. It is supposed to promote rest and relaxation. Now I just have to get my 15 year old son to take it. He says if he is nervous, he wants to "feel" nervous. I'm not actually sure what he means by that, but I think he doesn't want to "mask" what he is feeling. Anyway, I thought I'd mention the supplement for those of you that are nervous about flying. I might even try it because I don't like flying myself.
Have a good one! It's almost time! :hourglass

WOW, that is so sad about the plane crash. I try not to watch the news before vacation because it's so depressing.

Well I'm not totally packed, but Zach is done, Savannah is done, my clothes going in the suitcase are packed. The only thing left to do is put everything we are wearing for dinners in the garment bag and pack any medications. (I'll do that Friday evening) I even have all of our toiletries packed. I bought us all new toothbrushes, deoderant, hairspray....well you get the idea. My hubby will probably pack his stuff on Friday. While he is doing this I can sit back and relax. YEAH RIGHT. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm going to work on another list to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

IT'S GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!! :boat: :jumping1:

Thanks TandD. I think I may try that. I need all the help I can get. Your son is very brave. If I feel nervous, I want to feel incoherent. :rotfl2: I really do not want to take any medication though. It is a short flight for me, and I do not want to feel the effects of it after landing. I think a couple stiff drinks will do me better..... and a drink waiting for me on the plane. Gosh, I need to stop thinking about this. I am tearing up this moment. I should be really together on the plane.....NOT!

Quick question to all.....
Do you know if the kids need sneakers for the kids club? We are a flip-flop kinda family and to get the kids in sneakers, yikes!! Oh and to get them in dress shoes, thats a different battle all together. That will be fun on formal night!!! If I have to I guess they can wear them to the port to save on luggage space.
Thanks!

Hi all!
OK, I'm in need of support. I have already admitted to being a member of Overpackers Anonymous, but now I'm afraid we might have 6 suitcases (varying sizes) and 1 carryon. We've never really needed more than 4 before for any vacation but with the extra day (Friday) and then with all of the day clothes, night clothes, shoes! (an entire suitcase, thank you very much)... Is anyone else in the same boat (no pun intended) or am I seriously overpacking something? Beginning to feel really . (more so than usual!)

Yes, you are over packed. But so what. At this point it is more stressful to figure out what not to take, then dealing with two extra bags.

There are four of you in your family, so in reality, you could have eight checked bags. So looking at it that way, you actually could take two more bags!

If I may make a recommendation. Have at least four of the bags contain things only needed on the cruise starting with dinner on Saturday. That way, those bags will not have to be opened between the time you leave your house and they are delivered to your stateroom about 3:00 pm on Saturday

On one of our earlier trips, every person had their own suitcase. The first night, we had to open every suit case to get pajamas, tooth brushes, etc. It would have been much easier to put all that first night stuff in a single suitcase.

And finally, make sure you have everything you need in your ship carryon(s) for embarkation (such as swimming suits, medicine). You will have a couple of hours when you will not have the bags you checked at the port.

It doesn't matter how many bages 2- 4 -6 -8 :cheer2: as long as you get to the gate :rotfl2: sorry

I am already packed wanted to take these shoes cannot find them in the house and I don't remember if I packed them. So now do I unpack everything to make sure ? :rolleyes1

I too belong to Overpackers Anonymous. I've come to the conclusion that it is ok. So what if we can't fit in our staterooms. We only sleep there right? We have 4 suitcases and 2 garment bags. The kids and DH will each have a backpack and I will have a small carry on plus my purse. Oh, we usually bring an extra bag for whatever we buy. Call me crazy I know. I always find it harder to pack for a cruise anyway because you need more of a variety of clothes and shoes!

Okay, there has been a lot of talk about Cozumel. What are people doing at Grand Cayman? We have the Rum Point Beach excursion booked. It has an hour transportation each way, which I think is by bus, not boat.

We are doing Stingray city in the morning and the Atlantis sub ride in the afternoon. Can you say 'overbooked' :smooth: :smooth: We have about an hour in between. My hubby really wanted to do the sub and I figured Cozumel would still be too damaged....

We are on the waitlist for main dining. Does anyone know what we should do since we are on the waitlist? Do we wait to see what our tickets say when we go to our room or should we go to guest services or somewhere else when we board to find out.

Hello!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I had myself almost convinced that late seating wouldn't be all that bad :sad2: :sad2: and when I checked our reservation today on the disney cruise site, we got moved to main seating.  There is still hope for you!!! Hang in there!!! p.s. glad I checked the site 'cause our travel agent forgot to delete one of our shore excursions. We have two rooms and (it is such a pain  ) to have to book everything twice!

My DH and 10 year old are camping with scouts for four days so I am home alone with 8 year old and 12 year old and 'WE' are almost packed. The extra stuff for formal night and pirate night are taking up almost an entire suitcase.

This is a good one. :lmao: :lmao: Before dear DH left on the campout I asked him to get his birth certificate out so I could start packing. He searched for hours and DID NOT FIND IT. So   I said we were sure gonna miss him next week when we were cruising and he was not. :rotfl2: (you surely didn't expect me to stay home did you :bounce: )Well, one of the threads on the DIS board mentioned how to get BC quickly so we went online :surfweb: and ordered one at 10 pm Sat nite and it came today. :grouphug: :grouphug: so I guess 'he' got lucky and we all get to cruise together.

:cloud9: Carlos and Charlies, that brings back memories of my single days in the late 80's/early 90's. 'nuff said

Can't believe it's so close - see you all soon!

You are doing fine. I am sure you will have a lot of company in the overpacker department. I have every intention of overpacking. This way, I will not stress about it at all. Well, maybe a little.

I have hit the seriously  mode. I am constantly making lists, everyday finding new things I will need to pack, and trying to sort through every great idea that I have seen or heard of from these boards. It is all so much fun though. I am so excited at the thought of getting on that beautiful ship. :dance3: :bounce:

LOL!!! You are too funny. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hmmm, this is why I will not pack yet. I KNOW I would do this very thing. It has "me" written all over it. :rotfl:

We also have 2 rooms, and I do not understand why they cannot link them together somehow, so we do not have to book things twice. THis is one of the reasons I felt it was better not to book excursions. I was afraid I would get one of them booked and the other would not go through, or the computer would freeze, or something like that to make more work for me. Yuck!
