First-timer here. I don't know what to expect on a cruise...do you dress differently on the ship than you would for the excursions in Canada?
Anything that I don't want to miss while on board?
Anything that I shouldn't forget to pack?
All advice appreciated.
Nervous and excited.

Ordered our fish extender today. My DH is laughing at me for talking about FE's and pirate outfits but our first cruise is going to be so "magical."
Will any of you guys dress up for pirate night?

Me, DH and DS (4) :dance3:

Just found out were officially booked as of yesterday for a large group...4 staterooms with 9 guests!!

We'll have to do the FE thingy!

3 of us have been on the Wonder, and the rest are DCL newbies...should be a blast!!!

OH, one other thing...on our last cruise there was a door magnet exchange...

It was great fun finding new decor on our door almost each time we enter or left our rooms!

Would anyone be interested in that?

Todd- that sounds interesting- is that in additiona to the FE?

I have begun organizing the FEs... if anyone who wants to join but hasn't already please PM me with your information ASAP. Thanks everyone!

My kids dress up for pirate night., well we all look "festive" :rotfl:

Here is my Top Ten List for DCL:
10. Not having to get on a plane to take a DCL cruise!! Woo-Hoo!
9. Cruising with all of my kids' grandparents.. should be a great for them and us as well!
8. Lookng forward to a Palo brunch. We have never done it and I am unsure if I can make a dinner happen with such a short cruise. Which dinner would we skip?
7. Seeing my son slide down the water slide- he was too small when we cruised the Magic last in 12/10.
6. Mickey Bars at Sea... nothing is better....
5. The Rainforest in the Spa :worship:
4. The SHOWS! Love our ritual every night after dinner, then show, then clubs...
3. the FE Exchange! So much fun getting surprises everyday! It is like a mini-Christmas everyday!
2. Hearing the Magic Horn as we cruise on the Hudson past the Statue of Liberty
1. Quality time with the family... no when can reach us when cell service is non-exsistant.... :cloud9:

Yup, separate from FE...

I'm trying to see if I can find how we actually did it back on the last cruise....(my memory is failing me!)

I just looked back and the Magnet Exchange was very simple.

Guest sign up by state room...all those taking part are asked to give one magnet to all others involved sometime on the first day/night. That way everyone's door is a unique and surprising display for the rest of the trip....

Of course, you could leav more than one at other times during the trip, but that would be completely up to the people involved...

Ok, that should be easy to add to the FE list- if you want to do the magnet exchange in additin to or instead of please pm me and let me know. This would be 1 magent per stateroom, right?

Yup, only one needed....to be delivered on the first day/night of the cruise.

Participants can deliver more as the trip moves on, but not unless they want to.

BTW, remind me of the FE "rules"....
