Wife and I will be on the this Curise as well. We are from Cleveland Ohio. This is our second Cruise ever and with Disney. Was on the Dream in March of last year. Looking Fwd to it.

Just wanted to join in. We will be on this cruise: me, DH, DS9 and DD6
I haven't planned a single thing, which is not like me. I need to start looking for hotels, flights, transporation to the port, etc. 6 more months!!!

Does anyone know which "area" of NYC would be best for a hotel pre-cruise in terms of proximity to the port? Thanks!

depends on how you want to get to the port- disney only transfers from the airport or hotels in their plans - if you want to drive and park at the port - anyplace is good - north - west of the port is okay - just think of how you're getting to the port and then you can figure how long you want to travel to get there - we can help later with specific hotels

Thanks for the offer to help! I just found the NYC cruise planning thread; I'll read through it first and if I still have questions, I'll ask.

Where is everyone from? We are from Indiana. Even though we are in Indianapolis, I am very intimidated to visit the big city (NYC!) I feel like country mouse visiting city mouse.

northern nj - about 10 miles from nyc (depending on where you want to be in nyc) - sometimes have to go in for work - but generally don't go into the city unless we have to - it's not that intimidating - but we have everything we need here at home -

Hi Everybody!

DH and I have cruised a lot on the Magic as well as other cruise lines. We were booked on a b2b from LA to Vancouver, then Alaska in May and had to cancel due to DH's work schedule. How dare they send him to a conference in the middle of our 14 day cruise!

So I had a conference scheduled in NY July 11-15 and it makes total sense to just jump on the ship for a nice cruise to Nova Scotia, then shoot down to WDW for a couple more days.

Love to do FEs so count us in. I am Beth, DH is Bill. No kids or grandkids will be with us. We'll celebrate our August anniversary on this cruise. I'll follow up in a few days with cabin info.

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing what is offered. I jumped on a great airfare to NY last night, both AirTran and Frontier had great deals from Denver.

I figure we should have a cut-off for registration by June 15? That gives everyone plenty of time for personalization of gifts if need be, etc... I'm not sure yet what we want to do.

I wish I knew what the timing was on these excursions.

My biggest issue is that in having a 2 year old there are a few things she isn't eligable for some of which are kind of crazy but that is besides the point.

In Halifax I'm thinking about having my husband and 6 year old sign up for the Learn the Ropes Exclusive

And have my 2 year old and I sign up for the Essential Halifax with Hop On and Hop off. Since both tours do the maritime musem, the Essential Halifax is an at your leisure and they both involve bus tickets I figure we could still be together.

In Saint John's I'm thinking of doing the Bay of Fundy Senic Railway. I would probably do the version that includes the hop on and hop off. For the extra $50 for our family it would probably be worth it to give us the flexibilty.

Wow found lots of things we'd like to do, timing will be an issue.

May have to divide and conquer as I suspect DH will want the Moosehead tour, but DD will be a few months shy of 21 and unable to go.
