July 15, 2013- WONDER if a Mickey Bar will melt in Alaska?

Super excited about doing this!! Just a small clarification-- Both of my boys have birthdays in July. One right before and one right after so we are celebrating both on the cruise. And Mark will be turning 10 just after.
Already started getting everything together!!!
We made a countdown chain. How can I post a pic?

Cruise documents arrived today :cool1:

For the FE list, it is just the grandsons (not Curt or myself). Thanks.

Hi All,
We're getting excited.....but I have a question. I received an email from Disney a few days ago saying that "ALL Disney cruises have Pirate Night"...hmm, I thought they had changed it to Pixar Night in Alaska. I haven't called Disney to ask, but thought I'd ask you .....what have you heard??
Thanks:listen:

We just got back from boy scout camp - is it too late to join FE group? Our sons are ages 8 and 13 (Sam and Jonathan).
Thanks,
Brenda and Jeff

Hi time for travel.
had the same question regarding an alaskan deck party. got the same info from dcl. my 16th personal cruise director. the alaska cruise has a pixar theme. buzz light yea, woodie, monster ink and others. guess not many pirates made it up to alaska, we'll see. grandson age 8 anxious to meet others in his age group. we have 3 off boat trips planned hope to c a bear or whale.

now for something totally different. anyone flying into seattle and going crazy getting transp to vancouver? the amtrak sked is not great in that the train leaves early in the am and the rest is all bus rides. .

all take care and stay healthy.
caden (dgs) informeed me 34 days till boat ride. i was too sleeply to confirm
cheers,
ducksquack!

I read somewhere that Disney sent out those form emails- confusing a lot of people, but that it is indeed a Pixar Party in Alaska.

KansasDisneyMom- Hi and welcome. Yes, officially the FE group is closed, but I can add you to the list as late additions and if people are able to include your group, they will be happy to do so, but you may not receive from everyone. Please let me know if you would like me to do that!

As I first time cruiser a question about the "cruise packet" with luggage tags etc. About when should they arrive? We are all getting very excited :yay:

That would be great if you could add us as a late addition. I appreciate any thing. Just let me know what date you want us to give the FE gifts
Thanks!

khorne asked about when the cruise docs will be sent. saw that ssnyder got her's few days ago and we just got ours . when i went out to the mail box saw this guy with a long beard on a funny looking boat floating up the street. wow is it ever raining here in the annapolis md. area. hope the little red headed girl who said "the sun will come out tomorrow" is right.
take care and stay healthy
cheers,
ducksquack

So glad to hear that the Disney mail is on it's way! :cool1: Wonder how long it will take to get to sunny Scotland?

Just a thought for new sailors. pre register all that you can especially if you have sailors who will be participating in the kid club activities. also get to the terminal as early as you can as once on board you can have a great lunch and explore the ship.

Tink you asked how long it will take for your cruise docs to reach the beautiful lands of scotland. probably not too long since we have now converted from sail to steam. ::rotfl2:
cheers to all

Tomorrow is 34 days til we cruise.:cool1: We have decided not to do any excursions this time around. We felt like we missed a lot of ship activities and so we are going to enjoy the ship instead. We did book Palo on the 2nd day for brunch for the 1st time. This time we want to go to the evening adult shows and maybe even a movie. There is so much to do and we missed things last time that we didn't know where going on.

Our cruise documents arrived Saturday and we leave in 33 days for the 5 hour drive to Vancouver.:cheer2:

:rotfl: I remember getting our cruise docs before some of the folks in northern US states on one of our cruises! Ours arrived by DHL, they got theirs by regular US mail. ;)

That was the word that was sent atround the u.s. when the golden spike was driven into the rails at promatory ut. signifying the completion of the transcontinental rr. and it also signifies that we have completed all the major stuff for this cruise whoopie!!!.

AZ you asked what excursions are people doing. we did a lot of thinking about what would be best for us. not to rugged and age appropriate for dgs. so here is what we selected. Wanted to get what would show us what alaska was all about. TAKSHAUNUK mountain trail by 4X4 hope to see rugged stuff maybe a bear.

Alaska whales and glaciers photo shoot. can't let grandson come to alaska without seeing a whale and wilderness exploration and crab feast. do u think a marylander would pass up a crab feast? no way.
anyhow if it weren't for some
physical stuff would do zip lining. it is the best.
cant believe how fast time is passing more later from
ducksquack

The ziplining sounds awesome- but not for my crew and I don't want to do it alone, same with snorkeling! We are doing the Wilderness exploration and crab feast too- the later time.... like 2:30ish I think? Is that the one you guys are doing?

At Skagway we are going on the Takshanuk Mountain 4x4 ride also. In Juneau we are going on the whale Quest and Orca Point lodge. And in Ketchikan we are doing the Bering Sea Crab Fishermans Tour. Palo on the second day at sea. We recieved our cruise documents 4 days ago. Time to begin the packing process. We are driving from northern Mississippi and plan on taking about 10 -12 days on the way out to see some of the sights. Branson, Mt Rushmore, the Badlands, Devils tower, Yellowstone, and Seattle are some of the places we plan to visit. On the way home we are going down the Pacific coast to San Francisco, Cut through wine country, and then back to Miss on I-40. Stops at Olympia Nat Forest, Cannon Beach, Redwood Nat Forest, San Francisco, Grand Canyon, Petrefied Forrest, and Painted Dessert. We will be on the road for about six weeks if all goes according to plan.
